6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Brave browser reaches 16.7 million monthly active users. on: August 04, 2020, 10:42:32 PM
Brave recently released their MAU statistics which has reached a rather impressive 16.7M: https://mobile.twitter.com/BrendanEich/status/1290312177182621696?s=19

It's a subject of debate, but Brave which uses BAT as it's token, is somewhat of a 'sleeping giant'. Personally, I can see Brave being very popular with millennials and Gen Z, particularly with gamers as the browser could potentially be used as a way to pay for gaming memberships with BAT. I'm also looking forward to their ad platform which is due to be released and other applications in the works.

One thing i admire about brave browser is their consistency towards providing better browsing experience majprly for the crypto community. When they started about a year ago, the browsing experience wasn't really amazing but with time it has been a good rival to chrome and i have no doubt, their future products will be a massive disruption too
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stay away from centralized wallets on: August 04, 2020, 10:32:58 PM
would have been a different story if I use coinomi or atomic wallet because they give users 💯 control over their funds, private keys and recovery seed are important, always remember that

The use of decentralized wallet is the best way to save crypto assets. That is why i always give gratitude to the fact that i knew the difference between centralized and decentralized crypto product right from the moment i joined crypto space. I advise everyone to move their assets to decentralized wallets
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum is 5 years old today! on: August 04, 2020, 10:21:22 PM
On this day 30 july in 2015, the main network of one of the most beloved cryptocurrencies, Ethereum, was launched.
Congratulations to everyone who has supported and developed the project all these years!

Btw Ethereum's white paper was released in 2013 by Vitalik Buterin.

Indeed, ethereum has experience a massive growth over the course of the last five years and i must say all the success achieved by both the product and the team is well deserved. Going by ethereum past five years achievement metrics, it's simply shows that the project has been one of the most utilized blockchain/cryptocurrency project out there!  I wish the project and the team more success and achievements
9  Other / Archival / Re: Bank Account Freezed on: August 03, 2020, 02:19:24 PM
After a long time, I found a right place to ask my question.

Last year, my bank account got frozen. Bank said that my account is blocked based on the instruction from Cyber Crime.

I did few P2P Trades on P2P Platform. Is that the reason?

No one has contacted me so far? Does any faced similar issue and got it resolved? If Yes, how?

Update:

I am from INDIA.

If you didn't partake in any fraudulent activity using cryptocurrency, you should contact the nearest cyber crime authority around you because your bank can not unblock without their directives, few of my friends has had similar case but everything got clear out since they didn't participate in any fraudulent  activities and if things want to get messier, you should seek the counsel of a professional finanacial lawyer.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Scammers are back with another trick. Be alert!!! on: August 03, 2020, 02:06:27 PM
Scammers are back with their old method but with another new trick. Currently, they are streaming video on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KoQX4hElcSU&feature=emb_rel_pause, with the video title 100000 ETH giveaway. Be alert guys.   They made the channel name Foxnews which is fake of course and they are streaming an @ethglobal video.

Thanks for the warning. Going through the scam pattern, i discovered that it's not really different from previous scam giveaways happening in crypto space, the usual sent certain amount to receive double strategy kind of scam. I hope people won't fall for it but nonetheless, anyone who fall for the scam is greedy and pretty dumb because it's not a new thing in crypto space that giveaways asking for prior payments are scams
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why People Call Bitcoin Blockchain? on: August 03, 2020, 01:55:47 PM

What I want the forum to discuss is this:
I believe that the application of Blockchain cut across many industries such as healthcare, logistics, insurance, governement, education and so and so forth.
Why is the application of Blockchain to finance has this popularity than application of Blockchain to other sectors?
What do you think?

Considering the core features of Blockchain  which are security, decentralization, immutability, concensus and distributed ledger, it's best suited for the financial sector and that's why it's first application was for creating a digital currency. The blockchain is applicable in other sectors no doubt but when it comes to the industry that leverage and needs ot the most, it's the finance and coupled with the fact that people are looking for freedom over their financial lives makes finance a better industry for blockchain disruption
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Twitter Hackers Arrested! [Updated] on: August 03, 2020, 01:48:10 PM
It's really surprising that a 17 year old teen pull up such a massive hack on twitter, with all the felony charges against him, he will serve not less than 20 years if found quilty of those crimes. This is sure a challenge for mega platforms to up their game to prevent their servers from being preyed on by hackers
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia legalizing Bitcoin and cryptos but not allowed as payment method? on: August 03, 2020, 05:33:41 AM
Okay so months ago, we thought that they're all set to lay down the axe on Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in Russia. But right now, lawmakers have passed a bill to legalize cryptocurrencies in their country.

However, there's one section of the bill states that Bitcoin cannot be used as payment method. They do legalize cryptocurrency trading though, but not sure when it comes to crowdfunding, ICOs, etc.

Source: https://cointelegraph.com/news/russian-lawmakers-finally-pass-countrys-major-crypto-bill

Any reactions so far guys?

Is this news really legit because i tried Google Searching it but i keep seeing things that looks like rumors because Russian government made announcement not too long ago that they won't be legalizing cryptocurrency. If at all the news is true, it is a success for the entire crypto community as the Russians will surely adds to overall crypto marketcap. About the section that says bitcoin can not be used for payment, i think that's russian government trying to protect it's citizens from the people that uses bitcoin for evil deads... I see a bright future here, a step at a time
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does Name really matter in crypto? on: July 27, 2020, 07:53:21 PM
Please there's something I really want to understand about this crypto industry because at times as a newbie in this cryptocurrency industry you might get this wrong by making more mistakes in crypto. Does crypto name really matter before it become successful?

When talking about names in crypto space, the name of a coin dosen't really matter at least not any more but there was a time when names really matters in this space. Then, project ls that has the name of successful coins attached to them do seems to perform well, examples are bitcoin-diamond, monero-gold, ethereum-classic as well as projects that had protocols attached to their names then
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Gas fees too high on: July 27, 2020, 07:46:43 PM
To be honest, the current transaction cost is way too much abd frustrating to the core. Spending almost $0.5 for Eth transactions and more for other ERC20 tokens is just exorbitant, i was thinking the wallet I'm using was the cause but it wasn't because virtually every one is complaining about it.  I just hope something is done ASAP to correct this, otherwise there won't be much difference between eth charges and FIAT charges
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Could this be the best time to invest? on: July 27, 2020, 07:42:17 PM
Now that the cryptocurrency market is moving up gradually the prices of different coins are going up, is it the best time to invest into different cryptocurrency asset or should we wait for a while before investing on any altcoins now.Available many expert on bitcointalk.

What's your opinions?

I believe this is the best time to invest because market is picking up gradually for a massive bull run, if you study crypto charts very well, you'll discover that crypto market experienced a similar movements prior to the last bull run. Expert are predicting it too because even cz_binance tweeted few days ago that bulls are waking up gradually, i believe 4th quarter will be a crypto market boom
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bank of America now treats BTC and ETH as Cash on: July 21, 2020, 07:20:42 PM
Reportedly US Banks are going the treat Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and all crypto purchases same as Cash. In the crypto economy, this move is going to be a milestone. Cool

By merely going through your write-up, i don't think this news is authentic beside you didn't back it up with any source. Let's even assume it happens to be true, i don't think it is actually a milestone for this industry. We are pushing for mass adoption and recognition but definitely not like this one because if the bank of AMERICA should ever treat the purchase of cryptos as a cash, we will definitely lose the good side of crypto besides i see this as a way of feds trying to milk out from crypto enthusiasts
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Allegedly Coinbase prevented 1,000 customers From Sending Funds to the Hackers on: July 21, 2020, 07:14:05 PM

Excellent operational work. If all exchanges had taken such measures in time, the hackers would probably have received significantly less.
What do you think?

This was quite a nice move from coinbase, atleast this prevented +1000 misinformed crypto users who thought doubling there assets would be that easy from falling victim of the twitter hack. I would have said freezing the transfer of users is against everything cryptocurrency and blockchain stands for but then again, they are centralized exchange with full access and jurisdictions not to talk of the fact that it was done for a common good! Kudos to coinbase team!
19  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will NEVER reach it's ATH anymore. on: July 21, 2020, 06:49:32 PM
Everything you pointed out is correct, a lot of people are indeed in this space without even knowing the concept and vision behind blockchain and bitcoin, all they know bitcoin to be is an asset that has the tendency to increase in price overnight which is not entirely true. Bitcoin as a digital asset was created to provide a decentralized currency that gives everyone freedom over their financial activities, and until the entire crypto community is able to push that agender only then we might see the mass adoption we are pushing for
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Fiat vs Crypto in money laundering on: July 18, 2020, 11:30:10 PM
Hi guys I just want to share a short prove showing that Fiat is been used more in money laundering schemes than crypto and if people attacks you with crypto's being used to launder money. Refer them to this article on ccn
Fiat Money Outpaces Bitcoin 800:1 for Money Laundering

https://www.ccn.com/fiat-money-outpaces-bitcoin-by-8001-for-nefarious-activities-report/

This is so because the world population still uses FIAT and most of the people often being prey on by criminals uses FIAT, the world's population currently using cryptocurrency can still be considered insignificant and just to clear things up, it is easier to get away with fraud through cryptocurrency than FIAT because crypto is decentralized amd Fiat is centralized with identity of everyone involved
