Funding is critical of course, but even the best capitalized technology companies in the world, the big guys, are notoriously late to market for pre-announced products. PRE-ORDER model that funds development is just silly. Please don't waste your money. Maybe (with respect) it's a lack of experience or willing suspension of disbelief or simple naivite, but the mining community in particular seems to be susceptible to this kind of bad decision making. This is not a reflection on the 'good faith-ness' of the vendors, I'm sure their hearts are in the right place, it's just good business and common sense when you're dealing with a product in the development phase, especially in this case where timing is so critical. I think this is more fitting for a crowdfunding platform like Kickstarter where the delivery date is highly speculative.
