Leverkusen vs Wolfsburg

I think this is going to be really easy for Leverkusen. Because we can decide that by simply looking at the last five matches. Leverkusen has not lost or even dropped any points in the last five and meanwhile, Wolfsburg has not been able to win a single match in the last five. So there is a huge difference between the current form of both of them. So they should not be anything other than a 3 point for  Leverkusen. And it definitely looks like they might take the Bundesliga title this season.

We have the Coppa Italia semi final draw after the last results:

- Fiorentina - Atalanta
- Juventus - Lazio

Atalanta and Lazio have reached this stage by eliminating really tough teams such as Milan and Roma respectively. Therefore Fiorentina and Juventus might need to be extra careful in their matches. But still especially Juventus' recent performance is very convincing. I don't think Lazio can eliminate them even though there are 2 legs in the draw. This season is really important for Allegri to consolidate his seat. He had better aim the Coppa Italia and Serie A titles both.  Smiley

It is still quite a long way away. Both the matches are going to be played on the 3rd of April if I recall correctly. A lot of things can change by that time. I don't know how these teams are going to perform after more than 2 months. The current performance of Juventus does look good. But the current performance and the performance of Juventus, or any team as that matter of fact, could be very different from the performance of 2 months later. So let's not think about that too much right now. And hope that all the teams will have the players available and they will not have any injury problems.

Looking at how shaky Newcastle United form is and how they have been playing this season, I don’t think Newcastle United can make champions league spot again this season. They qualify to the champions league for the first time in ten years only to get knocked out in the group stage. Eddie Howe will be disappointed with how the team is doing this season. They showed so much promise last season, one would expect to see them fighting for too four position this season.

Newcastle United is currently 8 points behind the fourth-position team. That is definitely not a good thing for them. But at the same time, I do not think it is going to be impossible for them to actually finish in the top four. If we look at the current form of Newcastle United, we can see that they are not doing well at all. Now if they actually want to finish in the top four, they will have to start performing far better compared to what they are doing right now. They have been pretty inconsistent so far. They will have to be consistent in their performance. Otherwise, they are not finishing in the top four. Because the competition is higher in this season.
5  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: January 10, 2024, 11:06:27 AM
On paper, Real are the clear favorites and should beat Atletico. Atletico are showing a questionable performance with a lot of goals they are conceding and at the moment they are not even in the top 4 in La Liga. On the other hand, derbies are always games where the underdog has increased chances, plus this season Atletico have already beaten Real once. I hope they can't do it a second time because I want Real Madrid to make the treble.
It has always been that way on paper with Madrid being the favorites when it comes to their derby. But with all the upset that have been going on I don't think Madrid are up to the task to beat Atletico Madrid because ever since Real Madrid have been having injury problems they don't play like they used to, the pressure given to oppositions ain't there.
The major reason why I feel Atletico Madrid have been conceding much goals is because they have been transformed into something different from the ATM we used to know, we know Diego Simeone as a coach who likes defending more than attacking and playing interesting football but now things have changed.
The coach Diego Simeone plays more of the attacking and scoring but less of the defending that why he concedes more goals. I believe if he combine the attacking, flexible football and defending he can have a very strong team to beat Real Madrid in that fixture, as it is Madrid are no threat to any team except the team doesn't take chances. To me I don't think it would be hard for Diego Simeone to get a win that's if he puts things in the right place.

I know that the performance from Atletico Madrid has improved this season. But I don't think it has improved well enough so that they can actually beat Real Madrid. Let's also remember that Real Madrid is performing far better compared to what they were doing in the last season. And Real Madrid also needs to make a point difference positively with the team Girona who has been surprising everyone. So I believe Real Madrid is actually going to go for a win and they are going to go hard at Atletico Madrid. I do not know if going aggressive against Real Madrid is actually going to work out for Atletico Madrid.

~~ Snip ~~

It would be nice if the Bundesliga had a new champion at the end of the season, that is the sentence that represents Laverkusen and their chances of winning it. Saying this does not mean underestimating what Tuchel and Bayern Munchen have, because we really understand that Bayern has the attributes to make any team bow before them in the second half of the season. In the end, all contestants will again admit that Bayern dominance has not been broken. Therefore, Xabi must try to continue to develop, collecting point by point, if they want to realize their dreams.

"Neverkusen" is the nickname given to Xabi squad because of their failures in the past, this season there is an opportunity for Xabi to make everyone correct this nickname and must say it eloquently and correctly as "Bayer Leverkusen". Who knows, luck will come to Xabi and his Leverkusen this season, and in the end we will see them become the new champions of the Bundesliga.

I actually want to see a new champion in the Bundesliga. The competition has been so one-sided for a very long time that it has actually become boring. But this season Bayer Leverkusen have actually been able to throw some life back into this competition. Next time it seems like a new champion might be possible. But of course, nothing is certain. Anything can still happen and for Leverkusen to be able to win the Bundesliga title, they will have to be consistent throughout the whole season. I would not even mind if they did not do well in the Europa League competition. I want them to win the Bundesliga title.

This is gonna be hurting the reputation of saudi pro league. If those guys will be coming back to the EPL then the european players must be thinking for twice before try to join in the club. I meant that if in fact, ronaldo has been building this thing slowly but i think that those players will be giving bad perspective about saudi pro league. This will be hurting the league caused by they will be feeling even more difficult to get the new player from european competition. I think that this news is a negative news for saudi pro league.

Ronaldo and other clubs have been starting to build the reputation from this league since last season and the bad review from all of players who comeback to the EPL will become a boomerang for saudi pro league.
The negative aspect lies in the management of the club, which plays a crucial role in maintaining the club's reputation and ensuring that its players feel confident and comfortable. There may be more players to leave from there.
Mitrovic potentially back to the european competition someday, he was still showing impressive performance despite his age which was more than 30 years.
I mean not really? I do not think that any player went there thinking that they would have an easy time, we all knew that the cultures for exactly the opposite, and that is why it wouldn't feel right.

We are talking about people who grew up on totally different culture, and Saudi Arabia, even though I may get some hatred for saying this, is not as "independent" as it may feel like, the rules are a bit more strict there, you have to at least agree that there are more things banned there that footballers were allowed in nations like UK, so it might take time to adjust but also if we would like to support the Saudi clubs, none of the players went there for a holiday, they were paid top dollar, more money than they could make rest of their career for a single season, they should also be professionals and give their all, for money that much the clubs deserve it.

I honestly think that the players went to the Saudi League thinking that it was going to be easy between players that are playing there. Because of course, they are going to the Saudi League from the English Premier League. So they are supposed to be the best players. But when the situation is different, it is hard sometimes. And I think the amount of money that they are getting from the Saudi clubs, they should work a lot harder compared to what they are doing right now. If they come back to the English Premier League, it is going to be much more harder for them and they will also have to take a lot less money as salary. If they think it is going to be worth it at this age, they might be wrong.
8  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 09, 2024, 07:55:12 PM
The ground on which the second Test match between India vs South Africa was played ended in less than two days, earning a demerit point by the ICC. The match ended two days early and both teams bowled a total of 600+ balls due to which the second Test ground earned this demerit from the ICC. Earlier we also saw that against New Zealand, Bangladesh earned a team score point from the ICC for producing such poor wickets. Basically ICC gives such demerit points if the wicket is of extra poor quality.
Makes sense! Personally, I enjoyed the test since wickets were falling like dominoes everywhere and it turned into an ODI before we knew it. The ICC should start giving demerit points to themselves too for some of their shitty, archaic rules.

They need to give demerit points to umpires too since their decisions are turning out to be wrong way too often in recent times.

Not surprised about the demerit points, to be honest. I saw that coming when the first day was played on that ground. No test match should end that early. That was a total bowler’s heaven. Although I enjoy these kinds of bowler dominant test matches, I think this match was over too quickly. But hats off to Markram for the way he batted in the 2nd innings and got that century.
9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: January 09, 2024, 05:54:38 PM
With the current performance of Bayern Leverkusen I have a great confidence that they will surely win the league because they have shown themselves worthy to become the Bundesliga league 1 champion, however Bayern Munich have been there only nightmare because Bayern Munich is looking for every opportunity to bring them down from the first position of the league but could not, do to how strong in performance Bayern Leverkusen is and also there consistency on this season league is something to write home about because they have actually proven to Bayern Munich that they have the performance that cannot be stop by them.

However Bayern Leverkusen is leading with 42 points while Bayern Munich is currently 38 points and however the Bayern Leverkusen upcoming matches is a very sure win match for them because there performance is far better than those clubs and at the same time making Bayern Munich chances of entering the first position very impossible for them.
They did provide a great sight so far, but that doesn't mean that they will win, it is not going to be easy for them to get that title, and it would not be simple for any team to fight against someone like Bayern.

But Bayern in any league and you will have some trouble, which I would assume would not be easy, you can put them at Premier league and they would still fight for the top, not saying they would get it, but they would be somewhere near the top, same goes for serie A, la liga, ligue 1 and everything else. I am not saying they would win them all, but they would be one of the best teams in all of them. So Bundesliga is hard to win when Bayern is there, we don't know what will happen but it will definitely be tough.

Bayer Leverkusen will have to prove that they can win the Bundesliga title to actually make people believe. Because we have seen a lot of things that have been unbelievable but true. Since the last 11 years, a lot of teams, especially Dortmund had very good chances to beat Bayern Munich for the Bundesliga title. Even after getting so many good chances, Bayern Munich has been able to win the Bundesliga title for 11 years straight. So even though they have four points advantage, they will have to remember that they have also played one match more compared to Bayern Munich. So they will have to keep in mind that the point difference can decrease very quickly.

I think what Fabrizio has said about Mbappe is more than enough for us to say what state they are in right now. Mbappe won't be leaving PSG anytime soon or at least this January. Mbappe's camp has said that he has not decided yet and since it's already 1 week in January. If the move were to happen, we would have already heard something from Fabrizio or some other rumors. Although we have heard something about them, Fabrizio's statement makes it clear that nothing is going on between them.
So, are the rumors of a move to Real Madrid over this season?
I don't see Mbappe as Real Madrid's most wanted striker so far, even if Mbappe wants to go there. Real Madrid haven't tried to sign Mbappe so far and I don't see them making him an offer, but the rumors will persist until Mbappe is no longer in PSG uniform.

Apart from Real Madrid, I think Kylian Mbappe also has the potential to join one of the Premier League teams. Of course we don't know where we will play, but what is clear is that PSG will not let Mbappe go without profit. If possible, I would like to see Mbappe at Arsenal if he really wants to move to the Premier League.

I have a feeling that it is going to be the same story again. They are going to offer him a shitload of money and he is going to end up staying in PSG. And even if they do not offer him more money right now, think Real Madrid is probably not going to offer him the same amount at this moment, especially after what he has done so far.

So knowing that I don't think it is going to be a wild idea to think that he is going to end up staying in PSG again. And there is going to be a lot of drama again. Honestly, if he really wanted to play for Real Madrid so that, he would have left a long time ago. When I think about Barcelona and the players that they have, I realize there are players who literally are not getting paid the promised money and they are still playing for Barcelona. And then we have Mbappe wanting to play for Real Madrid. Absolutely hilarious.
11  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: January 08, 2024, 08:05:33 PM
India Women vs Australia Women 3rd T20I is equally important for both teams. Because India won the first T20I match and Australia won the second T20I match. So the third T20 is equally important for both the team which will win the series. However, it cannot be said in advance which team will win the third T20 match. Because both teams are playing well although in the second t20 match we saw India's batting disaster but in the first t20 match India batted brilliantly and won by nine wickets. So it is not clear which team will win the third T20 match and confirm the series. Best wishes to both teams.

Yes, this is going to be the decider of the series. The winner of this match is going to win the t20 series. I have my hopes for Australia. Even though the match is going to be played in India, and India is definitely going to have some advantage because of that, I believe Australian women are actually better skilled compared to Indian women. Especially on the bowling side. But at the same time, if Indian batsmen actually get going, it is going to be hard for Australian women to stop them. But again, I believe Australia has the necessary skills. I am expecting Australia to win. But of course, this match is going to be a 50/50.
12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: January 08, 2024, 07:44:06 PM
There was nothing impressive about PSG big win and Mbappe hat-trick in this match because after all, the opponents PSG faced were also a team that didn't know what league to play in and also played in which league. Because ya, after all, there is no record about Revel playing in what division of the league and based on existing records too, that Revel only played in the Coupe de France and I think that is clearly a bad record.

Therefore, playing against PSG is definitely not a worthy opponent because after all, PSG clearly has better quality. Also, this big win has absolutely no impact on PSG performance in Ligue 1 because anyway, there was no impressive resistance made by Revel in this match. Clearly, this is a team that is very different in terms of quality for all the factors involved.

That is where remorse should kick in for Mbappe. He could have won several individual awards by now for being the best player in the world, but for as long as he stays at PSG he won't have a chance to compete with the world's best players that play for Manchester City, Real Madrid etc.

This transfer saga was exciting at times, but the bad part about it is that there was a talent on the line, a player risking the whole career and the potential legacy for money. That is his situation. He should put an end to that as quickly as possible and move on. He has enough money now. It can't be about the money and I think people around the world would be rolling their eyes if he unexpectedly decides to stay even longer in exchange for another billion euors.

PSG winning by a huge scoreline against a team that people just have not even heard the name of is honestly not an achievement for PSG in my opinion. And I absolutely agree with you @hahay that they were not a worthy opponent for PSG. I don't think this win actually means anything to anyone. Of course, the loss for the opponent was absolutely humongous. But I don't think PSG should actually be proud of anything that they have achieved from this match. Because we don't see this performance from them in the Champions League. And even they will agree that the Champions League is the competition that they actually care about the most.
13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: January 07, 2024, 06:33:38 PM
This is just disappointing at this point for Napoli. Who would say that they are the defending champions of the Seriei A right now? They are in the 9th position of the Serie A right now and if things continue as they are then probably they won't be able to play even the UCL. They are far away from The Champions League spot.

I know it was an away match but their performance was too poor. Torino is not that strong of a team and if they are struggling and losing by this margin then they won’t be able to beat Barcelona next month in the UCL playoffs. Things are getting really out of hand for Napoli.

Last season they were very strong. even winning Serie A with great dominance. Their performance has dropped this season, this cannot be separated from several players who have left and also their coach.
a difficult situation for them when they are already very good with their players and their coach's strategy. but when there is a change in the team, the situation could be very bad for Napoli. and we see it today.
they must immediately get momentum and their best game back. but they may have to put their trophy dreams aside this season. they are quite far from it all.

I think the problem is that the manager has changed and the new manager is not performing or doing as good as the manager before. I mean it is very evident, that the players haven't changed that much, only the management has changed and it seemed to be affecting him a lot. But they did manage to get into the Playoffs of the Uefa Champions League so big they have something going for them. But they need to do something in the January transfer market to get to the next stage of the Uefa Champions League.
14  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: January 07, 2024, 05:22:11 PM
Torino - Napoli 3-0 and game by game Napoli is losing chances to catch top 6 that will lead them at least to Conference League and by the way current team is playing , honestly I don't think they will make it.

Udinese - Lazio 1-2 and a very important victory for Lazio and well deserved 3 points that put them back into the fight for top 6.

Roma - Atalanta  should bring 3 points to Roma as a draw will help only Atalanta.

Wow, when I saw the result I couldn't figure out why the score was so big, but the red card at the beginning of the first half closed the question of the winner. To be fair, it should be noted that, apparently, Torino was better in the first half, and Napoli failed to take advantage of their only chance. Although Napoli is only 5 points behind 4th place, the chances of taking it are illusory - there are too many competitors ahead: Fiorentna, Bologna, Lazio, Atalanta, Roma. I am 100% sure that one of these teams will be lucky and will not allow Napoli to overtake them even if Napoli suddenly starts playing well.

News are coming from England. Beşiktaş is interested in Newcastle United's captain Jamaal Lascelles. Lascelles doesn't get many chances as Eddie Howe uses Fabian Schar and Sven Botman in defence. Beşiktaş would be the right choice for Lascelles, who lost his place in the first 11 after Botman returned from injury. He can play as a leading defender there. At this stage of his career, he has the chance to earn good money and play in the most beautiful stadium in the world and in front of the biggest fans. Lascelles seems to have caught an opportunity he shouldn't miss.

I think the move is too early for his career. If he goes to Turkey right now you know there is no coming back in the big leagues or in the big teams. I know he doesn't get many chances but he is only 30 years old and I believe he can stay there for 4-5 more years and then decide to go for MLS or Saudi Pro League or Turkish leagues. So I believe it is too early in his career to leave for the Turkish league. If he wants to leave, he can go for other clubs in the big leagues but I believe Besiktas is not the right option.
16  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: January 06, 2024, 07:40:15 PM
Girona is still the best in the LA Liga thus far with their level of control, confidence and coordination. At this point, I must give all hails to their ever-present and forward manager Miguel Ángel Sánchez Muñoz. And all the players who have remained very active and steadfast to the effort of taking Girona to the top of the LA Liga titles. The commitment have been a vehemently interesting one.
They are a combination of experienced young and old players. Many old players from big clubs are thrown away. Munoz made a great combination and succeeded in generating fighting spirit. Girona players don't have many star players, but the mentality of fighting, fighting, coordination between players is really good. I don't believe they are champions yet, but right now they have a big chance.

@iBaba I would argue about this because Real Madrid still are the best in every aspect of the game because of their experienced players and the youngsters. But I must give it to Girona because of the fight that they are giving and keeping up with Real Madrid. Girona indeed got the fighting mentality but I don't think it will be enough for them to get the title putting Real Madrid behind. Sure they got the skills as well, but those won’t be enough.
17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: January 06, 2024, 07:00:36 PM
Bundesliga teams are playing friendly matches one week before resuming league games.
I see that Bayern Munich got a 1 - 1 draw with Basel Switzerland although the first team participated in this match along with substitutes.. I don't want to get conclusions since it is just a friendly match but Bayern Munich could do better than that. Dortmund ended its match with AZ Alkmaar with a draw too, this time 2 goals for each team. Bayer Leverkusen will play tomorrow and Leipzig had a game against another Switzerland team, St Gallen and as they said, they started the new year well with a 1 - 0 victory Roll Eyes
Leipzig had a challenging game against Frankfurt in round 17 comparing to the other top teams but they look favourite especially when they will play home.

I don't think we should be bothered about these friendly matches at all, to be honest. Because after all, no one gives it their all in this match. They don't even put half of the effort they put in an average Bundesliga game or something. Friendly matches should not be the factor to judge a team for unless it is an international match.

Bayern Munich are doing alright at the moment and better than previous seasons if we compare their performances from previous seasons. It is just due to the extraordinary performance of Bayer Leverkusen, Bayern Munich's performance has been overshadowed.

Liverpool can survive without these key players. After all Mohammed Salah is leaving for the AFCON but it doesn't mean he won't come back, he will be present in Anfield before any opponents will start tendering threats. Jurgen Klopp always know what to do to secure his territory, no invasion will be completed because Liverpool will continue to record streak winnings, they're leading team on the table, they will be ready to execute good positioning. Rumors holding on the Egypt international regarding Mohammed Salah moving to Saudi Pro League.
We shall see what happens this month, but Manchester City is already going to gain tabs on them, and you know what happens when Manchester City is as the top of the league, and it's the second half of the season.

To me, Salah will surely be missed by them, even if it's just for a month.

They have their match against Arsenal Tomorrow for the FA Cup and I think against Arsenal it would cost them dearly. In the Liverpool vs Arsenal match, Salah did a very good job. Salah is the backbone of their attack, and him leaving for 1 match against a team as strong as Arsenal is going to hurt them.

They will have a match in the Premier League in Bournemouth as well. I don't think that will be a problem as Bournemouth is not that strong of a team. They still got Trent Alexander Arnold, Nunez, and others still for the attack so I believe they will be enough to pull through against Bournemouth. They cannot afford to drop any points as Manchester City are back in business.

Zimbabwe tour of Sri Lanka

In this tour they will play two series ODI and T20I series. Both series have three three matches. Tomorrow the ODI series will be started and Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka will face each other. In we took a look on ICC World cup so we remembered that Sri Lanka didn't played well. Sri Lanka is still looking more strong. By the way we can't predict correctly which team will win the series or the matches. So tomorrow performance will show everything. I hope Sri Lanka will win the series.

I don't think it is hard to predict who will win the matches here, to be honest. I know Zimbabwe are kind of a strong team but at the end of the day kind of let everyone down. Zimbabwe failed to qualify for the T20 when they failed to beat weak teams. I don't see any point in Sri Lanka playing with Zimbabwe while they got a World Cup coming up. They should play with someone stronger to better prepare for the World Cup.
20  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: January 03, 2024, 06:45:24 PM

the situation will be difficult for PSG if Mbappe leaves them. especially if PSG is not ready to replace him in the team. they will negotiate for Mbappe to stay with PSG. but Mbappe wants development and challenges. and the Premier League is a good place for him to develop alongside tougher competition. we have to realize that the French League is not as tight as the English League. maybe Mbappe realized that.
Mbappe really wants to leave PSG on the grounds of growth and further development in his career as this has always been the bases and reason for wanting to leave PSG because the French league in it's entirety isn't helping with development and it's aswell looking more like a mediocre league as the day goes by.

Premier league isn't a place for development either, if mabppe moves to England he will only be in competition and not develop, england isn't a place for development but advancements due to the nature of the league, it's competitiveness and the level of attention it attracts aswell ares such that only players who are looking forward to advance on bigger platforms gets the best out of premier league but for developing players they may not Excel that much as they will in other leagues ,I think mbappe will do even better if he goes to Spain rather than england.

I don't think it will be a problem for PSG if Mbappe leaves in Ligue 1. But in the UEFA Champions League, They will face big problems. They have a match with Real Sociedad in the UEFA Champions League and I think without Mbappe they will struggle against them. PSG has achieved a good lead and I believe that would make them comfortable in Ligue 1. If they had not had that, they probably would have been in danger.

But to be honest I don't see Mbappe leaving. Because if he were to leave, we already would have heard some rumors by now. Real Madrid also said they wouldn't be buying any new players, so Mbappe wouldn't be joining Real Madrid. And I don't think any other team can afford him.
