Wow! Just found that NRS is spamming my temp folder with hundreds empty folders like this
Code:
jetty-0.0.0.0-7874-root-_-any-8199114305604189838.dir
Cry

Very strange. On 0.8.xe versions after several hours my node always forks. That was not the case on 0.7.x. I usually forged >1 block a day but on 0.8 i got nothing  Cry
Downgrading.
Well, 0.7.6 working without any trouble >24 hours. Forging is ok.
Can not understand what was wrong with 0.8.x Roll Eyes

I will be releasing a test version of automated multisig gateway this weekend. It doesnt quite work the way you describe, but it achieves the same result and with better security. You establish a BTC account for withdrawals and get assigned a custom deposit address.
Can you say more about security?
1. If Account B is made by a human, would this lead to trust problems?
Yes, it is centralized gateway with need of trust to owner of private key of address B.

Some thoughts about AssetExchange (AE).

1) Unlike real stock exchanges (and FOREX) and virtual cryptocurrency/stock exchanges the launching NXT AE is very very open. Everyone can know what account owns what assets, what orders it has, what gain  or loss it get from trading.
We will have at any time full order book for any asset, full history of assets/money (NXT) flow.
So someone may make an great analytic site with stats of most profitable assets, top trading winner accounts (and may be loosers) for day/month/year. And much more! All because of all information on AE is open!

2) Why not to make a very simple bitcoin gateway?
It can be set like this:
Create NXT account A and issue asset "1BTC" in 21'000'000 quantity. They are not for sale.
Create BTC address B.
Write some code.
Announce, that anyone can send 1 (2, 3, ...) any whole number of real Bitcoins to that address and set an NXT account number in message of the transaction.
The code then periodically will check incoming transactions on address B and transfer corresponding number of "1BTC" assets to provided NXT account.
Then it can be traded on AE.
If someone wants to cashout his "1BTC" he then can transfer some quantity of his "1BTC" assets to account A and make a referenced Transaction with NXT message which contains a real BTC withdrawal address.
The code then sends real BTC (may be without some withdrawal fee to support gateway like 1% or fixed 0.01BTC) to given address.

All this can work very transparently - everyone can check amount of BTC on address B and "1BTC" on address A.

I am not a good programmer, but i think even i can program this simply on Google docs spreadsheet with API of blockchain.info and some public NXT nodes.

Downgrading.

mine doesnt fork, but every few hours my 0.8.1e forging NRS node just hangs on a block and stops receiving new blocks.  I upgraded to 0.8.2e, same thing.

May be it is one case. The forks i was getting were forged mostly with my account with very high target in blocks. So the reason may be the same - loosing connection with the network.

I am getting B0A036C7D07F4583400BF3D218F635A78508E83B0E440DEB7B35BCA9A8933150...  WTF?!?!?     Huh

what tool did you use to check that with?

http://localhost:7876/update.html  wouldn't work for some reason on both Chrome and Firefox...  so I used  http://onlinemd5.com/.

you are supposed to calculate SHA256 , not shA1. Also update.html didn't work because worker_256.js was in the wrong folder (which the new 0.8.2e fixes)

Yes... there is an option to calculate SHA256 and I got the above.    Undecided

What do you get on that site?

oh, i only checked the title. i get the same as yours: B0A036C7D07F4583400BF3D218F635A78508E83B0E440DEB7B35BCA9A8933150

SHA1 is wrong there too  Angry

It fails the check for some reason.    Undecided

Your problem. I'm fine.

The highest two bits of the message byte are used to determine the current message hop of the message.
So, eXocoin is not anonymous?  Embarrassed If i receive a message with 1st hop then i know the ip of sender? Huh

As quoted we will reopen in around 24 hours and let people withdraw all their coins and currencies in manual mode (so we can check each withdrawal and delete some abuse users we didnt noticed yet).
Will this withdrawals be obligatory or my coins can stay on exchange?

I'm going to guess and say this:

Neotrix is allowing anyone who would like to get their coins out, a chance to do so. This is to lessen the already bad situation; to show that they are working on the problem and have the customer's money on hand to facilitate withdrawals.
However, if you feel safe keeping your coins on the exchange, I'm sure it won't be a problem for neotrix and his crew for you to leave them there.

Again, I don't speak for neotrix. What I just said is my guess after looking at the situation.
But if everybody will keep coins on the exchange then how they would "check each withdrawal and delete some abuse users we didnt noticed yet"?

Still don't understand. In versions <0.8.0 when i announce a public address but set sharing to false other node will connect to me only after my node first connects to it. In 0.8.0 such logic of behavior is impossible. Is this true?  Huh
Yes, this is true. You don't have control over which nodes you connect to, so why would you need such behavior? It would only make sense if you can define a whitelist of nodes to connect to, but currently you can't do that. Your node will keep trying to connect to whatever list of peers it receives from the others, and telling them your public address itself, how is that different from allowing the peers to share it amongst themselves too?
You are wrong, i can define a whitelist of nodes to connect to by firewall rules.
Why don't just set the shareMyAddress to false then? Your node will function fine with incoming connections completely disabled.

I don't want to complicate the configuration by adding yet another boolean parameter whether to start the peer server or not, in addition to shareMyAddress.

What if i want incoming connections only from nodes with some Hallmark threshold? If i first connect to them and they would not share my address - then only them could connect to me?
Quote
Edit. and btw, what are nxt.pushThreshold and nxt.pullThreshold then for? Huh
The thresholds only apply for outgoing connections from your node. For rejecting incoming ones, only blacklisting works.
So this "You don't have control over which nodes you connect to" is wrong?

816  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: February 24, 2014, 08:26:47 PM
You need to set nxt.uiServerHost=0.0.0.0 , by default it is 127.0.0.1 so localhost only.
Strange, works on one node, but not on another.
What about my previous question?

so this is your  original Allowed.userhost ? code :
I copied working in 0.7.6 string to nxt.properties like this:
Code:
nxt.allowedUserHosts=127.0.0.1; localhost; 0:0:0:0:0:0:0:1; 192.168.1.2; etc;
and nothing works.
818  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: February 24, 2014, 07:59:49 PM
Does someone have the same problem on >=0.8.0 ?
If i put some ip address in nxt.allowedUserHosts i cannot connect from it to my node Cry

did you have  separated  them with a comma?

Code:
1.1.1.1; 127.0.0.1; 0.0.0.0; 151.0.0.1; eccecc;

Yes, of course .
