21  Economy / Speculation / Re: Global crisis... on: January 16, 2016, 07:44:17 PM
Nah, not that bad.  I think a lot of what's going on in the market is related to the recent interest rate hike--at least in the US.  If money gets more expensive to borrow, stock prices generally go down.  I don't think what we're seeing is anywhere near as bad as the great depression.  Not even 2009 was that bad.
A 0.25% interest rate hike is not what is causing this sell off. Things are going to get a lot worse. A lot worse.

I'm afraid that my belief in the success of Bitcoin has truly been shaken in the last few months. I just don't see any light at the end of the tunnel.

They don't call bitcoin the honeybadger of money for nothing.  You think the honeybadger gives a shit about Mike hearn?
I hope you're right.

24  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Bitcoin Will Not Survive", says Jamie Dimon on: January 01, 2016, 07:53:30 PM
I don't care about opinion of Dimon. It is hard to predict the future of bitcoin and I strongly believe that he is not good at that.
I still remember Bill Gates saying that we won't be need more than 1MB of memory ever for our PC or something like that.
With bitcoin it will be the same, revolution is in motion.
There are millions and million's people around the world is using Bitcoins, trading, gambling, spending online. People are getting rich with the savings of Bitcoins money. I also don't care about Jamie Dimon s speech. It is his thinking not ours. And it will sure grip the whole market in future.
The millions and millions of people you refer to as using Bitcoin for trading, gambling, and spending online, will stop using it when transaction fees become too high. It seems that this is where we are headed and Bitcoin will no longer be useful to those "millions and millions of people" you were talking about.

Follow the weekly Bitstamp chart. If it closes green for 6 times in a row, we are on bubble territory (currently 4 consecutive weekly greens). If we instead end this week in red, there is nothing to worry.

IF we get 6 greens, this means we can go on for a long time still but watch for a blowoff top and trade accordingly.

The methodology worked perfect in the latest 500 spike, and you can easily check a very good match with all previous bubbles as well.

First TERA and now Risto- we're getting the band back together!

no better indicator of a bull market than old-timers becoming active again Smiley

Hold on there, Pardner.  Don't confuse cause and effect. All that means is the price is higher.  The bull market isn't really back until the ATH is topped.  That won't happen without a scaling fix because long before we get to four digits, we'll slam into the 1MB blocksize limit.

When the blocks are totally full, the fees could go up 100X what they are now because there is only enough capacity for ~600,000 transactions per day.  That's it, no matter how high the fees go, there won't be enough capacity for each of us to have even one xation/day each. NO MATTER HOW HIGH THE FEES GO.

You don't wait until the snow starts falling before you start chopping firewood. It's coming.

Maybe the chiming of old timer voices is just the sound of Bitcoins death knell?
26  Other / Meta / Re: Why are half the threads here completely ridiculous? Honestly. on: December 19, 2015, 05:39:18 AM
There are people on this forum that put anyone they believe is involved in a signature campaign on ignore.
27  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is there such a big problem with Satoshi? on: December 10, 2015, 10:21:32 PM
Satoshi has somewhere around one million coins. If these coins were to be sold on the market, it could crash the price.
28  Economy / Speculation / Re: So the panick buying is kicking in.. on: December 09, 2015, 11:57:02 PM
The pattern is fully formed.

I like threads like these. It gives me a different perspective of the forum itself, and the views and interactions I have here.
30  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 06, 2015, 05:22:02 PM

I seriously thought about selling yesterday. This is why I don't trade.

Eur/usd jumped +3.15% today.
So...good time to buy dollars on the dip? Or will euro bubble? Should I hodl euros?

Well, yellen want an up of rates on dollar ... less than 2%.
that's why euro surge.

eh wot!?

The liquidity aka as 'free money' supporting equities at the moment would evaporate and the markets would collapse....

Those are not even close to anarchists.  Those are identical to the collectivist leftists posting in this thread.  Leftism is a mental disorder based on inferiority complex where you can only relate to groups deemed weak, discriminated against, wronged, inferior, etc.

Those people latch onto the whales because they see them as having been wronged.  It's a clear case of textbook collectivist leftism.  Their mental disorder is often mistaken for just common empathy, but that's not how it works.  Anything seen as strong or seemingly normal they have contempt for, so it's not empathy, but an actual behavior pattern/defect.

They were all dumped into the trash can when they were younger and now show contempt for anything in their mind that they see stronger than themselves (which is everything).
I think that pretty much sums it up. I totally agree.
33  Economy / Speculation / Re: What about Bitcoin binary options? on: November 27, 2015, 08:58:30 PM
I don't think what you're talking about, will work.
34  Economy / Speculation / Re: What about Bitcoin binary options? on: November 27, 2015, 08:31:59 PM
https://bitbet.us/

It's already a thing.

Thanks for letting me know about bitbet. I didn't know about them, but they're similar to Predictious. They both use Yes/No statements about different things. However, they are not finance focused. For example, there is only one item on the price of silver: it's either below $9 before Dec. 2015 or not, that's it. What if I want to say it's above $14.50 tomorrow? Or $14.60 the next day? There are just two BTC price related items. I'm talking about a platform just for finance related items, and ability to be more granular. Traders like to speculate on and make money on small price movements, not general statements. I thought I'd find people like that here, in the Speculation thread. Am I in the wrong place?
If I'm not mistaken, you can create your own new bet on the bitbet site.
35  Economy / Speculation / Re: What about Bitcoin binary options? on: November 27, 2015, 08:01:20 PM

lol Thank you for recommending the forum Gambling section Smiley

However, binary options are not gambling, at least no more than investing in the stock market in general. They are a new type of financial product similar to Contracts for Difference (CFDs), another contract where you never own the underlying asset, which are useful for different financial options:

It's already a thing.

40  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Technical Analysis for 11/8/2015 Stability in sight on: November 08, 2015, 04:49:12 PM
I think everyone should use the pronoun "him" when referring to Bitcoin.
