1  Bitcoin / Press / Re: A Guy Who Owns A Bitcoin-Only Electronics Store Is Revealing Everything On Reddi on: March 20, 2014, 09:53:19 AM
If a merchant is accepting Bitcoins, that is in and of itself a positive thing because that helps to increase the usability of Bitcoins as a simple form of currency exchange.

In the poll I chose security as the #1 concern, but many of the other choices are important too.

I hope to see more annotations to let me know how to make a choice

Is this question in reference to having more choices of alt coins to work with at the new exchanges being discussed here, if not what topic are you referring to ?

I agree with your concept,

It's time to rid the marketplace of Sites and exchanges that mishandle, don't backup, and don't guarantee the safety and security of other peoples hard earned $, be it fiat currency or alt coins !

We agree entirely, the days of faceless sites that haven't had any relevant content updated in months or are run by people who are, lets just say not up to the job, are over. They do not contribute to the positive progression of crypto-currencies which at OneCrypto is our ultimate aim.

Take a look at our thread if your interested in any more info, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=514604.msg5684419#msg5684419

Hope you join us when we go live!

Amazing comments by both of you and I agree with them 100% !

What are the basic start up costs for mining alt coins, what types of alt coins do you recommend to mine, and can we use our own PC and add on mining equipment or do we have to buy all new components to get a decent system set up for mining alt coins ?

I've read somewhere about mining pools, where groups of miners work together and share in the mining costs and profits ...

I joined this forum because of my interest in Devtome, where you can earn devcoins by writing some good articles there. I'm also finding alot of valuable info on alt coins in general at this Bitcoin forum too. Which is very helpful with all that's been going on lately with alt coins. I really hope that the value of Bitcoins, Litecoins and Devcoins goes way up and stays there, so that all of our investments in them can be rewarded.

Once the site is up and running all of the questions you have just asked will be answered in an easy to take in format so I will reframe from confusion you with jargon right now, however I will say if you have any urgent matters feel free to email us at info@onecrypto.co.uk and we will try our best to help.

OneCrypto.

Thanks Crypto for all of the info that you've given out on this thread for all of us to read. I hope your new site does well and that it will raise the standards for all kinds of online alt coin transactions and activities. I'm currently reading about writing for Devtome and I will continue to watch this thread for your latest updates on OneCrypto.

Hi,

To all, I'm new here and am now reading about writing for Devtome here:

http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=earn_devcoins_by_writing

I've already read that page before and I'm now going through it again just to be sure that I've got all of the needed info. From that page there are many links to other pages which continue giving advice about writing for Devtome that are recommended to also be read after reading that first intro page. I've already read through some of those pages too and will be going through all of them again and also read through the other ones that I haven't read yet a couple of times too.

I figure that this way I'll be able to get set up for writing better articles faster instead of having to go looking for the answers that are all lined up on those pages one after the other. After I go through all of those pages a couple or more times, than I will start writing some decent articles and hope that they are good enough that a lot of people will enjoy reading them. That's all for now, I'll report back soon.

I love your attitude!! Quality comes from consistency and consistency comes from us all starting on the same page(s).. there must be 1000 questions in this thread about how writers should get started. I think your first article should include your own post as a pointer to all new writers.

What is your writer name on Devtome?

Also, there is a Devtome Writers Award you could consider writing towards as well: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=517413.msg5720343#msg5720343

It is sedgwyck,

Well my first article for Devtome is already being worked on and is partly done. Maybe after I write some regular articles I could write a Devtome article for new writers based on and including the comment quoted above that you liked.

That contest sounds very challenging and inviting all at the same time. I will be reading the details to see if I can write an article that has a chance to do well in the contest and maybe I'll enter it.

Thank you for your kind comments.

I've read somewhere about mining pools, where groups of miners work together and share in the mining costs and profits. How does all of that get coordinated, so that all of the individual mining work gets added into that particular pool ?

If the initial investment is too high for a beginner, do you recommend buying some mining shares at an amount that we can afford first, wait, save up the alt coins that build up with the investment shares, and then use those profits towards investing in a full alt coin mining system. Are you going to offer that kind of service too for those of us who are new to this part of working with alt coins.

Would you agree that a beginner to alt coin mining might be better off starting off by investing in mining shares, in order to get the right kind of and enough exposure to alt coin mining in general and the more advanced levels too, before they invest in a full alt coin mining systems components and equipment ?

7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] √ [GOX] MtGoxCoin Launched: Recover Loses & Earn Big √ [POOLS] Mine Here! on: March 15, 2014, 10:54:53 AM
What is MtGox Coin all about, how long has it been around. how much does it cost, and what are its prospects for rising in value over time ?

After what happened to MtGox it's interesting that an alt coin with that same name is being promoted so soon after all of the controversies that have been associated with MtGox lately. most of which are far from being solved, remedied, and resolved. I hope that somehow all of those people who were saving their Bitcoins with MtGox can somehow regain the ones that were supposedly mysteriously taken, stolen, and lost.

I keep reading about new alt coin exchanges being openened up all the time, with many promises for a better alt cin exchange experience with them. The only way to find out if they can be trusted to do the right in the short term and over the long run, is for them to allow new account holders to deposit low amounts of alt coins, so that the new customers can try and test out how well the new alt coin exchange service runs.

As the customers trust builds, than they would feel more comfortable about depositing and transacting in higher amounts of alt coins through that alt coin exchange service. As long as an alt coin exchange is being run right and the customers are happy with the way the alt coin transactions are being handled, such as in a timely manner, everything would be ok for all involved.

What we all need to take away from the MtGox experience is to check your alt coin exchange accounts daily to make sure that everything is running and working out ok as it was the day before. I have been reading about how to earn devcoins by writing for Devtome. If I have some devcoins and want to deposit them for safe keeping, I'm going to search for an alt coin exchange that I can trust.

We must all try to find ways to help those people who unfairly and most probably criminally lost their hard earned Bitcoins at MtGox. We must all also learn from the disasterous, tragic, and unacceptable MtGox experience, and be able to avoid that kind of way out and out of control situation to develop in the first place. It shouldn't even be allowed to get to the point where it could even happen that way again.

Anyway good luck with this MtGox Coin and any info on it is much appreciated.
