I don’t believe anybody who participated in this project had financial gain on their mind, so any funds received via raffle or auction should go to a worthy cause either on or off the forum. But, I also don’t think it should go to a global charity because most of those are extortion campaigns veiled as nobility. What did I hear, that less than 10% of donated funds actually end up where they belong? Another problem Bitcoin fixes   Grin Just my 2 sats.

It's been a while since I've left a card in the wild, here's one for the thread, and a bump  Grin

Here's an update for the thread; The page that @Syren and I chose is coming along nicely. She, having more skill than I, is using some very neat techniques that take a bit of time to complete. I believe we should have this completed by 09/15 and I will be shipping it to Dane that weekend. I will reach out to Dane to get his shipping and update again when it's been sent on its way.

It's incredible to see the works already completed, the final product with all pages filled in is going to look incredible! It's such a privilege to be a part of this.

Cheers!

Very generous Owlcatz. I would sure like to be in on this raffle if welcomed.
It would be my first MX12 piece if I was lucky enough to be drawn! I will take any available number.
Thank you very much.

edit: missed owls previous post. I am humbled thank you!

I'm up next and responded to owlcatz.
This is a very exciting opportunity. I know I haven't been around as long as the others so I do appreciate it!

This is a nice update to know another page is completed. we are over half way there now
and only 5 pages to go. it would be great to try and get this finished this year and have
it ready for the very special day and anniversary of January 3rd 2024.... 🎇

As for this I don't plan to have the book for more than two weeks at the most, I don't see why it couldn't be done by then, now that it's in the US and customs is less of an issue.
Can't forget Bitcoin's 15th year  Grin Grin It would be a nice way to honor the occasion BTC

I had sent a high value card into PSA to be graded (Paid close to $200 for the grade). It came back much, much lower than it should have. It was a brand new card directly from the pack, and received a NM7. After I made a bit of noise, here is the response I was given…

> Thank you for reaching out to PSA Customer Care for some additional insight. We understand the desire to know the "why" behind a grade. Comparing your card to a picture online can be an instinctive response, but there are a lot of things that you simply can't see via images. Keep in mind that grading is three-dimensional, meaning that images flatten defects. There are many types of defects that, in order to see them, you must be able to move, tilt, and rotate the cards. Along with moving the cards to view them at multiple angles, lighting also plays a huge part in being able to see tiny defects. When reviewing your card, try putting your card in a low, single-light setting in a dark room, since bright lights can often "blow out" imperfections.

You may also find it interesting to learn that grades do not average out. If you have corners that meet the criteria of a 6, but you have a surface that meets the criteria of an 8 - your card would be a 6. It does not average out to a 7. You're welcome to review our grading standards here, but please keep in mind that in the end, the final grade is at the discretion of our experts.

While providing a detailed report regarding the result is not a part of our services, please be assured that your cards are always seen by a minimum of two independent graders and that their results must match before the order can be completed.

We hope that this information is helpful, and should you have any other questions please don't hesitate to reach out.

Thank you for choosing PSA.

I find the way they do things very unethical. Clearly they grade cards in the dark and make up reasons for low grades without explaining further. I will be using Beckett from here on out. I like that there are sub-grades with Beckett. Even though the cases are a little less appealing than PSA, I believe Beckett does a better job. Lesson learned going with the “standard for grading” PSA…

If you are getting diamond graded by psa, check that they don't wrongly describe them as onyx.  Maybe @jupityr can have them add 1/1 diamond to their database

I wouldn't use PSA personally. I've been so disappointed with their grades on cards that are virtually perfect it seriously makes me question their ethics. A card directly from a package into a sleeve should never be treated like a 30 year old frayed attic find, but that's how it goes I guess.

Considering sending some of the cards to be regraded by Beckett.

That SBF card makes my skin crawl. Disappointed to see such a heinous figure incorporated into this set.

Edit: Also see there’s a monkey boat club card too… jeez

I think my collecting ends with series 1

Interesting trade offer!

This is the Diamond Refractor #39 Peer-to-Peer. As you can tell from the pictures this is an extremely exuberant card. From the magnitude of the color palette, to the depth of the Diamond ridges, it's quite a card to hold in your hands. The Diamond imprint on this card is very deep. It has an almost 3D appearance as the light reflects against the card. This card has never been handled by bear hands, I have used a white glove to move it from the package Cardsmiths sent me, and to the holder for pictures. It does not currently, and hopefully never will have fingerprints on it.

I bring this to your attention today as I am looking to leverage this card to help me collect MR5 Gemstones. I am looking to work towards accumulating all of the MR5's. I currently have a CS, Holo, and Beryl MR5. That leaves the rest. If you have MR5 gemstones, and this post appeals to you, please reach out to me!

There's a possibility I will auction this on eBay, however I would really prefer to keep this within the community and trade for what I need. I don’t have Reddit, so I will only post this here. However if someone wants to repost this over there for visibility that would be fine with me and much appreciated!

Cheers, and thanks for the consideration.
