From Microsoft & Windows defender today:
Code:
Trojan:Win32/Detplock
Status: Removed
Information: This application is dangerous and runs commands from an attacker
lolMiner-v1.21\lolMiner.exe

Microsoft claims the following:
Code:
This threat is a trojan which tries to do one or all of the following:

    Download and install other malware
Use your computer for click fraud
Record your keystrokes and the sites you visit
Send information about your PC, including user names and browsing history, to a remote malicious hacker
Give a remote malicious hacker access to your PC

These things are getting ridiculous.
Microsoft is targeting miners all around for removal.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: lolminer rx570 very low hashrate problem on: April 01, 2021, 06:40:43 AM

25-26mhs currently.

I’m on 19mhs currently on asus p5e deluxe. A week ago it was around 24 on same machine with rx580 4gb gigabyte
Something wrong that I’m sure. But I don’t know what’s wrong.

Are you in Gen3x16?

Gen2 x16

There is your problem, not enough speed on the PCIE gen 2 port, it's only the same as gen 3 8x... Which isn't good enough for full-speed Zombie I guess.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: WildRig Multi 0.28.3: multi-algo miner for AMD & NVIDIA on: April 01, 2021, 06:19:36 AM
Hello there!

I'm having an issue with my AMD GPU, i have a 6900XT and when i try to use this miner i get:

architecture "gfx1030" not supported

 Undecided

Any advice ?

Thanks so much for the effort !!
Hi, so far this new gpu's are not supported.

Any plans to support the new RX 6000 series any time soon?
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LUXCoin wallet corrupt/broken, crashes application. How to retreive? on: March 11, 2021, 03:06:50 PM
People seem uninterested to something so important as this is kinda regrettable.

Should be easy and common knowledge on how to retrieve this kind of stuff, but is what it is.

Haven't bothered as been busy with stuff.
Wallet still corrupt. No guide on how to retrieve the coins in general has been presented. I was expecting this to have been told in hours from when I posted about it but the thread got thrown out from the relevant forum kinda instantly so didn't bother more with it.

This isn't the proper forum for this discussion. Why a mod moved this here just bad policy.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why ETH dropped 20% from the high peak? Anyone knows? on: March 09, 2021, 12:18:37 PM
The correction is done and the markets are heading for new ATH again.

The Bull is still strong I would guess. I don't think a market drop is in place any more until new ATH is reached for many coins.

Example for a proper setup to act as a full-node? ( x.conf file setup?)

It's enough to have listen=1 in your config, however you might still be unable to accept incoming connections depending on your ISP and router setup.
For the 0.10 release you should also ensure full sync (spv=0 and autorequestblocks=1).

If you are offline when the pool's down try addnode=80.208.229.211

Added the spv & autorequestblocks settings.

Thanks for the suggestions.
I think we only really need more nodes running so disruptions are less likely.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH Vulnerable? Schnorr, claims .. (new exploit) “destroys the RSA cryptosystem” on: March 07, 2021, 04:27:10 PM
I think people just don't know much or what it means.

A blank slate of knowledge on the matter.

Even I have no idea what it means at the moment, first time hearing about "RSA". But if it involves cryptography and is part of the ETH security it should be looked into by the relevant parties, meaning ETH development team in general rather than anyone else. That is if they know themselves what it means.

It might just sound worse than in practice having any effect.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Ethereum going to Die? on: March 07, 2021, 04:10:03 PM
The solution to burn the fees, your money, is really a bad idea in the long run.

No crypto currency should in practice make money disappear from the total.
Soon when there is too much activity there is no more supply as it slowly withers away your coins.

EIP1559 is a really badly considered update. There should be other options for a solution than that.

It doesn't inspire confidence or a sense of reliability for the devs on the project at large as is presented.

The setting on fire the miners in general from the development tells it all for what should be considered.
Miners add activity & volume and gives incentive for marketing. More users are added in total.

Seems the main network is down?

No new blocks are being generated even on solo mining? It's stuck on block [7348691]
Mining works well, chek the pool ♥

Was effected for ~6 hours on the 25th February. Has been fine since then but would be good if this doesn't occur frequently.
I've noted this twice now that the network wasn't functioning when the pool wasn't running.

Maybe there aren't enough full-nodes running?

I thought I had my wallet setup for a full-node but might have missed something in the config.

Example for a proper setup to act as a full-node? ( x.conf file setup?)
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: At what stage are we now in the crypto space on: March 01, 2021, 03:41:16 PM
I think, and don't hit me for it, we're actually still in the denial stage. We are still not yet in mainstream adoption, remember. And people are still saying BTC is a bubble, a ponzi, a scam etc.

And still regulators prefer to focus on it being a criminal currency, and unstable one and even one bad for the environment. Doesn't this all sounds like very strong denials?Wink

It's intentional the scam & fuddling claims, the old power structures don't want the competition this new platform entails & want to outright ban it if and when they can get away with it. They will hold it off for a few more years before they either accept it or form a formal dismissal as a threat to their power & control.
We already see the effects of some governments banning the usage because they lost control of the finance & taxes because of it.
Only those with stricter & more developed government platforms will allow it as a source of extra income as they can enforce the taxation of the networks.

Any plans to add RX2 algorithm for this? [LUX]

It's quite recent and was looking if it could be incorporated into this multi-miner.

12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cpuminer-opt v3.15.6, open source optimized multi-algo CPU miner on: February 28, 2021, 08:15:05 AM
Okay, that makes sense.
Can you suggest any algorithm where CPU-mining still makes sense and that also works with cpuminer-opt?

yescryptR32 [DMS]
yespowerR16 [YTN]
yespower [several]

There are many more choices, these are just some I've used with this cpu-miner for now.

13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cpuminer-opt v3.15.6, open source optimized multi-algo CPU miner on: February 28, 2021, 07:26:55 AM
Hello together!
---------------
Thank you!

Do not mine scrypt with a cpu... not even a GPU is worthwhile.

Basically it's so slow it never finds a share it can submit.
Use another algorithm for the other coins, specifically the CPU coins. At least you can get something for your effort there.

Good luck.

16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum now looks like a complete joke on: February 25, 2021, 09:01:48 AM
in this bull run it did not happen like in the others and not all the altcoins and tokens followed the upward trend of bitcoin many erc 20 tokens remained at medium-low values and the fees for their movement are about 15 $ !!! and for a swap even $ 30, sums unacceptable at least for me, even if eth is growing in value, i think i will abandon it, with all its tokens at least until the fees are reasonable again

In general if Crypto wants to win, fees have to minimal or nothing. Or the competition that does it will win the mindshare of users, being decentralized or not.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: WildRig Multi 0.28.3: multi-algo miner for AMD & NVIDIA on: February 24, 2021, 03:25:44 PM
For example ethash has a decrease from 43mh/s down to 36mh/s after using WildRig. Doesn't occur if I don't run the application. (system reboot restores performance)
Any suggestions, comments on this behaviour?
This one is really odd. Did you try to reset(disable-enable device in Windows) Vega after wildrig session? When cryptonight was popular, people were doing so to get "fresh" hashrate, so maybe something similar happens here. Wildrig do nothing itself to modify anything related to gpu.

Might be, only have this GPU in this system, so device reset might not be usable, but could work for multi-gpu system.
I know driver reset are finicky and best avoided on RX VEGA though, bad recovery rate. Risk of instability causing crashes if you try to many times. Not the best auto-recovery in general.

I just expect this to be a feature of the code, I've noted and seen unexpected oddities from code structures when I was messing with that stuff years back. Simple changes could have drastic behaviour changes, even though it should make no difference.
I expect that maybe some resource is not released and kept reserved for the application upon closing. just a guess but worth to try and check.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: WildRig Multi 0.28.3: multi-algo miner for AMD & NVIDIA on: February 24, 2021, 01:40:28 PM

Hi, unfortunately this is known issue for Vega gpu's(something to do with broken OpenCL compiler in drivers, and this need some tricks in code to make drivers provide correct binary). So far only kernel 1 works fine, but with lower hashrate. And this issue in my TODO list.

Thanks for the information.
This bug, known behaviour makes you not want to use the particular algorithm on this GPU. [RX VEGA 64]
To large a loss of hashrate.
_____________________________

I've noted another oddity when exiting and running WildRig application, the hashrate decreases if you exit WildRig and run another application.
You need a system reboot to restore performance after having had WildRig running.
Seems to lower gpu performance if you exit and want to run another application.

Noticed when I ran another mining software when I wasn't getting the usual hashrate and investigated.
If I don't run WildRig performance is normal, but as soon as I've had it run, performance is lowered afterwards. Can't find the cause other than the application doesn't exit/close properly? Keeps hogging system resources?
Known issue?

For example ethash has a decrease from 43mh/s down to 36mh/s after using WildRig. Doesn't occur if I don't run the application. (system reboot restores performance)
Any suggestions, comments on this behaviour?

WildRig itself also has decreasing performance for each exit/close and new start. But not as noticeable at first, until you only run it once per system start where you get the best performance. If you close the application it's for me recommended to restart the system if I want to run another algorithm, otherwise I can't get the best results from it.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: February 24, 2021, 06:26:57 AM
There is no official windows build/wallet for Ethereum & Classic?

I preferred the official wallets for all coins but could not find which one it is for the Ethereum, sites are badly structured and don't promote mention the official build but only third party builds.

Reading the first page here and visiting GitHub it's only for Linux the full-node official one?
A little bummer that it's limited to Linux and we don't have official core wallet for this as most other coins. Makes entry a little obscured on getting started. More of a hassle than necessary.

I'm concerned with the security of the third party wallets, most are for mobile phones, those things can't be trusted in length or in general.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / LUXCoin wallet corrupt/broken, crashes application. How to retreive? on: February 23, 2021, 09:11:19 AM
Hi guys.

Had some issues with setup on a new wallet I had just started using and had some coins of some insignificant value being sent to it.
Problem is my system crashed and the wallet got corrupt & broken.
Crashed the application when trying to access the wallet.

Just want some help on the procedures in general when dealing with corrupt/broken wallets and how to try salvage them. Either by extracting the private-key or restoring it's functionality so I can send the few coins I have there to the new wallet I created.

Application: Luxcore version v5.5.0.0-aa3cdb4c-Luxcore (64-bit)
LUXCoin

I have the wallet.dat from after the crash, but it causes the application to crash in multitude of ways.
I've tried to just copy the wallet into a new install or try a -salvage & re-index operation but it was still crashing.

It should not have encryption as I had no time to do it before the issues.
I think it would be easy to get the funds out from the wallet. Just need the how-to.

Just need pointers on where to start and what tools might be needed.
I tried to check the file in .txt format but it's gibberish, not readable text. Some kind of encoding needs to be done to be able to find the keys in plain text?

Thanks for any help you can provide. The knowledge will be invaluable going forward.
