Still delayed I take it?
Yeah, I've just finished a presentation at TEDx in Leeds (which went terrible), and I'm off to bed, I'll kick off development in the morning and aim to have all the features for the release (with loads of bugs) up on the demo site for bug hunting and feedback. Mila's found a ton of bugs in the current demo that I've not fixed yet, I've been racing to get release features done and dealing with tons of non GLBSE2.0 stuff that's held me back. Nefario.

RaggedMonk, the coins only become stolen if MZ refuses to return them, I'm getting involved because I thought witcoin was a cool project. After talking to CCM, the projects not going to be revived, so we need to get the users back their coins.
I think a lot of the background and details have been worked out already so there isn't any need to go over them again.
The next step forward is for MZ to respond as to whether he's going to return the goods or not, and that's what I'm working for.
I've not heard any response from him, I'm a little too busy today but if I've not heard anything by tomorrow I'm going to chase him.

I agree with Gavin's sentiment, but those are certainly attention grabbers...
Has Bitdrop been developed at all yet? Or will you just be speaking about it theoretically?
Development kicks of after GLBSE 2.0 rolls out, all the theory has been worked out along with the business model and we've got the developers. We'll be doing a GLBSE IPO to fund it. In the talk I'll just be speaking about the theory of it so people get a basic understanding of how it works, and explaining how bitcoin allows a service like this to exist where it couldn't before.

mizerydearia, RaggedMonk, enough. This has been drawn out too much to no ones benefit. CryptoCoinMedia won't be posting anymore on this issue, I'm in personal talks with him regarding it. mizerydearia, I've pm'd you about moving forward with this, I've not heard back from you yet you've had time for lengthy posts on this and the other thread. I want a dump of the user records from your DB backup and the wallet backup, from that point on I'll ensure that all the users get their coins back. Email me ( doctor.nefario@gmail.com) with how I can get those. I'll take it forward to resolve this working with both mizerydearia and CryptoCoinMedia. RaggedMonk, change the title of this thread to something else. Nefario.

How about Bitcoin-Charity.com or CoinWorker.com for projects that aren't so potentially controversial?
have you had a look at the jobs at coinworker and the payment? how is that not controversial? i would rather be dealing drugs... lol

I'll talk a little about what bitcoin allows, and some of the cool projects as a result, GLBSE, bitdrop and SilkRoad.
Do you have to talk about those three projects? How about Bitcoin-Charity.com or CoinWorker.com for projects that aren't so potentially controversial? Yeah these are the coolest projects in bitcoin land, I could talk about namecoin but then I need to get all technical and into the whole issue of ICE seizing domains etc. I've only got 20 mins for the whole thing. Controversial is great, it grabs peoples attention and makes for interesting presentations. I don't want to bore people. The fact is bitcoin is great because it make many things that were impossible, just difficult.

Hi omehenk,
generally if you have USD in an Intersango account then it would be transfered from Intersango's Chase bank account in the US.
As far as I know, you really do need an IBAN to be able to wire this money. This is a general requirement for any international banking, it's not really a fault or problem with Intersango.
You would face the same issues with CryptoXchange and Mt.Gox.
Being based in Thailand you may only have a domestic bank account, these are not designed/allowed to handle international payments. You may need to open an international bank account(one which can accept international payments in USD) with your national bank which is the Bank of Thailand (AFAIK). One of these accounts should have an IBAN.
Bear in mind that such a transfer usually is a little pricey so if the amount you are transferring is small it may not be worth it. Also bear in mind that because it's a transfer to Thailand from the US (because thats where Intersango's USD account is) you may be required to provide proof of your address and identity. I had to do this when I had Intersango do a transfer to me in China. They were very good about it though.

Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Paypal is becoming the 'Moral Police' for the Internet

Isn't this why Bitcoin is the perfect option?
Think of all the bitcoin exchanges around the world, Intersango, BTCChina MtGox and so on. They all comply with their local laws, all they do is exchange bitcoin for local currency, usually in only a single country (Intersango and MtGox have multiple currencies so it's more work for the).
Once someone has bitcoin, then money transfer is divorced from what you're using it for. Once it's in bitcoin then it's out in the wild.
Quite easily (with a little time) bitcoin could replace PayPal, perhaps Ebay will still be #1 but they'll eventually accept bitcoin. If they don't it doesn't matter as all other sites WILL.
We're rebuilding the financial system, and if paypal/ebay don't want to get involved then they miss out, we continue without them anyway.
Let say for example, I want to send money to China(from the UK). What are my options?
I could do a wire(SWIFT), which takes about 8 working days and costs between 25-40GBP I could use WesternUnion, which takes about 1 hour and they charge ~20% (ouch!) Or I could use bitcoin, takes about 1-2 days and charge is ~1-2%(exchange fees).
For the bitcoin option, I put GBP into my Intersango account(I'm in the UK so it's quick and free), buy bitcoin, send to my account in BTCChina, buy RMB(Chinese currency) and send the funds to my wifes account.
Bitcoin is the great intermediary!
