Thank you for your reply, however, I have already received my return on investment plus half the original investment. My question wasn't regarding whether or not I am going to be scammed, which is a fairly trivial and uninteresting question, but rather what I can learn from this.

I am interested in what meaning there is in altering the compounding percentage of my investment... I of course understand the concept of compounding interest but I am confused as to the practical application of adjusting this with respect to the time period given, or if there is a relationship. Perhaps it could even be a bug on the site? Completely naive to this.... DERP! This is what my screen looks like:

Hi I have a quick question for you Bitcoiners out there and cryptolovers alike:

I use the site "Gigacoiner" which is basically a HYIP that allows me to receive a 210% return on my BTC over the course of 30 days. I noticed on the site that you can change the compounding interest percentage on the individual investments.... Does anyone have any idea what this signifies?

For example, what would the daily profit be (over a 30 day period) at the following compounding rates?

20%
30%
40%
50%
60%
70%
80%
90%
100%

Also, since they operate and make their money on arbitrage and ask/bid spreads, how would this affrect the security of my money, if at all? Thanks in advance!

This is a really cool website, though I can't comment as to the fairness of the betting mechansmism. You play by watching the real time market data of an assett such as gold, bitcoin, etc, and guessing whether it will go up or down in the next 60 seconds. Beautiful interface! Haven't risked any BTC yet playing though.

A little update:

I have been in this for 19 days now, and have nearly obtained a ROI. The referral links have definitely been helping, and I could quite possibly at this point invest more and obtain a ROI. I have obtained .0063 BTC as well for a referral deposit. This is actually a pretty good deal if you want to earn some extra money on your BTC! I am going to reinvest shortly.

Digitally distributed items such as codes or vouchers etc. (basically all forms of instant transfer articles or items) are the most common target for this type of finance securing when there isn't another party involved.

Take your current expenses and reduce them by 40%. Figure out the age that you would retire regardless of whether or not bit coin continues to succeed, find the most conservative 20 year forecast you can find for the value of the coins and divide by 5000%. I think you can see where to go from here? Find the amount of monthly income you need (with a 40% reduction from what you would need now in a restful period of time.) and calculate it on a lower than your most conservative calculation basis. Don't include BTC speculation in any insurance or medical expenses you plan for. Don't include it in any major milestone vacations you plan to take. The Bitcoin aspect of your investment portfolio is a lot like playing casino dice games to pad your retirement. It's entirely subject to failure as is any currency, however currently lacks the simplicity of a universally accepted fiat currency, unfortunately. Planning for the most conservative scenario possible will give you a realistic perspective for your future.

There's a few sites that have cropped up - gift card drainer is one of them that pays either to bitcoin or paypal, with a fee structure that is based on the cost of the currency handling plus a flat transaction fee, with the USD pegged to the bitcoin, so utlimately everything is calculated in USD and then divided by the current exchange rate for BTC. It appears that the site administrators, however, are doing some impromptu research into the legality of the operation. I hope that someone figures out a good solution because I am nearly swimming in a bunch of gift cards that I would very much love to turn into bitcoon!!!

I was going to sell this on E-Bay as well but I seem to get raked there selling any type of test equipment. Thanks! To be 100% honest, I deposited .0125 BTC at GigaCoiner.... received back the expected .0005 so far but it will be interesting to see how long that goes on... Also, I thought for sure before I signed up I could "withdraw my funds at any time." There's certainly no option on the website to withdraw my coins... DERP

Thanks again for the great link - I'll keep this updated as to whether or not I see any more payments!
