1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MINT]Mintcoin, Energy Saving Coin*43 Merchants*WALLET 1.7 MANDATORY! on: April 09, 2014, 06:12:54 PM
hi folks

i've just updated to the mac wallet but i can't run it properly
it crash ! with a message: error loading blkindex.dat

do i lost my MINT ? can you help me ?
what can i do ?

Did you backup your wallet.dat file?

...

no ...

fukin mavericks osx hides me my wallet folder and .dat

Yes, I believe Mavericks is different in many ways. Here are 2 ways to make it work that I use:

1. Open up finder, then up the top of the screen click on Go > Go to Folder, and type in ~/Library/Application Support
2. For a more permanent solution to showing the Library open the Terminal app and type < chflags nohidden Library > Now you can search for your wallet file in the finder.

I hope this helps. If not I will try to help you more if possible.
Thanks.

Mintcoin Rating:  STRONG BUY

I have been telling people for a while that one day Wall Street is going to wake up and discover a market that can go up 50% overnight.  Apparently that day has arrived.  On March 18th, it was announced that Dubai (richest city in the world?), is launching 400 bitcoin ATMs in the next 2 weeks.
Here is an unrelated news release from March 19th:  "Fortress Investment Group, which became the first Wall Street Company to declare an investment in Bitcoin, is rolling it's holdings into a $150m hedge fund that is targeting investments from cryptocurrency enthusiasts."  These are savvy investors that will be very impressed with Mintcoin.  Any one of these people could buy up the entire circulation of a coin and market them into mainstream investments.
Hello, can you please explain how it would be possible to buy the entire circulation of Mintcoins. I do not think it is possible. Unless everyone sells. If they do then how would the coin have any value to other investors? I may be wrong. Please let me know If so. It is important for me to know if all Mintcoins can be bought by wealthy investors as I am still learning about this new coin and how it works. Thank you.

Sorry, I should have been clearer on this.  I was speaking of all coins in general and figured that some of the ones sitting in the "dump" right now could be bought up 'almost' entirely.  I don't believe Mint has any chance of this happening (it has too strong of a community and momentum), but I do believe that the people selling it right now have no idea what they are parting with.  The point I'm trying to make in this post is that there is a lot of money coming into cryptocurrencies in the near future and we will not see these prices for Mintcoin  for very long.
This is very understandable to me. I should have not been so prescriptive in my reading. I understand the strength of your argument. Thank you.

He probably mistyped something and probably meant clearing all the asking prices at the exchanges when investors see the true potential of Mintcoin. You're right, it would be impossible for them to take hold of all Mintcoins in circulation.
That makes more sense to me. I should have thought in those lines first. Thank you.

As I am new. Can you please tell me if the price has ever fallen below 10 Satoshi once it raised above 10 Satoshi? Thank you.

Mintcoin is such a brilliant coin and even if it dropped to 10 satoshis again or lower, it will be bought up very quickly. The community is too strong and there is too much demand for it. The 20% Proof of Stake minting is very attractive combined with a strong and growing community.

There is 23 BTC buy order at 10 satosh, so that is probably not going to happen.  Cheesy
I also could find no evidence of the price treading below 10 Satoshi. I am part of that order. Thank you all.

If I understand what I read here. Keeping Mintcoins at exchanges allows them to Mint interest and sell it. It lowers the price. What if people take their coins out and then put them back in it should reset the 20 day hourglass. If everyone did that it would disallow exchanges to Mint. If that is correct then should everyone that wants to trade intraday take all coins out and put them back in and repeat that every 19 days. Please let me know if that is correct of incorrect. Thank you.

I have Bitcoin. Where is the best Mintcoin exchange to buy from?

I don't want to seem like I am vouching for Mintpal, but they've been very good to me.

I've put in tons of BTC and they've always come through. They are also very fast.

I would recommend avoiding Bter and Cryptsy. They have been bad to me.
I heard about Mintcoin today. I've never used an exchange before. Thank you for the advice. I will use Mintpal.

Good man. Be sure to get the word out about Mintcoin. Tell your friends and work colleagues and classmates. Everyone needs to know about how awesome this coin is. The dev's are great and the community is growing at an insane pace. The value just keeps getting better and better.
I am a woman, but I understand. Mintcoin has not been heard much of in Poland. I will tell some people. Thank you.
