I dream of the day when alt coins are not tied to the price of bitcoin. Uhg...
42  Economy / Exchanges / What do bitcoin ATMs do with your phone number? on: June 08, 2021, 04:26:01 AM
Are they legally required to ask for your number or do they want it for themselves?

Are there any free online numbers that will work?
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Are there any new wallets/exchanges that will let you easy swap coins for XMR? on: June 07, 2021, 12:28:18 AM

Simple question but if anyone wants to know some backstory.... I used to use the incognito wallet. The fees were measured in pennies. But... I ended up losing nearly 2000 dollars in slippage fees. Basically half of what I exchanged didn't make it somehow. I used to absolutely positively love and adore the incognito wallet. It was like the best thing since sliced bread, it literally only cost like a penny or two worth of their native token to swap bitcoin or whaever crypto for monero or whatever other crypto. I used it for a long time no issues until one day I made a trade. I didn't think about slippage or anything. I've swapped on other wallets and slippage is between 1 and 3% and it's set to a max meaning if it's more than that it wont go through (at least on safepal swap). Well, I hadn't heard much about the wallet, and I was cautious and over the course of months when I got my paycheck and bought on an exchange, sent a few hundred on the site and traded for monero. Everything about the wallet was legit so I never had any issues so when the markets were dumping, I decided to go all in one day and got all my savings during this big crypto dump.

I just made the trade like I always did and wham. I was wondering.... why.... do I only have like 4100 dollars worth of XMR when I traded nearly 6000 dollars? Wtf, is this some sort of error? I looked at the charts, used some conversion sites and realized omg.. during the span of a minute or less, a ton of money just went "poof." I contacted their staff and they said it was lost to slippage because the amount was too large of a trade or something, they said sorry for my loss but nothing can be done about it. I nearly rage quit from this news because that money I saved up for years of my life. So like nearly an entire year of saved up wage slaved wages gone, poof, in less than a minute. Lesson learned. I'm still devastated over the loss but yeah Idk if I can trust the incognito wallet anymore after that. I guess I should have researched it more but there is hardly any info, no warnings or anything about this specific situation. I guess that's what happens when you're careless with this stuff and take things for granted just assuming an app will work as you expect it to. Well... hopefully long as I hodl it will eventually go up I guess and at very least one day recover what I lost. Of course I'm sure Bog is gonna keep the markets dumped. The luck in my life makes me think they're personally out to get me in particular, so far the markets are making me think we're done with the bull run so idk. I dont even flinch when I put money in and there is a dip or dump. You know if you hold it will prob just go back up... But when the money just goes poof, and doesn't even make it from a conversion over. It's like seeing the money just go up in flames. Totally different feeling.

44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I Predict $20,000 for dogecoin in 5years time on: June 06, 2021, 03:03:24 AM
Idk about 20k but maybe 10 bucks one day.

I read about people thinking it was impossible for bitcoin to reach 20k and likewise even more recently. In my limited crypto life. I remember when people thought it unlikely for doge to even reach 1 cent. talking about how it would have to have ____ market cap and etc and a dollar was even more unlikely. So it reaching 70 cents. who knows, it might reach a dollar or 2 even within the next few years.
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / How would someone track a bitcoin transaction that got exchanged for monero? on: May 13, 2021, 06:07:35 PM
So bitcoin gets exchanged for monero, the monero is sent somewhere else and exchanged back to bitcoin in a similar not not exact amount. How would someone who is interested in following the transaction history be able to know where the new bitcoin address is that the monero exchanged into?
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can Dogecoin reach 1$ soon? on: May 09, 2021, 04:50:22 AM
Bogdanoff is trying to dump the markets with no survivors. Hopefully Elon can overpower him
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So exactly how good is Vechains blockchain supply management system? on: May 08, 2021, 10:53:18 PM
Any blockchain can be used for logistics and supply management, you just need to correct dapp and qr codes. It's likely that large logistics and inventory management software providers like Oracle and SAGE will simply release their own solutions based on Hyperledger or Ethereum.

Why would they choose those over Vechain when Vechain is already set up with its own infrastructure?
48  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Thread deletion on: May 07, 2021, 01:32:58 AM

basically all Stablecoin remain 1$ more or less

and the transaction is pretty fast in all chain

but fee i think  is USDT on TRC20 or BUSD on BEP20

Wait so USDT is on TRC20? If it's on the Tron network then USDT would be the cheapest right?
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / So exactly how good is Vechains blockchain supply management system? on: May 07, 2021, 01:22:08 AM
I hear it's good but how much better is it for companies to invest in using it? I know there are some using it already I believe. How long have they been operating and if they have a good record of reliability what is stopping more major western companies from using it? I hear it's mostly eastern companies in China. How much would a company save using Vechain over standard logistics tracking?
50  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Thread deletion on: May 05, 2021, 03:05:05 AM
Here's what I've found for you OP.

You might want to read some of it but don't worry it's not that long to read. Grin
Just look up what you wanted to know and you might like it and researching really required a lot of time so take your time to gain some knowledge. Wink

I knew most of that but thanks didn't know about Binance USD and some of the others. Though it doesn't say if they're ERC-20 or not. I assume BUSD is powered by the Binance token though so that should be cheaper to send than the ERC-20 tokens. I'll have to look up if PAX and TUSD are ERC-20 tokens as it doesn't say in the website there.

The most obvious reason was that it was a low quality post which could also in turn attract spam from replying members.

If you look at the coins, it makes no sense comparing or asking about which one has the cheapest transaction fees and fastest confirmation speed because they are all just merely tokens on Ethereum blockchain

The fee you would pay to transfer USDT (ERC20) will be the same fee for USDC (ERC20) and DAI (ERC20) so I think the mod saw it as a low quality post/question.

You shouldn't even dwell on the why the thread was deleted. Just try to make better posts next time.

I didn't know all ERC20 tokens cost the same to move, also didn't know that they were all ERC20 tokens in the first place but thank you guys for the info. Smiley

Sorry I'm so noobish at this stuff. One day I aspire to be pros like you guys!
51  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Thread deletion on: May 04, 2021, 10:03:34 PM
Thanks. I looked on those two websites, as well as have already researched a lot on them. I could probably write a 2 page essay on stable coins but I can't for the life of me find the exact transfer fees among them.

Lots of stuff about "withdrawing" fees and even trading fees but not much on sending from one crypto wallet to another. Like miner or gas fees.

Is there a site that legit just talks about the purely sending/transfer fees for each crypto?
52  Other / Beginners & Help / Thread deletion on: May 04, 2021, 09:48:39 PM
I made a thread called

"Which stable coin is the cheapest + fastest for sending?
Between USDT, USDC, and DAI"

And it got deleted. I asked a mod and he said he didn't delete it but maybe it violated the first rule of the website about "No zero or low value, pointless or uninteresting posts or threads. "

So.... if that's the case sorry. Maybe this is such an obvious answer. Me being a noob I honestly dont know other than in terms of sending, XLM, Tron and XRP are much cheaper than Bit and Eth.

But if the thread was in fact a violation of rule 1 because it's just something everyone should know. Is there a website that teaches all of the basics of all of the different cryptos and their fees? I looked online and didn't find much other than stuff about the fees on bitcoin vs Eth vs others but it didn't talk about stable coins. So if there is like a wikipedia or website for all the cryptos I'll refer to that before asking on here.

Could be they're afraid of the IRS and taxes... o_o
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Dogecoin overpriced? on: May 04, 2021, 08:28:53 PM
I know a girl who literally bought doge for the sole reason of "aww cute doggy!"

I shit you not. If she kept some, she's doing pretty well right now.

The cuteness of it might get people into the crypto space so regardless if you think it's a shit coin or not, it's a good thing if it gets people in and using it.
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Cardano overthrow Ethereum? on: May 03, 2021, 03:18:48 PM
I think it was on track to until Eth 2.0 started to actually come out "allegedly" now people are jumping on that.

If Eth development stayed stagnant, yeah I think ADA would have eventually taken over but Eth is breaking out.

ADA still has hope with the Africa project. If they get that in the bag, they might be doing their own thing in Africa. But so long as Eth actually successfully implements Eth 2.0 it's not going to be killed by ADA. ADA is a bit more risky considering if the Africa project fails, they're going to suffer from that. I dont see any issue with the project itself, rather, the governments in Africa changing their mind.
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Why is Vechain so much in the lead against Waltonchain? on: May 03, 2021, 03:15:00 PM
Waltonchain looks dead, is it over for Waltonchain or do you think it will one day rival Vechain again?

What happened? I read something about Vechain was chosen over Waltonchain for supply chain management. Is there a flaw in Waltonchain or is Vechain just a lot better and more efficient?
57  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Has anyone used the Incognito wallet? on: May 01, 2021, 02:36:50 AM
Yeah. So I've been trying it and well I'm mostly just using it as if it's a bitcoin mixer. The fees are very low. I'm not keeping anything on it, but I am using it to receive bitcoin not associated with me.

It takes...... FFOOORRRREEEEVVVVVEEEERRRR to mask it and stuff. Like. Holy crap.
58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: What is the fastest, simplest and cheapest way to "swap" coins for XMR? on: April 29, 2021, 06:37:34 PM
I think I figured one out. For anyone else who might have the same questions. It's called "the incognito" wallet. the fees to swap coins for XMR seem pretty low.

This is one of probably many different ways.
59  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Has anyone used the Incognito wallet? on: April 29, 2021, 06:18:48 PM
^ Some wallets like the Exodus wallet have their own fees for "swaping" coins. Exodus is pretty high. swap 100 usd worth of something pay between 10 and 15 dollars.

60  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I Predict $20,000 for dogecoin in 5years time on: April 29, 2021, 05:49:44 PM
$20,000 woow thats a huge step to climb. They might get there someday if they really put in strong work and initiatives but achieving that in 5 years thst sounds kind of unrealistic

Maybe 20 years from now when we have mass inflation
