Why hasn't the stock value dropped at https://cryptostocks.com/securities/79 ?

I would think the stock value should have dropped 80% or more.

The Volume doesn't look like they sold a bunch of stock to help reimburse the loss.

only 5% of Mkt cap in the last week was traded, So it's NOT looking as if they sold a large amount of their own stock to finance the reopen.

But it's nice that they are saying they are working on getting the mess cleaned up. Meanwhile there are secondary sites where I can still trade at.

calm down. ive been through the loop with coinex in these situations more times than one. if they say everything will be fine, it will be. if they say they will be online soon.. they will be. if they said you havent lost a penny because ur covered.. that's the way it is.

btw bitcoin based insurance is a brilliant idea.. hope you guys can achieve that deal. its what mtgox shouldve done. but if u guys achieve this it will really be a big win not only for bitcoin but for your exchange. Best Wishes to Coinex team.

and cut your wife a deal.. since she is ready to punish you for losing, she should reward you for everything being alright ;p

Rather than paying someone else for insurance they could (self insure) create an escrow account and store it in other ways at two or three other places and in Yen and gold and CD's.

If they have a 2% fee on trades and mining then they could dedicate 10% of that to an escrow of up to 20% of the customer wallet they are holding. And once reached use the 10% to beef up and maintain the security.

More importantly is having someone really smart that's dedicated to the security issues. They can deflect and minimize and then hopefully stop a hacker cold. They can set traps and trackers to help catch them. the possibilities are out there to stop them or at least trip them up and catch them, but if they aren't trying then it won't happen.

They had a great thing going and I'd hate to see the site become history, I have had fun trading there.

Well, I appreciate the update.  But that does little to console, as my hundreds of VTC's have now vanished, and right during the midst of a price surge after sitting stagnant for weeks.

Ha.  Oh effin' well.

Do we have any tentative ETA on when we can possibly expect to get our coins back?  Or does anyone from the last 'hacking' fiasco remember how long it took to get their stuff back?

If they are having a hard time raising funds to get back up and running they could do it 50% pay back and then give all those that lost coins a free NO cost or 50% off all the trades and mining fees for 6 months or a year as a group and then charge NEW people to the site the regular fees.  The one thing they need to do is make it secure. They should have someone (maybe a contractor) that does nothing but work on the security.

There are plenty of ways they can work it out so that they don't go dark.

I would too if I was him.

I found this on Bitcurex.com it looks like they were robbed this past few days.
I wonder if the two thefts are connected in any way?

Dear Users,

First of all, we would like to thank all of you for your patience and understanding that you have shown during the last couple of dozen hours. We thank all our Users from Poland and abroad who contacted us and stressed their faith in resolving this situation in an positive way, despite the black scenarios that everybody must have thought about.

We are proud to inform you that we are resuming our service with all its functionalities on March 18 (Tuesday) at the latest. We will inform you about the exact hour of resuming the service soon. The service will be brought back to its state from before the attack using the backup copies.

The thief did not manage to break our security measures protecting your accounts nor gain full access to operational Hot Wallet Bitcurex. Thanks to our safety procedures, after the initial non- authorised transactions, the thief was prevented from making any further operations. Then the service was shut down to carry out repair works and implement the necessary improvements to our system.

Our internal procedures prevented any further losses, which were limited to between 10 and 20 percent of our operational Hot Wallet Bitcurex. Because of realistic chances of filing criminal charges against those who are responsible, in order to allow an effective official investigation, we prefer not to disclose details that could facilitate destroying evidence.

All the incurred losses were covered from the funds gathered by Digital Future – the owner of Bitcurex. Our fees will not be raised, nor will we introduce any other restrictions.
