61  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 5830's, what mh/s are you getting? on: July 08, 2011, 06:51:19 AM
how are you guys getting past 900mhz overclock? My CCC only goes to 900. I heard something about using a tool from MSI to get into the 950 range but also heard that it only helps a tiny bit.

Also, these XFX cards of mine have lifetime warranty. What can I/can I not do to OC to the max but still keep that warranty. I know I can't flash the card BIOS, for example.

I dont get, I make the least at deepbit.. their fees must be crazy high...

I've tried them all..  deepbit is fast, but dosent account for the lost money in fees... cause its alot...
trust me people

Agreed x3.  I'm only on week 2 (0r 3?) of mining and I was on deepbit for the longest time until it went down for a bit.  Switch to bitclockers for the past 2 days and I've been getting WAY more BTC paid out than I ever did with deepbit!

@WillMitchell - From the ugly image in your sig, what does "speical" mean?

LOL

Regsiter your workers with not only a workername and passwork, but also with an IP address.  You can have 100 machines at home mining, but they will all have the same internet-facing IP address from your ISP Modem's NATing.

Block all other ports and unregistered IP addresses.

Done.

Am I missing something here?  Why would this way not work?

http://bitclockers.com/ Smooth sailing for weeks Cheesy

Spoke too soon!  BitClockers is now also down :p

IPv6 needs to be switched on globally and most of these problems would go away.

Invites ARE STILL AVAILABLE.

Yeah, if someone sends you "a tip"...

What about those of us without a bitcoin yet who are just looking to buy some straight up?

Funny, I just asked the same thing about Deepbit last week ---> http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=24602.msg305461#msg305461

The numbers just don't add up and it seems that some bitcoins are going missing somewhere...  Even adding up all my rewards do not equal my balance.

Something shady going on here I think!

I always get "no such option: -w" whenever I try to enter it as an extra flag....

Ahh, nevermind!  It was WORKLOAD= not -w...

Using "-k poclbm VECTORS BFI_INT AGGRESSION=11 WORKLOAD=128" works much better :p

I find I get better Mh/s with a workload of 128 than 256.

I also found that I have to run my overclock on the top 5830 lower than the bottom one so that it doesn't get too hot.  My top card runs at 870Mhz and my bottom card at 965Mhz.  This way, my top card runs at ~74*C and the bottom at ~70*C.  I get around 490-500Mh/s.

I know they're well below their max temps, but I'm going to play it safe until I get my new CoolerMaster case which should be here tomorrow.  My current case has crappy airflow.

Yesterday I had them both cranked much higher running in the high 70's *C and I was pulling ~590Mh/s.  I'll be pushing even harder with the new case Smiley

Both cards are 5830 Xtremes

Well, the BBQ went well and lots of people showed up.  Still haven't received more than the 0.009 BTC in donations Sad

I spent almost 200 Euros in meat and booze, so this is my last request for donations  Roll Eyes

75  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 500Mh/s worth trying to solo mine? on: July 03, 2011, 08:50:00 AM
Thanks for all the replies guys.  I think I will stick to pooling.  When I get my second rig up and running, I might have it run solo for a month or two and see what happens before I throw it into a pool.

Cheers!
76  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What's your Mhash/s? (Pissing contest here) on: July 01, 2011, 01:06:03 PM
580-590 Mh/s from two 5830 Xtremes, crossfired and overclocked to 935Mhz.  Will be overclocking even more once my CoolerMaster case gets here Smiley

Temps are around 70-75 *C ATM
77  Other / Beginners & Help / GPU Temps on: July 01, 2011, 11:31:02 AM
Since I'm still stuck in the noob forum until I rack up 2 more hours, I'll post here.

I'm running 2 5830 Xtreme's overclocked to 935Mhz and ghetto rigged some extra fans next to my cards until I get my new case.  My GPU's run 73-75 *C.  Is it a safe temp?  Can I bump up the OC even more?

I'm now running at 580-590 Mh/s with this setup.

80  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 500Mh/s worth trying to solo mine? on: July 01, 2011, 10:00:46 AM
I would not solo mine with 500Mh/s, why not using a pool? So you would get a regular income instead of waiting for the BIG BANG which eventually never happens.

I have been in a pool since I started last week.  The payout hasn't been what I expected from what I read before I started, but I think it has to do with the recent jump in difficulty.  I was just wondering if it was worth it and I wasn't 100% sure so I thought I'd ask for opinions.

Thanks guys! Smiley
