Good news....

I came here looking to see if Hashlets were worth it and I came out with conspiracies of GAW being a ponzi. Great.

Seems you lit the blue touch paper...

As far as my experience with Hashlets, got in early and took advantage of all the 'upgrades' and price rises then sold out at the first opportunity. Made some Btc and was happy.

Got banned from their forum along the way for asking why they were banning so many people. Had only gone there to find out what was happening as it seemed at the time the only way the communicated with customers.

Would not now invest as, if nothing else, the figures don't point to profit in the current market. In the interest of fairness, you'd be hard pressed to find any that did.

There is a good calculator for such things on this site in case you haven't found it :-
https://bitcoinwisdom.com

Good luck with any investment you care to make.

Does he drop the price of the packages after a multiplication?

Sorry to see them go. Who'd have though anonymity would become an issue on the internet...

My answer to the OP's question would be - neither.

Like to hear why also?

Hay, Anyone tried using a GTX770 and can share their setup?
Using cgminer 3.7.7b can only get to around 35k at best.

You could try http://ltcgeartalk.net/index.php?board=3.0
May have to pay a bit over the odds though.

I'm still not understanding why two PCIe cables are okay to pull 366w (183w per cable) to run the S3 in normal mode, but requires 4 PCIe cables just to carry an additional 12w per cable ( (390/2) -183) to over clock?

All you need to know is that 6pin PCI-e connector rating is 75watts. How much you choose to exceed that rating by is up to you. (and your insurance company)

Does this mean just running stock S1's we are already pulling 108w too much through each pci without any overclocking? That's assuming you don't use the screw in terminals, which most people don't. And on my psu's it looks like the 6+2 connectors are the exact same makeup and thickness as the 8 pin pci connector but supposedly 8 pin connectors are rated for 150w each right? Weird. Just going by the S1, 360w stock and around 420w+ at the wall over clocked for 200gh/s it sounds like we could atleast overclock the S3 to 500gh/s safely with 2 pci-e and anything 500-520+ you may need the additional 2 pci plugs. But who knows till we get some in hand.

Having 2 connectors per board helps to cover Bitmain for CE approval (if they really applied for this)

The rating for PCIe connectors is only to comply with the standard for GPU units

In practice, you can run what you want through a connector.

The limiting factors are the cable size and the resistive heat build up in the plug and socket.

Clean, descent spec. plugs from a reputable supplier will carry more current than cheap/dirty ones.

Having said all this, then YOU take your own chances of a meltdown, as only the end user (miner) actually see what is connected.

You also have to take into account the rating of the track on the PCB taking the power away from the plug. They make wonderful fuses...

This page will give you some idea of what you should use as a difficulty increment :- https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty

I don't understand why people keep referencing this website.  I proved it was wrong last change.  It called a 30%+ increase 3 days before the change, when the numbers showed about 24% - 25%.

Right now the numbers are showing a decrease in difficulty.. but this website seems to be arbitrarily picking 11% increase.

M

It's not arbitrary at all. Bitcoinwisdom bases it's estimation on the time it took to find the last 2016 blocks just like bitcoin does.

And for a newbie the history at the bottom of the page is very useful.

Just to know if this S3 ROI or not, made simple maths:

lets imagine i buy 50 S3.

50 S3 = 23900 GH/s without overclock
25 pairs x 1,48 BTC = 37 BTC = 23888.57 $

And for power costs, i calculate around 34 $ / S3 without overclock / month(costs 0.18 $kwh). So 34 x 50 = 1700 $ / month all together.

Right now, if you have 23.900 GH/s you earn / month --> 14083.18 $

So imagine:

14.083$(earnings) - 1.700$(power) = 12.383 $ / month.

We have difficulty increases, yeah, but right now, i see next difficulty will be 15998489889.0 / -4.9% [est.], is that correct??. Difficulty decrease?. Anyways, i think S3 ROI, but of course im just a noob here and its just my simple maths  Grin

I dont have to buy PSU also, as i have 2 corsair CX750M from my S1īs

Stick the costs for you're location in on the left of this web site :- https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/calculator
