Hey folks!

Adam here from Vault of Satoshi - recently many of you read about Part 1 of our big summer update launching automatic withdrawals, instant Interac deposits and partnerships to increase our volume.

We at Vault of Satoshi have always been proud to push the envelope and we like to think we have a user experience that is second to none.

As we gear up for Part 2 of the update later this summer we wanted to give users an opportunity to experience that platform and show you the VoS difference. So from now until the end of the July 5th weekend (and our Big Canada Day Celebration) we are offering FREE deposits and FREE trading.

That's right! No trading fees, and no fees on deposits.

You used to pay 1% on trades. Now it's FREE.

You used to pay 0.2% on coin-to-coin. Now it's FREE.

You used to pay $7.50 to deposit via PAD/EFT. Now it's FREE.

You used to pay $1.50 for Instant Interac payments from the comfort of your own home...and hey: Now it's FREE.

How Do I Sign Up?

If you aren't already a user, you can go to www.vaultofsatoshi.com/signup to get started today.

Coin-to-Coin trading is available right away.

Coin-to-fiat trading requires verification processes.

US Clients

Vault of Satoshi is in the middle of it's US rollout and does support clients from South Carolina and Nevada for full features, as well as Texas for Coin-to-Coin.

Users form South Carolina and Nevada may go through the full verification process. Users from Texas simply need to create an account and select their state as "Texas" to begin Coin-to-Coin trading.

We're excited for you to try out our platform, and for our upcoming Summer Update Part 2 which will feature stronger support for US and International users.

All the best,

Plus our hash rates are just as competitive as anyone else, if not better.

I am afraid that the hashrate on PBmining is much cheaper than yours, though some believe it is just a ponzi scam...

It's cheaper but you are locked into a 5 year contract, in that time miners will be very different machines. Plus the price they charge for a 5 year operation on 2TH/s set up would not even cover cost of electricity.

Based on the current cost of power in Saskatchewan Canada (where they state they are based from) a highly efficient unit like the Antminer S2 runs at about 1,100 watts *2 to get up to the 2TH/s and this would work out to $10,560 in power costs over five years. You can look up this using the Saskatchewan power authorities pricing model:

http://www.saskpower.com/calculator/residential

We're competitive with or better than any main stream and reliable service. From a name users known and trust.

That's assuming that the price of Bitcoin isn't going to rise. People often forget to take that into account when calculating profit, if you are going to buy Bitcoin and wait for the price to rise you'd be better mining.

With C$ 900 (US$ 825), I could have bought 1.875 btc now (bitcoin price is $440 at this moment on bitstamp).
With C$ 900, I could have bought a 150GH/s contract from you, and it will generate ~1.15btc in a year (with no fees and 10% difficulty increments everytime) or ~1.78btc (5% difficulty increments).

No matter bitcoin price will be $100 or $100000, it is still better to buy bitcoin directly.

That's irrational logic; because the price of Bitcoin changes, where as the fee we charge does not. If Bitcoin rises even a fraction in price then you are better getting a mining unit.

Even at the $500 mark for Bitcoin you'd make more Bitcoin with the $900 in mining contracts, and still have the upside potential to make more on the returns.

Are there going to be occasions where during a dip buying the bitcoin would be better? Sure, that will always happen in Bitcoin. But more often than not it's worthwhile to get the miners - plus we're throwing this all back into supporting the network with Bitcoin nodes!

Current price of 10 GH/s on cex.io is only worth 0.07 BTC or about $30 USD...  Your prices are more than double, plus cex.io allows you to sell those GH/s in the market whenever you want.

Cex.io also charges trading fees, and maintenance fees per GH/s (https://cex.io/maintenance). We do not.

Also our prices are in the Canadian dollar and there's are in the US dollar.

Cex.io maintenance fees on 10GH/s work out to $31.20 a year. + the $30 to buy means that 10 GH/s at Cex.io costs $61.20 USD. When you convert that to Canadian dollars with fees it works out to around $70.

So in actuality we are the same price on our small plans and our 100GH/s and 150GH/s plans are cheaper than theirs. We just bill all at once in upfront pricing, and provide nodes to help the network.

True, but your hashrate is still very expensive and buyers have no chance to get profit at all, even if difficulty is going up at a very slow rate.

That's assuming that the price of Bitcoin isn't going to rise. People often forget to take that into account when calculating profit, if you are going to buy Bitcoin and wait for the price to rise you'd be better mining. Plus our hash rates are just as competitive as anyone else, if not better.

How will Payments Be Made

**Is this open to US customers?**

Absolutely!

What are Full Bitcoin Nodes

The Bitcoin Network operates on a Peer-to-Peer structure where each "nodes" (or full clients) have downloaded an entire copy of the Blockchain and help to broadcast and validate transactions and blocks to the network

To ensure the long term health and stability of the network it is important to have a large number of nodes that are diversified by region. The emergence of online wallets and large size of the blockchain has hindered the number of users operating full wallets.

In doing our part we at Vault of Satoshi will be adding full Bitcoin nodes for every 150GH/s plan we sell as well as a full Bitcoin node for every other 10 plans we sell.

Where will the nodes be hosted?

For reasons of network stability we plan to do our best to spread out our hosted nodes across various data centers. They will be spread out through our data center partners and will include locations in the US, Singapore, Australia, Ireland and Brazil

Can I Pick Which Pool I Mine With?

No, for reasons of security and ease of maintenance we will be using a set pool.

I Have Additional Questions

Feel free to post them here or email adam@vaultofsatoshi.com

In regards to which jurisdictions, and which functions of business?

Are you looking to strictly sell Bitcoin? Looking to operate an exchange? Looking to be a business that serves it? and where are you located?

10  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Vault of Satoshi Launches Full Proof of Solvency (Not Just an Audit) on: April 22, 2014, 08:47:24 PM
Can customers audit the exchange in real time?

It's my understanding that the hashes are produced in a daily cron, and you can run an audit at anytime but you will get the values from that days cron!

If you have any further technical questions I can direct them to our software engineer who lead up that project!

Thanks.  Daily is good enough vs traditional audits that can take several months.  Your exchange should gain in market share with the implementation of this new tool.

Regardless, we feel it is the right thing to do. Our users trust us with their assets and we should put that front and center and be as reliant, secure and transparent as we can afford. Our user's deserve every bit of effort to give them peace of mind!

would you mind elaborating what you mean by "full proof"?
That is, what information you provide and how can one verify its validity.

You are able to check that we have all the BTC we claim we have, that your BTC are indeed included as a part of that and appropriately assigned to you and that our coldwallet exists on the blockchain and has the appropriate funds.

13  Economy / Service Discussion / Vault of Satoshi Launches Full Proof of Solvency (Not Just an Audit) on: April 21, 2014, 06:52:19 PM
At Vault of Satoshi we have always tried to embody the mantra of being an open, honest and transparent exchange. We feel it's our duty to do so when you make the decision to place your funds in our hands.

For this reason we have long sought after a way to prove our reserves to the public in a safe and reliable manner, while most exchanges issue a third-party audit, we felt that simply wasn't open enough - so today at Vault of Satoshi we are proud to announce full proof of solvency and the publication of our cold wallet!

Users can self validate both their balance and the overall reserves of the exchange by navigating to our security center and selecting "BTC Proof of Solvency". From there, load the partial tree list, select "online tools" and copy paste in the relevant information to validate the holdings.

Note: While our secured cold wallet is listed and public, we have decided to not publish the hot wallet address for security reasons, and so the total value may have a discrepancy of up to 5-6%.

We at Vault of Satoshi want to thank you for your trust and your continued patronage. We will continue to take steps to be transparent and promote honest, customer oriented practices in the Cryptocurrency market.

14  Economy / Service Discussion / [Affiliate Program] Vault of Satoshi Affiliate Program - Earn 40% Commission! on: April 21, 2014, 03:54:46 PM
We at Vault of Satoshi are very proud to announce our industry leading Affiliate Program!

http://affiliates.vaultofsatoshi.com/

Vault of Satoshi will now payout our affiliates for users they refer to the exchange for the following services:

From Your Direct Referrals

1. 40% of fees from a referred user who makes a Coin to Fiat (and Fiat to Coin) trades

2. 10% of monthly fees from a user referred who buys the $99/month plan

From Sub-Affiliates you Refer (Tier 2)

3. 5% of fees from a user referred by your referral who makes a Coin to Fiat (and Fiat to Coin) trades

4. 1% of fees from a user referred by your referral who signs up for the $99/month plan

These high value fees allow our affiliates to make strong earnings and margins that would be on par with running their own exchange without the overhead and various logistics/security concerns.

We're confident that not only will this program be fantastic for our affiliates, but also our users in the long run as we expect to aggressively increase our volume.

FAQ

Can US users sign up as affiliates?

Absolutely. Our affiliate site is a separate site and so US users may hold accounts there and receive funds for referrals they have made. However, it is important to note that the referrals must be located in a country that we service in order for the affiliate to earn any money.

If I refer a US user and you re-enter the US will I get commission on this referral?

While US users are unable to trade with us or verify their accounts, they can create an account. Since the affiliate assignment takes place when an account is created and does not expire you would be credited in the future if a US user should sign up through your link and uses our service after the US re-entry.

So I can earn money by referring other affiliates?

That's correct! We're pleased to not only reward our users for referring active traders, but also for helping us to find affiliates that make strong contributions to our exchange. For this reason you will earn downline commission when an affiliate you refer, refers a user who trades on our site.

Are there any disallowed activities?

Yes - users may not do anything that violates the CANSPAM act, or any various laws in their region. They may not promote Vault of Satoshi along side any adult materials, anything related to narcotics, or anything related to gambling. Users may also not bid on the PPC phrase "Vault of Satoshi" or in anyway misuse or claim to represent our brand. Vault of Satoshi reserves the right to close and cancel any affiliate account in violation of these rules, our terms of service or that portrays our brand in a negative light.

How Will I Be Paid?

Payments will be made on a Net30 schedule and can be done via Paypal or Cheque when a users account balance exceeds $100 in payments. Users may opt for a Wire transfer if their balance exceeds $1000. Payments will currently only be made in Canadian Dollars (but can be exchanged on either Vault of Satoshi or Paypal).

Important Notes

Users who are affiliates may not directly fund their Vault of Satoshi accounts from referral payments. Vault of Satoshi reserves the right to modify these agreements at anytime. Updates will be reflected in the user's terms of service.

Any questions or support in regards to the affiliate program should be sent to adam@vaultofsatoshi.com

We've been teasing our users this week about an upcoming large change to our trading system. Today we at Vault of Satoshi are proud to announce the launch of our Coin-To-Coin trading system!

Our much awaited system allows users to trade from any coin to any coin without the need to go through BTC or LTC first. Want to trade your Vertcoin for Dogecoin? It's not a problem, simply list your desired prices in our orderbook and trade away!

Do I Have To Be a Verified User to Trade?

Unlike trades dealing with Fiat currencies, we do not have the same verification restrictions. Users who create an account, and are in our serviced countries will be able to trade coin to coin without the need for any verification.

17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Announcement: New Coins Coming to Vault of Satoshi on: March 25, 2014, 01:16:02 PM
There were a number of factors that go into us picking a coin, it's not simply about volume for us. While we do intend to add more coins, we couldn't simply add them all at once. If we aren't adding a coin currently, then it isn't necessarily because we don't want to add it, but in many cases it just didn't make the list for this first rollout.

There will be more coins added in the future, but right now these are the ones we've settled on based on a number of factors and we're pretty excited to have them on board.

Hey folks,

We wanted to talk a bit of time today to formally announce some up coming features to VoS.

As many of you know we're inching closer and closer to launching our Coin to Coin trading platform which we expect to launch this April; but we've also promised that we'll be adding new coins to the exchange to go along with this. We've decided to stagger the addition of new coins but wanted to confirm the list of coins and give you a general idea as to when they will be added:

Coming Wed March 26th

1. Auroracoin
2. Vertcoin

Coming in April

1. Darkcoin
2. Worldcoin
3. Mintcoin
4. Cryptogenic Bullion
5. Maxcoin

Coming Soon (after the others)

1. Reddcoin

*Note*: All these coins will be available first for coin-to-fiat, and then for any coin to any coin trading (no need to trade through BTC) once our coin-to-coin platform launches!

We did hear from a number of great coin communities who were not yet quite at the stage of development yet to be listed on our exchange. But we do encourage them to continue to grow and reach out to us for future updates (you can always reach me at adam@vaultofsatoshi.com)

All the best,
