1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin XT has code which downloads your IP address to facilitate blacklisting on: August 23, 2015, 04:42:51 AM
Why is everyone freaking out?

What's wrong with a little bit of control, policing and over sight?

Just don't do anything wrong or piss off the wrong people and you'll be fine.

2  Other / Meta / Re: Theymos needs to check an IP addy for my life's been official threatened via PM. on: August 23, 2015, 04:31:31 AM
I might be wrong on this but I'm pretty sure threats aren't illegal unless that person who made the threat has the means to carry it out

You are wrong.

In almost all jurisdictions in the USA it's called "Assault by Threat" or "Terroristic Threats" and ranges from a Class B Misdemeanor to 3rd Degree Felony.

Not sure where PG is but in most places they will put you in jail quick for threats.

If I had a BTC for every time someone threatened to kill me I could take a well financed vacation.

As long as the sender isn't from Louisiana or Haiti, there's no reason to fear they have any actual control over zombies.

May 2010

Setup five Dell Optiplex 745 Core2Duo in May 2010 that I switched over from a SETI project that was run over night and on weekends.

Ha, most wise.  My spare CPU cycles were dedicated to Folding@Home when I first discovered Bitcoin but I decided to split my limited resources rather than switch over.

Do you remember your total khps? (before the significant hashrate-boosting client upgrade later in the year).

Absolutely!

I was estatic I was getting 2.0 mhs per machine before the update.

After the update I was getting around 4.8 or so per machine.

You gave away 50?  wow

I once formatted accidentally over 12,000 BTC.

Artforz gave me 10,000 of that early on.

Keep in mind, BTC had essentially no value and no real place to "sell" them back in the early day.

No body was mining it and getting more if I wanted more was fairly easy.

That's why I laugh when people claim Satoshi instamined LOL

There was zero motivation at that point.

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mike's 75% attack on: August 18, 2015, 12:36:25 AM
You know, all this hub-bub about 8MB blocks is really reduced down to a mere version of a 51% attack.  More accurately, it is a 75% attack.  Instead of one guy getting 51% of hash power, Mike has asked people to cooperatively join his '75% attack'.  When they all do join, they will strengthen their side of the fork and re-write history (the other side).  This is just a well-organized 51% attack.  But I love it.  I am on the side of the bad guys.  I love Mike's XT; despite it being nothing more than a thinly veiled 51% attack.

This is awesome!  This is Bitcoin's first 51% attack.  And we are witness to it.  Bet you didn't think it would be like this.

Excellent spin you just put on this!

7  Other / Meta / Re: Guys, there is no censorhip. Stop crying ok? Here read this: on: August 18, 2015, 12:34:52 AM
The best part was the if 90% don't agree with me then leave the subreddit. Like wtf? Huh

I have no position or opinion but theymos' my way or the highway mentality reeks of egoism. There are other examples I've seen over the year but I won't derail.

What part of private forum that you voluntarily signed up for do you not understand?

Consensus doesn't rule here,

Two Admins do.

8  Other / Meta / Re: Everyone calling for Quickseller to end war on tsp; QS ignores thread for weeks on: August 18, 2015, 12:32:14 AM
@tspacepilot

You thread title is misleading.

Everyone is not calling QS to end your imaginary war.

You're just pissed over some well earned negative feedback.

It might have been two years later you were indeed running bots on Coinchat.

You got caught, deal with it.

@tspacepilot

It couldn't be any more that the all you are trying to do is attack Quickseller in your private little war because you earned some negative trust.

Defending Hexacoin is a really bad idea.

I would find another angle of attack if I were you.

~BCX~

Dear Hexacoin, I'm sorry to disappoint you in admitting that I'm not defending hexcoin.  I was drawing attention to the attack-dog mocking taunting style of Quickseller as contrasted with others in this forum.

You might not calling defending your reputation against slander a "little private war" if your hero had perpetrated on you what he's perpetrated on me.  Then again, maybe he won't be doing that to you because you seem to be his number one cheerleader and as far as I can tell, the reason he started all this trouble with me was because he couldn't handle my adult-criticism of his hot temper against several forum members so many months ago.  Be warned, if you do ever disagree with quickseller, tread with caution or you may end up like me.

Wow amazingly people have said that about me in the past.

Cheers,

Spoetnik is very much alive and well.

He was last active today.

11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin XT Status Update on: August 16, 2015, 05:54:34 AM

How so? I'm running an XT node (as well as a bitcoin core / armory node and several SPV wallets).

1. Centralized - My node is not centralized or under the control of any centralized company. Matter of fact, I rely upon ~ 4 different wallet maintainers.
2. Blacklisting - Other than luke-jr, who is blacklisting?
3. Tracking - Bitcoin works over Tor/I2p/VPN. Whether you use a full node or SPV, you can maintain privacy if you desire that.
4. Banning - huh? that's r/bitcoin maybe. Not Bitcoin.

You need a serious Koolaid detox intervention asap.

Banning or blacklisting for illegal activities or any activity any reason one a select few deem so is banning regardless of how you label it.

~BCX~

Who or what is being banned or blacklisted by whom? Srsly, I don't know what you're talking about.

Haven't really bother in looking at Bitcoin XT beyond just downloading and running blindly I see.

Dig a little deeper then come back and talk.

One thing is for sure: you will never lose your coins, nomatter there will be a fork or not. The coins you already own exist on both chains.

Don't really understand crypto too well do you?

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin XT Status Update on: August 16, 2015, 02:11:25 AM
Bitcoin XT Update:

It's still Crypto-Paypal

1. Centralized
2. Blacklisting
3. Tracking
4. Banning

All at the whim of a select few.

Correct me if I am wrong.

15  Other / Meta / Re: Quickseller and Tomatocage on: August 16, 2015, 02:08:40 AM
You probably don't know this tspacepilot, but you can encrypt messages with multiple recipients using GPG, I was able to decrypt it.

If you're going to ask people to not rush to judgement against Hexcoin, you should do the same for Quickseller and Tomatocage if you want to be taken seriously.

Thank you BadBear for the information.  I don't know if you're implying that QS encrypted that message in order for Hexcoin to read it, but given the taunting and mocking tone of QS' message, its hard to believe that his intention was to be helpful.

As for rushing to judgment, I'd hardly call the 5 months of mocking, taunting, sockpuppet lying negative ratings (three of them from three different accounts), and an inability to explain himself or a legitimate reason for his attack rushing to judgment.  With respect to tomatocage, my only gripe with him is that he seems to be vouching for this kind of behavior now.  Are you also vouching for this kind of behavior?

My goal in posting was to call attention to the respectful tone of Shorena, asking for information and avoiding drama, and to contrast it to that of Quickseller, who in his first post in the thread, replies with taunting hautiness.  This same taunting hautiness had had me harrassed by QS for 5 months now, as he exploded in rage on me when I dared to call him a hothead in late March---I thought it wasn't cool to call people idiots and fools just because they disagree with you, and I have paid the price for having crossed him.  The amazing thing to me is that apprantely this kind of behavior is now sponsored.

I can tell that you guys have warned him not to reply in my thread on his behavior, that if he does so he risks legitimizing my complaints, that if he wants to keep his many false ratings on me and stay on default trust he's going to have to avoid explaining himself (since, apparantely there is no explanation).  Anyway, I know nothing of hexcoin's situation, but I recognize the bile of Quickseller all too well, and I thought it was worth it to contrast its style with Shorena's.

Don't post off topic and your post won't get deleted.

Don't play dumb!

~BCX~

Dear BCX,

Thank you for your very helpful reply.  I think I would take you more seriously if you didn't show up in every thread concerning quickseller and play vapid cheerleader.  Please take a moment to read the OP and consider whether it's okay that tomatocage can reply to me in that thread but I cannot reply to him asking him to move his reply to another thread.  If this is a little too complex for you to think about, just move along and try not to worry about it.

I hope you understand that sometimes the details matter.

Best,

TSP

Yes I think it is perfectly ok for TC to make a post and your off topic reply deleted.

The one thing that really makes me laugh over the years is people like you that think this is some sort of "fair, democratic, publicly controlled politically correct establishment"

It is not.

This is a PRIVATE forum that you voluntarily take part in.

It is not the official Bitcoin anything. Period.

You have "no right" to anything here.

If you don't like it here, GTFO.

last but not least, I could care less if you value my on point opinions or not.

17  Other / Meta / Re: Theymos (operator of Bitcointalk and Bitcoin subreddit) is censoring Bitcoin XT on: August 16, 2015, 01:48:39 AM
Most people know I am not a fan of how Theymos handles some things around here, so I have no reason to kiss his ass... that being said discussion of Bitcoin XT belongs in the altcoin section. It has its own blockchain, therefore it is not Bitcoin, no matter how much it is based on Bitcoin. If people start using XT and it "becomes" Bitcoin, then the Bitcoin core will be the one relegated to the altcoin section.

Until that day happens shut your mouth and trade your little altcoins with people who care about it. People arguing XT should be allowed in all of the Bitcoin main sections and Reddits are basically just namejacking and using a combination of semantics and people's ignorance of the protocol to drive a wedge between the community. If XT is so great, no one should have to sell it to anyone, people will just switch.

Hell has froze over, I  agree with Techshare entirely in his post.
