TERRIBLE idea.
Mining of any sort is a gamble and certainly not to be relied on for an organizations income.
Even if the gear is donated, you still need somewhere to house the very loud and hot miners as well as access to very cheap power to feed them.

many of us use this usb stick power meter to determine power drow by the usb miner, with this indication directly display I think it is a good help to correctly configure USB hub and tweak 5V with screw to have for example 5,2V for overclock for example
What yo feed into the stick has nothing to do with overclocking...
The stick has its own Vcore regulator which is what the adj pot changes. Feeding the stick more voltage just puts more load on that regulator.

Hello Everyone!
Please keep your political opinions off this topic, as this is not something discussed here and there are other threads to express your thoughts regarding this matter.
<snip>

Please note that we are fully booked and we are not currently looking for clients in this thread.

A sign in that pic is written in Chinese, I doubt the owner is a Putin supporter, stop spreading FUD
So the sign is in Chinese - guess what -- most of the miners in there - and probably a lot of the workers as well - came from Chinese farms so it makes sense that the OP used some signage to make them feel at home. A different post by the OP states that this place IS in Russia.
744  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Seeking advice on a new mining site on: March 02, 2022, 11:30:18 PM
And then there is condition of the miners...
Those poor Avalon's (841's?) are in horrid shape... Where in the hell did they come from? Someplace that obviously did not clean the air at all... Hate to say it but from what can be seen in the racks does not look any better  Shocked
745  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Intel's second gen Bitcoin miner produces 135TH/s at 26J/THs on: March 01, 2022, 02:58:51 AM
Ahh they fucked it up bigly.
They could have sold a 45th machine that does 20 watts a th. (down clock)
listed it at 1500 usd and flooded the market.

Oh well.
instead another 3500 watt hog that is not quite as good as the s19xp
Perhaps. The bigger question is, will they sell bare chips to all comers and let others design for their target markets? Wink

Sidehack could do wonders with it...  Cheesy

According to reports, although President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev is not against mining, miners must obtain licenses, pay electricity bills on decent terms, and pay taxes.
Out of pure curiosity, I've read those statements from some companies in the US, where the hell do I have to look for the amount of tax they've paid in a fiscal year? I have a feeling a lot of poeple will start asking the same questions, how much tax do those miners we fed cheap energy are actually paying back? I'm doing my papers as I will have to submit them next week and for the little guy who can't claim anything back damn, it's frustrating.
<snip>
If it is a publicly traded company, just look at their Investors Information pages as they are required to publish taxes paid as part of their financials.
747  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience has a new stickminer that does 300+GH on: February 25, 2022, 08:59:01 PM
Would a Raspberry PI solve this data transfer problem ?
Damn straight it will. If you look back in this thread you find the results of me changing from W10 to a Raspi 3B -- immediate 10% increase in hash rate while running the same freq plus was able to run at a higher freq.

I don't know if the issue is how Windoze allocates resources to USB or if is related to the Zadig USB driver but it made a world of difference.

edit: A thought... I assume the 2nd hub is plugged into its own port on the PC right? (it should be)
If so, did you tell Zadig to use the 2nd USB connection? If you didn't, `Doze will not like it...
748  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Yet another 1246 down... on: February 25, 2022, 12:00:09 AM
What email did you use to contact them? I had an issue with my 1246 and I'm trying to get a new hashboard. No idea if it's under warranty still.
I used support@canaan.io

HOWEVER, they are forcing me to use my reseller; he is refusing to accept it. Saying China is restricting what is sent through customs, and now Canaan has stopped responding to me at all.
I take it you did not use one of their few Factory Authorized distributors such as Blokforge? If not then ja, you may be screwed regarding any official Canaan warranty support.

Just as Bitmain, Inno and btmicro do, ALL warranty work must go through the original purchaser or Company that ordered it from the manufacturer. For Factory Authorized distributors/resellers (who are listed on the manufacturer websites), no problem. For any other random reseller - BUYER BEWARE!
749  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Running s19 with one board removed on: February 22, 2022, 11:19:51 PM
Would love to find a way to control just a single s19 hashboard with my Apllo controller.
Are you talking about the controller from Futurebit Apollo controller?

I think each s19 hashboard can draw around 900w to 1100w and efficiency depends on how you overclock or underclock the unit. I don't know to those who make modified firmware how they succeed in modifying firmware with a high hash rate and efficiency.
Got a driver the the ASIC used in a s19? I doubt it...
There there is the issue of the Apollo miner code being closed source so even if you did write a driver for the chip ya still cannot edit the Apollo code to use it. Sad
750  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Running s19 with one board removed on: February 22, 2022, 11:12:02 PM
Running with missing one hashboard, is not good idea if you don't have very good ambient temp ... with only two, the pressure of fan is dropping, so, drop cooling efficiency ...

this reflection is available for ALL miners
Spot on and merit given for that. Just like any fluid, (yes, for flow modeling air is considered a fluid) air flows through the path of least resistance so putting a large gap in the system means most of the air is going to flow through the gap and that drastically reduces airflow over and through the heatsinks.

There is also an easy kludge to get around that problem: In place of the removed hash board, put a sheet of fireproof rigid fiberglass with the same dimensions as the board into where it was. That should re-balance the airflow over the heatsinks on the boards still in the miner.

Good afternoon.
I am the developer of this program. My name is Andrey Bobrov. If you have any questions, ask)))

All information about the program in the telegram channel @AvalonMinerViewer welcome
With all respect, Andrey
BitMaxz hit the nail on the head.
The program is only available in compiled versions and without other people being able to examine and vouch for your code you will have a VERY hard time convincing people here that is safe to use. This Forum is not like your usual other Social Media sites which are mostly populated by people that are absolutely clueless regarding cyber security. On those other sites even a crappy hacker can be like a wolf among the sheep -- they just have to be a good 'talker' and enough idiots to make it worth their time will gleefully install anything on their smartphone/tablet/computer.

Make it open source so reputable eyes can examine it along with you providing instructions for people to compile it for their choice of operating system and this would be a whole different discussion. Barring releasing the source code, do you at least have a track record of other programs that folks have used and reviewed?

Anyone successfully involved in crypto knows that is a digital FINANCIAL TOOL and that they *should* be very protective of their assets. As such most are very rightfully wary of any software placed on their digital devices or ANY device they connect to.

Good day. Today I will post the source code, and tomorrow my program will be compiled by someone ... I wrote the program for myself and I do not force anyone to use it !!!
Read logs in TXT or translate them into EXCEL )))
I am ready to provide the code for study only in the event that I am sure that it will not be stolen.

If you are not sure that the program can harm you, do not use it in any case !!!

Sincerely, Andrey.
That is certainly a good start.
Cheers!
753  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Ultra-Low-Voltage Energy-Efficient Bitcoin Mining ASIC from Intel (23 Feb 2022) on: February 20, 2022, 03:34:43 PM
Umm.. but as far as I've read,
BMZ1 and BMZ2 are confirmed as btc (sha-256) asics.
...
Being sha-256 chips does not lock them into being for BTC. Most of the logistics tracking blockchain applications I've seen from IBM are all using sha-256.

That said they can certainly be used for mining BTC but until specs are released we have no way of knowing how they compare to existing chips from Bitmain, Canaan, et al. So far all Intel is saying is that "they are 1000x more efficient than GPU's"
754  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Ultra-Low-Voltage Energy-Efficient Bitcoin Mining ASIC from Intel (23 Feb 2022) on: February 20, 2022, 01:16:34 AM
Folks here should realize that Intel is talking about Blockchain Technology in it's myriad of current and possible applications - NOT just Bitcoin.
From the news release:
Quote
We expect that our circuit innovations will deliver a blockchain accelerator that has over 1000x better performance per watt than mainstream GPUs for SHA-256 based mining.
GPU arrays are of course not used to mine BTC but they are used in blockchain-based logistics tracking applications, large scale Public Utility assets tracking, etc. that use blockchain tech for the records keeping.

756  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 2% fee solo mining 265 blocks solved! on: February 18, 2022, 11:43:18 PM
Hypothetically, if you invested $100,000 US in hashpower for lets's say two weeks straight, what are the chances of taking home a win?   Has anyone ever attempted that?   It's a crazy of money but I was wondering if that's almost a 1-in-4 chance of solving a block (depending on how much hashpower you can buy).   The ROI is not bad if the odds (and luck) is good.
we have invest ~ 110.000 EUR ~ $125.000 für 500PHs for 24h ang got no block
--> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5377859.0
Merit given for being so up-front about the odds and highlighting the statistically most likely result of such a gamble (no block found).
757  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if crypto mining is outlawed ? on: February 18, 2022, 11:22:13 PM
Only thing certain such a scenario is that Diff would drop like a stone and the few miners left will be popping blocks left and right... In the case of BTC still only 1 every 10 min on average but with far fewer folks being able to mine the odds of any 1 person getting it will go up dramatically.

But, the image of the miraculous miner is gone, probably they are photoshopping something else, also you can't really directly order from the website, you have to send an inquiry, probably selective scamming as not to piss the wrong guys?
heh, on Feb 10 they even went as far as to publicly announce the image was faked.

NuMiner’s original image was drawn for marketing purposes. The Company was recently made aware of a similarity in the product’s image to another product on the market and removed the image from its website.
ROFL -- Just A similarity?
This 'multi-million dollar' company couldn't even hire a technical illustrator to draw their vision of what their unicorn miner *may* look like but instead had one of their kids photoshop a real piece of hardware (the Cerebras) that has nothing to do with mining?  Roll Eyes

Gotta love this from their FAQ:

There are so many scams on mining equipment sales. The only sites you can trust are those from official mining equipment manufactures and official online stores.

If there is no stock in those sites, you are better off keeping the money to yourself, or you will lose it to scammers
At least check when the website was setup! Hopefully you will also be VERY wary of resellers 'endorsed' by a newbie's 1st and so far only post. Ya know, like the one above from pgranados...

You are attempting a very useless project. Try reading the pinned message at the top of this area:

3. Mining BITCOIN is done exclusively with dedicated BITCOIN mining hardware based on ASICs - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Application-specific_integrated_circuit . You CAN NOT meaningfully mine bitcoin today with CPU, GPU or even FPGAs. Bitcoin difficulty adapts to match the amount of mining done on the network and has reached levels trillions of times too high to mine meaningfully with PCs, laptops, tablets, phones, webpages, javascript, GPUs, and even generalised SHA hardware. You will not find software in this section to help you mine bitcoin in this absurdly inefficient manner in this subforum. It would cost you thousands of dollars in electricity per year to earn only a few cents in bitcoin. Even if you combined all the computers in the world, including all known supercomputer, you would not even approach 0.1% of the bitcoin hashrate today. Any discussion outside of ASIC related mining, except in the interests of academia, will be moved to the altcoin mining section. There isn't any point attempting to mine bitcoin with CPU or GPU even in the interests of learning as it shares almost nothing with how bitcoin is mined with ASICs and will not teach you anything.

TL/DR Summary:
 - You CANNOT meaningfully mine bitcoin with your PC or laptop no matter how powerful it is.
 - You CANNOT meaningfully mine bitcoin with your tablet or phone no matter how powerful it is.
 - Mining apps for your phone or tablet that claim to mine bitcoin are almost certainly scams.
 - You CANNOT find software here to mine bitcoin with your PC by itself.
 - You MIGHT be able to do one of the above with altcoins, but such discussion goes into the altcoin mining section.
 - You CANNOT find or post software here to mine on other peoples' PC without their permission.
