Confirmed.

Edit: More units added to the GB.
902  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: December 23, 2014, 01:26:34 PM
SP-Tech competitors seem to be having a party about it.
competition is always good for us consumers.
now SP20 competes against S4 & S5 and considering bitmain can cut S5's price in half what is SP going to offer us ?

modules and controller is fine, will it still cover in warranty if I replace the sockets my self?

How did that happen?
everything is just fine for a week, but this morning smells like shit!

I know that smell  Grin

PSUs ok? What cable gauge? What PSU model? Cables came with the PSU?
PSU is ok, because both PSU and cables is not mine so im not sure the cable gauge but im sure they is not came with PSU
PSU:Super Flower Leadex Platinum 1200W
Our connectors are subtitle for up to 24A each and were tested in such condition at ambient of 40C.
Issue might be caused due to:
1. loose connectivity between the wire and the pin.
2. dis-connectivity of some of the wires causing over current on the connected wires.
3. over powering the PSU causing heat on wires to melt the connectors - can be for example due to wrong AWG or connectors that are not suitable for high power.
4. home made cables with long wires and unsuitable connector/wires.

Can you reply the following:
1. what was the power limit per each of the 4 inputs? (this is defined at the GUI)
2. did you use the ATX original cables?
3. what is the cable AWG?
4. what was the ambient temperature?

We'll check the PSU model you were using.
Please contact support for RMA, don't attempt to fix yourself. We kindly ask that you'll the PSU and cables for us for further testing.

Guy
1.all 288w but only use 230~270w report from ASIC stats
2.no (but cable that of the picture is)
3.I cant tell, maybe 10AWG or 9AWG
4.32C report from another working SP20

i don't wanna go RMA because i think the problem is on my plugs, if you give me a new one that is really not fair to you, i just want to keep this miner cover in warranty after i replaced the socket myself.
Indeed, it's most probably a problem with your cables.
Use of improper cables voids the warranty of course.
However, we want to investigate to be 100% sure.
Out of 1,000s of SP20 we sold, this is the first reported instance.
I'm offering you free RMA nevertheless, all we want is the PSU and cables.

Guy
but the PSU is my friend's, could you send it back to me after the testing?

Sure.
Thanks!
information please
Contact support@ and Barbara will explain the process.

Thanks,
Guy

one single voluntary RMA in thousands of orders and SP-Tech competitors seem to be having a party about it.
it's good that this community are so congratulatory on the successes of SP-Tech  Grin
We had other RMAs of course, this is the first instance of such sort in the SP20.

It would be seen that picture before, then I would not have ordered more SP20.
Thank you for the double post.

only see the wrong design from the very first SP20 .  There should be a 8x PCI-E.
true. maxing out power rating for the socket is very wrong decision
Please continue SP20 related technical discussions in our thread.
The manufacture takes 20% margines over the 288 Watt rating.
1. Where 288W per one molex came from?
2. Why video card manufacturers use two molex sockets? High end GPUs consume ~275w max

From the Molex connector manufacturer.

Tupsu, you seem to have a requirement to post only half of the story across many threads. The problem was caused by user error, as you can see here:

2 is many treads?
I posted here, and  to your personal  S5 topic
I do not see user error.
you can see the problem. the user put the wrong cables.

Not my thread, I'll be quick. You can continue in our thread.
The design is correct, each Molex connector is rated up to 288 Watt. We've tested much higher. Note that it's PSU output rating, not "at the wall".
We offered the customer RMA freely to investigate, he refuses out of " fairness", since he belives the problem is with his cables.
It's the first and only reported incident.

Just come back to bitcoin mining.
I am going to setup a mini farm, thinking about sp20 or Bitmain S5
However, can anyone tell me what is sp20 delivery time?
Noted that S5 will delivery on 27/12 .
Thanks.
Immediate shipping.

Fast question.  I want to take a sp20 running here and bring it to my friends office.  He has really cheap power deal. 3 cents a kwatt.

His net work router  is 192.168.1.1

my miner is on  a router that is 192.168.0.1

I have the miner with use DHCP marked off.

I assume it will find an open address on the new router lets say 192.168.1.101

If not do I have a factory reset option?
Enable DHCP again before turn it off.
Factory reset will re-enable DHCP.

Alternatively, ask your friend to (1) lease IP address in the DHCP table based on the miner MAC in advance (2) range of IP addresses outside DHCP range and pre-configure your miner to this IP address.

yes i left DHCP checked

where is the factory reset option located?

Settings, scroll all the way to the bottom. Second last option.
If you left the DHCP off and you're in a new network with different addresses, you'll need to do SD Recovery to re-enable the DHCP.

917  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: $50 Worth of Free Mining When you purchase +$200 of Hashpower with NexusMining on: December 22, 2014, 08:29:42 AM
Our company name and my private name were dragged into hot debate, so I need to comment:

- Nexus Mining is legit, they're currently white labeling a respectable cloud mining provider.

And how well do you personally vouch for the operators of Nexus Mining? It doesn't matter where they get their hashpower, if they are unwilling to provide answers to legitimate questions then they are not a legitimate business. They've already been busted on copying someone else's website.

...
Edit: I would like to disengage my involvement here. I was drugged into it. I would not reply publicly anymore in this thread. Please PM me if you want to continue the discussion.
918  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Review] Spondoolies SP20 review - A Green miner with a Loud fan on: December 22, 2014, 05:13:34 AM
The efficiency curve:

The lowest setting 0.58V is very unstable, usually half of the loops are disabled. At 0.59V I can achieve 809 GH with barely 376W at wall (0.465W/GH), and at 0.61V, I get 1TH with 500W, also feels great. The efficiency drops almost linearly across the voltage range, I did not test above 0.68V, which consumes around 950W

Nice. What's the PSU efficiency you're using at 500W-1KW levels ?
919  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Review] SP20 Jackson in pictures on: December 22, 2014, 04:23:48 AM
Well, I got my SP20 a little later than most and didn't get to the review as soon as I'd like, so this will be a bit different than most.
Most others have gone over the basic unboxing and review of the web interface, so I won't touch on that here. Instead, I'll go over a couple parts of the hashing board for people who might not know what all the parts are.
....
Thank you for an interesting, different, review.
920  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Closed] Legendaries review party of Spondoolies-Tech's SP20 on: December 22, 2014, 04:10:23 AM
I understand but these should really have all been collated here as it ends up being advertising for spondoolies on the forum that costs spondoolies but did not actually pay the forum. Unfortunately there is no merge function in this forum software which would be the ideal solution. Out of respect for the legendaries I've forgone the locking for now, but can I urge the reviewers themselves to lock their threads and refer back to this one once they have completed whatever they have to say instead then?

I'd say your 'urging' seems a tad aggressive and would advise against it.

To 'Urge' anyone to partake in an activity which may or may not be of his or her will, in this form of recommendation, seems clear to me that your purpose is to take the responsibility off the shoulders of the forum and it's moderators to restricting trade by Spondoolies-Tech, and 'urging' those who committed to collating a review, to do the restraining of trade, on behalf of the forum and it's moderators?
I say this, without any personal prejudice, and wholly respect the other work that you do for the community as a whole.
Thanks for your reasoned response.

All of you do whatever the fuck you want, see if I care.

ck you okay?

here is a link setup.

As the first review thread posted and  as the only reviewer that did not get one of these for free :

12 reviews with 2 due  is 14 threads plus this thread plus my  thread is 15 threads on the sp20 and that is a lot of threads.

I think  locking the threads in 1 week or 3 days or the  day after christmas or even the last day of hanukkah and placing the setup below in first post of this thread  is not such a bad idea.

I kind of feel responsible for starting this issue by doing the first review for free because I like the gear.
I have had people fight for me to get a free one.
I now see people like ck and raskul fighting.
I have seen more then one person calling the reviews spam
I post  on and use this forum a lot.
I rather see happy miners not angry ones.
I also posted my SP20E review here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=901758.0

I've locked the thread as per CK's recommendation.
Thank you for the review.
