201  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling in METAVERSE on: March 19, 2022, 08:07:43 PM
Metaverse can never be good for decentralization, everything about it will be regulated in a way people's data can be easily accessible to the government. If possible there would be gambling sites on Metaverse, all of them will have to comply to the rules of mandating their customers to verify before making use of their metaverse gambling service.

Prior to this metaverse stuff, we can now feel that centralization is now hitting up crypto-gambling sites today. There are now sites that involve KYC and big winnings are subject to identity verification before a user can claim which should not be a requirement since that's what crypto-gambling is all about anonymity.

Since crypto-gambling sites have no choice but to comply with it, in the first place, to make their business legit, they should follow the law, we also don't have a choice but to follow.

Regardless of there's a Metaverse touch on our gambling experience, that verification will still be the same.

I'm not sure.

I feel like on decentralized metaverses there is going to be a lot more operators willing to open up unregulated casinos, often because they can no longer be traced back to an actual name registering a license/domain.

That could be a benefit for people - that plus the trustlessness of having a non-custodial model of on-chain gaming. It's honestly not a bad idea if you think about it.
202  Economy / Gambling / Re: Profitable Poker Bot ready for use ! on: March 19, 2022, 07:53:48 PM
There used to be bots that could play on certain poker sites. But we're talking about 15 years ago or something. I don't think the technology and software allow that now. You can use a kind of indirect poker bot, but then you play yourself and you just let the bot calculate what you have to do and what you have to bet. Even if it did exist, I find it inconvenient and unreliable because you're dealing with human players who don't play by the poker rules and there's also a lot of bluffing that a bot can't see.

Yep exactly.

And besides, you are very likely to be banned sooner or later if the way you plan is obviously following a botting pattern, so it's not like this is a sustainable long term edge that you can have.

There is a reason why skilled players are still able to beat out people in online rooms.
203  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should Casinos invest on endorsement from celebrities on: March 19, 2022, 07:47:57 PM
I personally believe that a casino must improve its product first, then think about any potential sponsorships.

If they go and pay some celebrity endorser millions of dollars while customers are still left in the dark with deposit/withdrawal issues, it's simply not going to work out for anyone.

But casinos like Stake who are much more established should definitely do this. It's a part of a long term, sustainable expansion strategy imo.
204  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling in METAVERSE on: March 18, 2022, 11:59:12 PM
Metaverse as in in Facebook Metaverse? Do you think they would allow gambling site to operate in the Facebook Metaverse? I don't think so besides any users can access that and underage users is no exemption and can probably access gambling in metaverse I don't think there would be a gambling in Metaverse but it depends what kind of rules or law they will implement to prevent minor users to access gambling in Metaverse.

Oh, definitely not.

I think that there is virtually no way that you're going to see FB be willing to host any sort of gambling activity on their platform. But at the same time, is that the only metaverse that is out there?

Most certainly not. And I do think that increasingly, as Web3 becomes more established, that we will indeed see increased interest in metaverse casinos (e.g. on Decentraland).
205  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Drake became partners of the Stake Casino on: March 18, 2022, 09:12:18 PM
It's not surprising whatsoever.

Drake's endorsement has been covered by mainstream media and Stake is probably raking it in right now as a result. The sponsorship is probably worth millions per year for Drake.

I think it's a win win for both parties involved, although people do need to be careful with celebrity endorsements in general - not all are legitimate. In this case, it is one of the rare instances where a big name celebrity is actually endorsing a legitimate operation.  Smiley
^ That is what I am thinking of, they are both get a benefit for this. For Drake, there is a massive income that comes from the Stake and it could be Stake will get thousand of gamblers will transfer to the Stke.com site and gamble there because of the promotions.
Stake is very clever on the marketing promotions, that is why they are on that stage, a very popular gambling casino that everyone wanted to play, they have a lot of promos which are gamblers liked.

For sure.

The one thing that I'm concerned about for Stake is the fact that they will likely see increased regulatory scrutiny as a result of these high profile sponsorships.

I guess this is also one of the reasons why only Stake has been able to move towards this mainstream casino image and no one else. They are possibly one of the only casinos that have a large enough legal team and experience in the field to deal with this attention, which is kudos to them.
206  Economy / Gambling / Re: Blockchain Casinos - Consumer's Choice! on: March 18, 2022, 08:43:00 PM
Without a doubt, I think that Stake is the most popular.

However, recently there has been other new projects that have popped up that have shown significant potential. Roobet and Duelbits have seen explosive growth all throughout 2021 and I think that they will continue to do so.

I actually think that Roobet/Duelbits would be preferred by a lot of retail bettors because there is a lot of influencers who use the platform as opposed to Stake, which now appeals more to the premium/VIP section of the crowd.
207  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: DUELBITS.COM STOLE 545$ FROM ME PROOF on: March 18, 2022, 07:59:21 PM
I actually would agree with OP that this is not best practice for a casino.

Do I think that OP should have been more careful before depositing to see the appropriate limits that are applicable? Yes.

But at the same time I think that Duelbits should have considered OP's case separately. This is not a huge amount that OP is depositing, and it was clear that he is only wanting to bet on a specific event. So why force him?
208  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: March 18, 2022, 07:54:04 PM
Stephen Curry didn't have a good game and stayed at only three points last night. He didn't play too much and also maybe he was rested in this game I don't know.
Did you only look at the score? He wasn't rested. He was injured in the first half after he and Marcus Smart went for a loose ball.

Steph Curry will be out indefinitely after that left foot injury but some speculate that he could be back next month.

Lol Grin Clearly he didn't watched the game or even bothered to watch the full game highlights that's why he didn't knew that Steph Curry was injured and only looked at the score after the game. Anyways, after the incident Steve Kerr was really upset against Marcus Smart because he thought that he played dangerously but then he relaxed after they saw what happened in replay and Marcus clearly don't want that to happen either.

Here's the update about Stephen Curry:
Quote
According to ESPN's Ramona Shelburne and Adrian Wojnarowski, inside the Golden State organization, the realistic hope for the home team in San Francisco is that the player who has made the most three-pointers in NBA history will return for the start of the playoffs.
Source

He doesn't really need to rush his recovery in my opinion.

I think that the Warriors are extremely team oriented and as a result, they are going to be just fine without their big stars. We have seen this before when Klay and Draymond was out.

As long as Steph is able to make a comeback during the playoffs at some stage, it will suffice.

212  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your experiences with energy efficient cryptocurrencies? on: March 12, 2022, 08:46:58 PM
I am watching with concerns the development of climate change and global warming. While I believe that cryptocurrencies make only a small contribution, even many small things add up to a large number.

Bitcoin consumes a lot of power and I don't know if that can change. What do you guys think? As far as I understand, the trust in Bitcoin is mainly due to the proof of work mechanism. And with this, the high power consumption is probably inseparable?

I'm considering investing more in altcoins based on proof of stake or proof of personhood. What do you think are the advantages and disadvantages?

I think that it's not a bad idea.

The media definitely exaggerates the environmental effects of PoW coins, especially bitcoin, just because it is extremely topical.

However, I do think that in the long run we are going to move towards more efficient protocols that consume less energy and are faster in general. Fantom is a good example of this, and I'm currently in the process of rotating into that L1 chain as the price has dipped significantly.
213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The way things are going with new crypto is worrisome on: March 12, 2022, 08:20:26 PM
Almost everyone I knew now creates their own tokens  Grin these guys aren't even crypto developers to begin with, they have no coding experience or knowledge now this makes me worry, imagine how many crypto tokens that are created by inexperienced personal, I think we need to buckle up for there will be huge rain of scam tokens upon us than what we've seen before...... Sigh! I wish that only few qualified people knew how to build blockchain projects.

The ease of access for token creation is definitely concerning.

People are now receiving more spam tokens than ever in their wallets and exposed to a myriad of worthless projects that are marketing themselves well but have no fundamental value beyond the hype.

I've also seen an increasing amount of DeFi hacks due to inexperience and unaudited development, but it seems like that during a bear market everyone just turns a blind eye to these common sense things.
214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NFT for money laundering? on: March 12, 2022, 03:47:20 AM
I think that there are two layers to it.

Most people in NFTs are generally just there for the quick profits and flipping worthless JPEGs for money. That doesn't count as money laundering per se but highly speculative and useless activity in my books.

Then, there is a small portion of people who are hardcore users that use NFTs to launder money. Coffeezilla has done a good coverage on this. There is significant wash trading going on virtually everywhere by these users to prop up the value of their NFTs, and you need to be vigilant to look out for it.

Welcome to the forum.

I've actually seen your ads across the forum quite frequently, so it definitely pays to answer questions via a central forum thread and keep the community engaged.

Up to a certain threshold, withdrawals will work before verification.

I would suggest letting everyone know publicly what this threshold exactly is - a lot of people here are going to be extremely averse and sensitive to KYC policies as they have been subject to unreasonable verification requests in the past that is used as a means to hold their funds hostage. So please clarify this important detail.
216  Economy / Gambling / Re: [GUIDE] 10 complete steps for new casino into this forum on: March 12, 2022, 03:24:55 AM
This post should be stickied.

So many new casinos lately and I haven't seen a lot of quality projects (perhaps one out of every 10 new ones).

A lot of amateur operators think that it is possible to have a functional site that attracts real players with no upfront bankroll investment and no customer service. This is not going to work in 2022 with so many corporate competitors that have been around for a decade or more.

New operators: understand that the space is incredibly hard to disrupt and you need to put in effort to attract any sort of client base.
217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stay away from crypto influencers on: March 12, 2022, 03:19:14 AM
Stop following crypto influencers, those of you who like using YouTube videos to pick coins and tokens to invest in you need to hear this, those crypto influencers on YouTube are getting paid to promote those projects they are chilling, why would they promise you 2x or 5x when they aren't part of the team themselves? They did this because that's how they make their own money. He who have hears let him hear.

Absolutely.

These influencers can even disguised as educators on Youtube or whatnot, so you really need to ensure that where you get your information is legitimate.

If a particular projects is reliant on influencers to do their marketing, you are almost guaranteed to get a crappy project as:
a) Their dev funds have largely gone to the influencers and
b) They know that their project will have no real adopters other than the people who buy in on the hype.
218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: THE BULL RIDE OF 2021 on: March 12, 2022, 02:58:30 AM
You are stupid if you decide to jump on the wagon at these levels.

Even now, after major corrections in pretty much all metaverse/P2E/DeFi tokens, I think that most of them are still relatively overpriced.

There is simply not usage case for any of them except as a moneygrab for early adopters. Folding Ideas has done a great video on why the NFT wave is quite frankly stupid (not all, but most of the non-utility ones that are solely based off community hype).
219  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Community means everything on: March 12, 2022, 01:15:57 AM
Community means everything in crypto space, there are many people who think that shiba coin won't enter top 10 on coinmarketcap well today we did it, now that we are in bull season I'm sure more surprises is coming, shiba is more than a meme coin do your own research before judging the project, Dogecoin that was loved by the community for few years now got flipped

I disagree.

In the short run, the market is a voting machine. But in the long run it's a weighing machine.

Only projects with viable technology will survive the weighing machine of the markets in the long run. Projects that are solely driven by community hype will indeed be absolutely doomed to fail, just like what happened to DOGE and Shiba (if you bought at the top).
220  Economy / Gambling / Re: ✅ Paradice.in | 🍀 Provably Fair 🎲 | Rain☔| 30 sec Faucet | 1% House Edge 💰| on: March 12, 2022, 12:39:35 AM
Today I have played for the first time at Paradice with some deposits and requested for a withdrawal (in litecoin). The system said they have proceed my withdrawal and I received an email with a transaction link of my withdrawal. But I'm facing difficulties to trace my transaction from their provided link. I tried to view the transaction on some other blockchain explorer, but I'm receiving the error message everywhere.

However, occasionally I'm able to see the transaction in Blockchair and BlockCypher platform. I have noticed that Paradice team has sent my withdrawal from a wallet where there is an unconfirmed transaction since last 3 days. Unfortunately my withdrawal was sent with the input of that unconfirmed tx. My withdrawal tx isn't going to be picked by the miners as long as the parent transaction not getting the confirmation. As a result my withdrawal is showing as pending since last 7 hours. This is completely unnatural for LTC transaction. Paradice team is fully responsible for this inconvenience.

See the input (between the red rectangle) of my withdrawal tx. It says ‘empty script type’. They shouldn't have sent the withdrawal from such wallet. I have asked their live support regarding this issue and they replied me after 1 hour. The live support isn't friendly enough. I'm still waiting for my withdrawal  Angry

Moderators note: Don't consider it as consecutive post. This post content should stay separately and there is one week difference between the two posts.

I agree.

They should not be able to charge you for withdrawal fees and still send you funds from an unconfirmed source. By the way, is the transaction a zero-fee transaction or is that just a bug on the blockchain explorer's side? If it's zero-fees then that is quite irresponsible.

I understand that this will happen accidentally sometimes, especially if they are automating this. But they should be liable to resolve this issue.
