looks like the hardfork went well...nobody complaining! Cheesy
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Radium VS. Factom on: April 07, 2016, 05:31:59 AM
Hello I ask and will start here a discussion about wich coin and project is better to invest.

Radium or Factom?

Who are the advantages and wich project/coin has more potential to grow?

For Investment, I'd say RADS.

That's because it's highly undervalued right now.
There will be 3M coins in circulation and right now the rate is 0.6$, whereas in Factom, there are 8.7M coins with a rate of 1.5$ per coin.

So far FCT is doing better cause there doing better , they go places , there known , intervieuws, etc Rads is unknown and the devs are roque

a form of croquet played on a hard court surrounded by a bank?

Will escrow still be with coinbase?
no
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ICO][PRE-ANN] PRISM - PrismChain, A Blockchain Environment - CROWDSALE LIVE on: March 16, 2016, 05:35:51 PM
We are switching our payment gateway to a new one which allows multiple coin exchange other than BTC to participate in the Crowdsale.

This will bring more investors from different communities into PRISM.

AKA coinbase dropped them and they are trying to still take your money

Small question, staking only active with unlocked and online client/wallet ?

yes you can stake only while online, but the wallet doesnt have to be completely unlocked..it can be unlocked ONLY for staking and not for transactions

when you click unluck wallet in the settings drop down a window will pop up and there will be a place to enter your password and a check box asking "unlock for staking only?" have that box checked and it keeps your wallet locked for transactions
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: February 20, 2016, 05:58:34 PM
and you can see Factom btc flowing into RADS.

Really? Where?

Poloniex , FCT down and Rads up like 100%

What a bunch of nonsense..

and why is that ? Actually i believe people diverse there investment and if you can do it between Fct and Rads its not a bad idea.

well, would I rather put my precious btc into a coin run by broke anonymous college students or a business of 40+ making deals with China and partnering with Microsoft.. hmmm.. well I think we know the answer, but hey do what you feel if right for you. All I can see is nice accumulation occurring at these levels. Please keep selling the rest of your 50%, my buys are ready.

hmmm steve jobs, mark zuckerburg, bill gates...all use to be broke college students...wonder what ever happened to them

Anyone can tell me how much is the minimum to have a chance of staking something with this coin? thanks in advance.
Roughly 2,500.

The link is now on the OP.

The website should be up in a few hours. Smiley

awesome! great work everyone..im really excited about this project!

Sure thing!  larger documents require a large amount of Radon asset to store, to discourage bloating the blockchain. The Recommended method for such documents, would be to store the hash, and then store the hash in the blockchain. This still provides proof of the time the document was recorded, and prevents any alterations to the document. If the document were to be changed after the hash is recorded, the document would no longer verify.

I'm starting to see the potential in this, WOW!

btw the smartchain client hashes the file and stores the hash on the blockchain automatically
eta for public realse of Phase 2?

As soon as I can fix a few more minor issues, beta in slack went better than expected. Smiley

jj i really tried...im sorry Smiley

Well, this has been hidden well for me, only learned it exists from the Factom topic.

Can anyone give me 5 real life use case examples for this coin?

well with the smartchain client, there are a few features that are quite useful. the file hashing and verification is great from a security standpoint. say a developer releases some code and they have the file hashed and that hash encoded into the blockchain. say their account gets hacked and somebody changes the software so that they can infect people computers with the updated code. so somebody downloads the software and then runs it through the hash verification function that hashes the code and then checks the blockchain's data to see who posted it and when it was posted. if it comes back unverified even though its supposed to be on there.. then you know the code has been tampered with

another use is text encoding, which in a sense can be used to encode historical data permanently into the blockchain...it could be weather, stock prices, major events, and so on

there is also a way for the developer to encode data to the blockchain that will send alerts to everyone in case of urgent updates or whatever

with Radium Send, people can send radium or radon(smartchain asset) to a username instead of an address, which makes it an on blockchain user registration system fully decentralized

and because of the Radon is created through slow decay, it will keep people from spamming the blockchain with data while still being a non competetive method to store data if you want to, which helps control bloat.

also with user Verification code there adds a bit of trust to the system, if a user has been verified using some third party(say on here or slack and the person can prove that is their user name) people can trust that that user has access to that account, plus in case of that user getting hacked, that name can be unverified(all this does is change their status on the chain and nothing else) which means it would be harder for the hacked account to be used in some scamming plan.

and these are all being fleshed out as time goes by, but right now these things work very well, we have been doing testing for quite some time and jj's client is a very simple interface to use. plus once more users start to use the smartchain client and we get some feedback it will just become more polished and hopefully have a larger feature set than it currently already has.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: January 25, 2016, 05:04:22 AM
"[...]not approved at least by Microsoft company, it is not necessary to say that this project is worth the attention". My god, my eyes are bleeding !! So microsoft azure is now the only way to tell if a project is nice or not ?? Ahaha

No, it's not. But at least it is one of many signs that Factom is on a really good way and taken seriously. Why? Because it's obvious that Factom is not just about future promises. The team delivers, is highly active and I never saw a project that is so thought-out in every aspect.

With that said: It's not possible to compare a PoS-Coin that started 2 weeks ago with some promises with Factom and to say that it would do more with less money and all the nice words. I don't say it's not with good intentions, but while it's easy to sing the correct words of "I want it all" it doesn't make anybody to Freddie Mercury. ;-)

Great song btw: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hFDcoX7s6rE

This "PoS-Coin" was actually launched 9 months ago on May 17, 2015; 7 months before FACTOM. Only 2 weeks the coin rebranded to a more professional image. Also, only 2 weeks ago the first SmartChain phase was released to the mainnet for public use. I think Phase 2 should be coming tomorrow or so. It took over 9 months to develop this ground breaking technology. The Radium development team delivers and is active. And already have delivered/are continuing to deliver on their promises.

I have nothing against that project and I wish you all the best with it. I just wouldn't compare it with Factom because there are reasons why Factom is where it is. And if you believe it's just about money: That Factom is well funded is also a result of work. They started over 12 months ago with it. You seem to believe Factom started when it hit Poloniex, but you just have to look when this thread started: November 07, 2014, 03:55:09 AM, and it needed also work before. It's about every step.

There may be similarities regarding the base-idea, but it's not just about that. It's about the whole concept and every detail and how it's done and sure, than it's also about money-backing. There are also reasons why Radiom is where it is. There must be reasons why it needed a re-launch or why it needed even a new Twitter account with actually 35 followers or why the coinmarketcap shows a chart since Jan 18 and so on. That are also the reasons why I believed it's a new project.

But again, I wish you all the best with it and maybe it will be a success and maybe it's helpful to get some attention for it in the Factom-thread. ;-)

the reason coinmarketcap's charts are like that is because of the rebranding(not relaunch) we didnt want to have to do everything twice..so the rebrand was done(pretty much just some name shuffling and graphic updates) and then coinmarketcap was contacted and one of the devs asked me if i would run the twitter account so i set that up just a week or two ago..ive been with the radon project since the beginning and have helped test the smartchain client and stuff..

but its finally coming together and the tech is really quite nice...we just havent spent a whole lot of time just yet trying to promote the coin..we wanted things functioning correctly..

i really like the idea of encoding data into blockchains and its cool seeing another coin getting a lot of attention(factom) it means people want this sorta tech..so im excited about both of these coins and their approach to data on the chain Smiley

wonder how market will react to when they find out factom competition radium coin

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1333026.msg13654492#msg13654492

market cap 30,000 dollars yet

Radium is a very valid competition to other currencies that offer blockchain based services.

I don't understand why the marketcap is so low, probably because it's only listed on C-Cex so far. From reading the Radium SmartChain thread, their blockchain utility includes username-address linkage, id verification, asset transfer, text notes, file hashes, and file verification.

Factom has first-mover advantage, plus a lot of exposure in the media.

i feel like factom and the radium smartchain both have a place in the cryptoverse...they have two very different approaches of using the blockchain for different applications...and im excited to see both of them used and also see how they progress in the future
