Wait a second, who's calling the shots and who's the dev here?
Its all confusing now.
Hi,

There is no confusion here; these are coordinated team works. Everybody uses own precious spare time to get things done. This coin with multi-algo mining has quite variable total daily blocks which probably would not reach the maximal till the coming 1-6 months. It ended when the (probably wrongly) reported total coin supply did not get close to the expected 2.8 million Joincoin.

old Joincoin thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=737405.0

In short, the mining was completed at the expected block count, but the network activity cannot be maintained without restarting at next halving of 1 Joincoin/block. The future promotion activities are expected to bring the Joincoin usership and value to a higher gear while the mining and network activities will stay more and more attractive, well-built and stable, especially under the catchphrase of "All Algorithm  mining."

More than one year ago, a switch to POS or POW+POS mining was promoted, but in the end, continuing present POW mining (with bug fixes now implemented by pallas )  is the consensus and  least problematic. This helps with going through this short-term hardship in staying quite viable such as being in the exchange.

Pjcltd is entrusted and burdened with the job of creating Op of this thread. All these communications are just to get thing done faster and at the same time showing the ongoing progresses.
No none has access to the Op of the previous thread; therefore this new thread is created for timely update.   Cheesy

Explore (CryptoID): https://chainz.cryptoid.info/j/#!crypto
Faucet (CryptoGuru): http://cryptoguru.tk/CurrencyInfo/index.php?Currency=J

Bitnodes have all 3 Joincoin node (as green) being up or seemingly running (if I am not wrong) and the only problem is that no one respond to any request. It still show expiration date of May/2016 although it was paid to extend service for another year, with an upgrade. I have the imagination that it seems to be running and could possibly update to the new fork as requested if I give it a trial. Huh

 Cheesy

Grinz already updated CryptoGuru Faucet site.

I Already sent request for an update, to CryptoID BE site,  and Bitnodes for the 3 Joincoin nodes.  Cheers,  Cheesy

Hi,

It is a great concept and services with great potentials here.  Cheesy

Can you do and consider doing Indepent, stand alone, SWAP activity Apps for two cryptos.

It would be a simplied exchange, or one-sided sell-buy (market place-like) activities, and primarily a sponsorship.

It is for promotional purpose for attracting mobile users

It is simply one-sided buying (of the sponsored coin) (by me) in exhange for another crypto.

The functions can be integrated with a wallet client, but should be mobile-capable by being able to be integrated with a webwallet or with the capability to post a button link or placed in popups of a website or even better, by working directly in a mobile phone App

The sponsored is a mobile-syncing ("mining") crypto, still syncing despite the fact that the devs' have been AWOL for more than one year. There is still a webwallet, a limited block viewer. It is  a risk only for me by keeping and sponsoring the other crypto which might start to misbehave; I take the risk; the service is offered as is.

Unless it can be rescued, there is no other great way to attract mobile phone everyday persons who are not crypto or mining savvy. If we succeed, we would be able to attract unlimited mobile phones users and good for the cryptos world.

Please see https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=902788.new#new

Thanks.  Cheesy

I've been thinking about your question but the best answer i've got is that, what are you asking is more feasible by an exchange service. I am not saying that it is impossible to create such an application but
at this stage we must concentrate to deliver the services we were promissig to our ico investors, and developing such an application almost from the scratch since MangoCoinz, as far as i know, has no
open source blockchain or even an open source client, would be a very time and resource consuming task which we can't assume at the moment. Also even if the application would exist there would be the task of prooving the ownership of the coins from the existing MCZ network. The best option would be to come to an agreement with the exchanges which already has MCZ listed and do there the swap, if you still consider that developing a standalone app is the best solution you shall contact us about this matter in a few months when we have a stable client base for the services we offer at a regular basis and we can dedicate the team to other challenging tasks too.

Thank you. I understand.  Cheesy

Once Joincoin's fork is ready, we should considering getting listed on a few exchanges. One of the best choice is Cryptopia which has market place, Lotto games and Mineshaft. (The Minshaft is great but not practical, costing 0.3 BTC per year to be listed for each of 13 algo's.)

Lotto is useful for attracting users to the exchange and other users in the exchange. (This one I can use in the campaigns to attract users from other language threads and regions. More to come.)

The caveat: The past attempt to get Joincoin listed for voting was screened out, due to the fact of 50% (>10%) premine, despite the fact the original dev has taken AWOL, and up to  23.8% of then Joincoin total supply have been donated to the faucet site. ( It was 0.39 million Joincoin for the present Total coin supply of 2.8 millions.)

There is no longer a voting system there but the problems in getting acceptance could be the same.

Please do not hesitate to start any activities to bring Hex's attention, considering that we have great dev's, great team and a great coin.  Cheesy

The multifaucet for Joincoin (J) has been running for about 5 months on unprecedented giveaways. 23.8% of outstanding (1,666,839) Joincoins (J) have been donated and  17.8% have been given away.

The MultiFaucet for Joincoin (J) Info has been updated http://www.multifaucet.tk/index.php?faucet=J

Other sites/services, such requesting to be listed on a couple of new exchanges and Coinomi (which requires being on 3 exchanges and being on the top 100 marketcap list, etc.), can be started in our leisure, some takes more time and efforts. Before that, We will need to have a webwallet to extend the mobile use and promotions. More plans to follow.  Cheesy

We should get or try to get into a couple of exchanges in the coming month.  Cheesy
411  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Joincoin (J) ToR Anonymous All Algorithm mining! NEW THREAD on: December 03, 2016, 02:31:25 AM
Due to lack of mining with a fork coming, everything slows down except the price.

Now we are facing a delisting again, 2nd one within 2 months. The Joincoin faced such warning about 20x in lifetime.

This market is in danger of de-listing due to low trade volume and lack of user interest. It may be removed on Friday, December 9th 2016 unless the average daily trade volume for the last 14 days exceeds 0.5 BTC.

What makes Bittrex not so conscientious is that, in addition to promoting certain cryptos by receiving a hefty fee for such services, now it is asking the long-term listed cryptos to markedly increased required (at least) 0.2 BTC/day x 7 day to 0.5 BTC/day x 14 days while the BTC price increased 2-3 times during the past year.

Anyway, I am looking into promotions initially with a webwallet and see what I can do, at least something quite concrete by Jan 1,2017.

Keep our fingers crossed.  Cheesy

In about 2-3 weeks, after I start the next request, I will need the community to post in chat box @ the targeted site or engage in other promotional activities to get a modified SWAP program set up for us. cheers.  Cheesy

how could this be swapped?  it has no real block chain so no way to check or verify addresses or transactions, it was never open sourced and the devs are long gone. Does the webwallet even work still?

The MCZ webwallet definitely worked when I last checked on Oct 4, 2016.

At this moment, I am quite sure that it can be done. The issue is streamlining the operation and be official, including periodic adjusting the swap ratio to keep the swap attractive.

Because it is SWAP function, any exchange site can do it and no trading of MCZ except the swap function needs to exist. In these case(s), MCZ can be treated as a token. In the exchange swap site, a webwallet account is open for me. The swap streamline the operation of deposited MCZ's by any user in exchange for a specific amount the promoted cryptocoin from my account to be deposited to the user's account at the site.

In the end, It is me taking the risk for keeping those MCZ's. Even if they are worth nothing, I achieve the goal of bringing mobile phone users to my Coin(s) and also indirectly benefiting the crypto world as whole.

It would be great, if I can take care the swap in webprograms or Apps for mobile phones. Because it is intended for mobile phone users, regular crypto wallet client could not be used.

In the worst case scenarios, we can just treat MCZ as a merchandise, and trade it as such. This can be done through Market places which exist in some exchanges including such as Cryptopia or at a coinpayment site.  I would post, such as "Wanted to buy 50 MCZ, price offered 500 Cryptocoins." Some one would respond by sending 50 MCZ to my webwallet address, and send me a request (with QR code) for payment created with the Cryptocoin webwallet system. Next, I would pay the bill with the cryptocoin. (Too many steps, for a non-crypto-savvy, everyday mobile phone user. Also things can go wrong, if the MCZ's are sent to a misspelled email address, for example. They will never get their MCZ back.)

Similarly, there is no reason that the buy/sell operations cannot be streamlined or done with  a dedicated App.

All these are based on the fact that I take the risk and pretty much Both the MCZs and my Cryptcoins are actually in "my" addresses that the sites keep for me.

The sponsorship would be offered "As Is" and be continued as long as nothing goes wrong itself.

Better yet if the MCZ dev's come back for new developments. Let's try first, if the whole thing would work even without them. If so, We can start a petition (signature or other) campaigns asking dev's to come back and if they would, they will be forgiven for anything they did before.

I am counting on S.WA.P. programs to streamline the MCZ -> Specific Crypto exchanges.

Most contacted sites which might do the job are not helpful yet.

One site which recognized my email and created a ticket has not given me any preliminary answer yet.

Some sites look like ghost sites, unclear whether they are still  in operation despite the website being up (and with boxes whcih accept my contact request) with last posted company news being at least one year ago.

The cryptos world is full of questionable, unscrupulous exchange sites. One site has the clauses: "request can be declined if we don’t like your coin." Overall, it looks fine for them to say so, but after paying the fees for " Premium - 0.1 btc - 4-7 business days (no guarantee in case of compilation issues) ,"  I did not see any actions or get notified of any progress. When questioned by me one month later, the response to my ticket was that "your coin probably did not get accepted if not listed yet."  What a Jerk/3rd-class site!

There might be some more possibilities.

Coinpayment site is a possible choice, by treating MCZ as a merchandise but this will need every MCZ syncer to register, paying a fee and being a merchant to sell XXX amount of MCZ and request a payment with the SWAP'd crypto. Actaully a webwallet of the crypto would be equally or even easier and better in doing the same job; a user simply sends the MCZ and uses the webwallet to request a payment. This is still a barrier for intended users who are usually not cryptos-savvy and likely won't use it. It is also too cumbersome for a long-term project.

It is a matter of time as long as MCZ stays alive.  Cheesy

Guys I do not have a windows environment to compile the binaries; can someone do this please, when the github is updated?

Actually, I can give it a try for both 32 bit & 64 bit, Thinking that actually it is only a file to make.
(It is also a good idea to get Mac binaries. I do not have mac computers. )

I tried to make one with windows a couple of years ago with another crypto a miner software. With folders and files, I ended up missing some .cLL ? files, and could not make that one work and gave up.

Did you try starting the wallet with "-rescan"?

Thank you for the above inputs. I am glad that it is not a problem after all.  Cheesy

Did I do it right?

Code:
09:08:48
importprivkey TPnzABJxTedmh6JXesQwdW18xatCA52K89uvmTykGH9UkX4VAXSr JJ rescan=true

09:08:48
Error: Error parsing JSON:rescan=true

"-rescan" was a commandline option to add when you run the wallet.
if you wanna use the rpc command, I think you should replace "rescan=true" with just "true"

Thanks. It works.  Cheesy

Be careful with sharing private keys like that.

I quickly imported it trying to save your coins in case it held any but I see you used a private key for an empty, unused address so you're fine. Of course, don't use that address anymore.

Certainly, I deleted old one and started a new wallet. Thanks.  Cheesy

I never did it (contacting the exchanges etc. as "main coin dev") but I guess a couple months is enough.
At least I've seen such timing (between 1 and 2 months) used by other coins with success.
I was wondering about the block exploerer, is it managed by someone still active?

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/j
is synced and is owned by user fairglu (profile: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=221182)

http://j.explorer.bitnodes.net
is stuck since July, last year

http://cryptoguru.tk/Blocks/index.php?Currency=J
is synced and has a contact link on their site: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=188159
The faucet is also managed by this site.

The https://bitnodes.net master nodes are managed by the guys in this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1058996.0 but their OP wasn't online since close to a month. But he might answer to a PM.

Bittrex is quick to upgrade wallets I heard but same as you, I've never did this before so I don't really know.

I think a couple of months might be too long of a wait as it might be hard to create volume to stay on bittrex while the blockchain is slow and there are no blockrewards.
But then again it's hard to gauge how long the blockchain will move.

Hi,

The only major thing we need to really focus on is to have Bittrex update the wallet client for the fork. Other than confirming legitimacy and checking the software, the rest is only to sync the new wallet, all these can be done in few days. I think one month is more than enough, and even  2 weeks should not be a problem and can be justified, considering the urgency of rescuing the Joincoin Network.

Now we are at block 628285, It would be feasible to set the mining to start @ 630000, ( likely taking 14-16 days to reach based on average daily total block counts of about 100 per block per day), if we can get it ready in a couple of days; otherwise, adding another 500-1000 block might be needed, but this can hit right at the Christmas time, not necessary a problem.

In the worst case scenarios, as long as the user is not mining, the old wallet will likely still work.

The talk has been going on for 2 weeks; it should not be a problem for miners following on this thread.

The other sites are only services which can be notified (by anyone and certainly I can do that and you can leave it to me), probably all at once with the same messages, i.e., A fork with Github links and ( taking advantage of the notice by adding) new infos (such as website which I will make one before the end of the month.)
