rpcallowip format changed Ah! I thought I was going crazy. Do you recall off hand what the syntax is? Edit: I wasn't using rpcallow before. Is it required now?? server=1

ok I'm having a brainfart or something has changed in the config. installed bitcoind 0.10.0 with existing bitcoin.conf from 0.9. Ran p2pool and get 401 authorization required. C:\p2pool\run_p2pool.py -a 1MinerGcfwXJW6BETKLPQTmKYomc1uGAXy --bitcoind-config-path C:\D Drive\Bitcoin\bitcoin.conf -n 59.167.237.19:9333 -n 115.70.176.17:9333 -n 203.219.14.204:9333 --max-conns 30 --give-author 0 --iocp --irc-announce

Here I was thinking this doesn't work when I thought I'd try it on my other S3+. Setting to 262.5 (because I don't dare go higher without extra pcie cables) I am getting 540Gh/s out of it @ 40 Celsius and 0.0062% error rate. My other S3 can only muster 460Gh/s at 231.25Mhz any higher and the has rate drops and I get an x on one of the asics

Can someone clarify something for me? How much bandwidth does running a node generally eat up per day?
The only thing that uses any bandwidth worth considering is the Bitcoin node. If a new node pulls the Blockchain down from your node thats 20gb (uploaded from you). Other than that is kb/s for transaction traffic. |

Fuck me.... After nearly 2 days P2pool just got a block...

It's up and down but in the end it should work out. I have the majority of my hashing on here now and it won't be going anywhere any time soon. |

Hi guys, new to the whole bitcoin scene and stumbled upon this pool.
Currently mining using GUIMiner and mining at 32ish MHash/s. I have a couple of questions:
What are shares? Mine is currently showing 10 shares accepted
How and when do I get my bitcoins?
If anyone could give me an answer, that would be great. Sorry, total noooob here.
Hi smoothfreeze, First of all you are not going to get a valid p2pool share on the sharechain with 32mh/s. you need around 1th/s to get shares that count towards a block. Essentially there are small "shares" that are sent to you by the node, they contribute to a full share on the sharechain but you need to get a share before the next block comes and that share needs to stay valid until the block comes or it can drop off the sharechain. In a nutshell it's a block broken up into a bunch of tiny bits, when you mine direct to bitcoin you must solve a whole block to get paid but on a pool, any pool, you mine shares and then you get a certain number of shares in the block based on your hashing power. each miner in a pool mines together to increase the chances of getting a block. Aah, okay. So I was looking around the forum and I'm considering on purchasing this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=555471, a USB powered miner. Is this good enough for mining? Are you wanting to make money or just do it for fun? For fun I'd recommend an Antminer S1 to Make money an S3 or S4 in Australia may just earn ahead of the power it uses. If you want to get serious then the current machine of choice seems to be the Spoondliestech SP20. |

Norgz,
When u mine with your miners are u mining with all 3 miners on the one address & if so do u find u get a lot of duplicate shares or rejects??
Maybe more that u would if u mined on a different address for each miner or would u have less chance of finding shares & get paid less if u mined under 3 addresses??
I always mine all three with the one address and don't have any issues. they all send and receive shares perfectly fine. |

Norgz, Can u tell me, What type of miners are u using & whats ur total speed??

I have two S3's and an S1. They clock in all up at around 1.1th/s. You can see it on the graphs page under the 1miner address. |

Ok now u've got me, How do i go about that? Cause i have no idea... & in light of that where or who will the coins be returned to??
Like this: blockchain.info/address/1MinerGcfwXJW6BETKLPQTmKYomc1uGAXy But put the address you were using at the end instead of mine. So you had an address with these guys for trading? Did they state that you can't mine directly to it? They usually do with exchanges. Long story short your btc is lost and it's unlikely you'll get it back, one disadvantage of unregulated currency although you'd be no better off if you had done an eft transfer of fiat currency. |

I do own the address but its a vicurex address...
Any thoughts other than asking them??
I've just order a S4 as well...
You can only go to the blockchain listing and ask them to return the btc shown coming from p2pool (freshly minted btc). |

Its something to do with the address i was using is there anyway to recover those coins??
I changed my address & i haven't had a problem since
Good to hear you got it fixed. Since your shares are submitted under that Bitcoin address they belong to that address. I do not know of a way to recover those shares unfortunately. |
