161  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [400GH/s] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: June 14, 2012, 06:44:40 PM
Some very important optimization changes have been made! It could reduce the block orphan rate from current 5%-15% to <1% (ideally).

https://github.com/forrestv/p2pool/commits/master

Everyone, please go update NOW!

Devs, please force this upgrade by splitting the chain, people will not update voluntarily Sad

It's called football.

those are double molex. I want single molex

I left too, I can pull 3 times what I was making on p2pool almost anywhere else.

Let's keep it realistic, people, no need to spread fear Smiley We might all be worried, or not, but the difference is no bigger than 10%.
165  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can I have my first ever 1 BTC? on: May 05, 2012, 12:50:54 PM
Can I have my first ever 1 BTC?

YES!!! You totally can!
166  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [360GH/s] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: May 04, 2012, 01:09:01 PM
This switchover is different from previous ones - Instead of a scheduled time, all nodes will automatically switch 22 hours after 95% of the P2Pool hash rate has upgraded. Therefore, please upgrade as soon as possible so you're not part of the last 5%!

Superb idea, but I'm afraid that you might be aiming too high. 95% could never happen. I'd say 75% would be better.

GOT BLOCK FROM PEER! Passing to bitcoind! 5f1b56ad bitcoin: http://blockexplorer.com/block/00000000000007fe6fe7c139c4aa351efb4116e836169bb38f3fea7eaf270cc7

I got identified as the owner of this block, even though I was only relaying it Smiley Wonderful to see that p2pool blocks get distributed through 2 networks simultaneously, which should be a huge advantage, even if it was not enough this time.
168  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Deepbit needs to be dismantled immediately. on: March 24, 2012, 12:54:10 PM
Could someone make a simple script or something to DDoS deepbit? I'd happily donate some CPU and bandwidth to such noble cause.
169  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Dear AMD: Where the fuck is fglrx 12.2? on: March 05, 2012, 07:43:45 PM
No linux driver for more than a month! ADM, seriously Huh
170  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [270GH/s] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: March 03, 2012, 11:50:35 PM
5 blocks in two weeks, I must be in lucky mode. Grin My farm is 7.5GH/s and only part of it allocated to p2pool. Wink

You should upgrade your bitcoind to support P2SH!

171  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Angry about Linode's fiasco? Start mining at a pool supporting multisig! on: March 02, 2012, 09:19:02 PM
Good that you said that. What's the most straightforward way for local or p2pool miners to start supporting p2sh?

Latest bitcoind from https://sourceforge.net/projects/bitcoin/files/Bitcoin/bitcoin-0.6.0/test/
Latest p2pool from https://github.com/forrestv/p2pool/downloads

No patching needed.

I've had to flash every 6000/7000 card to drop the memory clock by a significant amount and to drop the voltage at all (in Linux).
Would you please share the knowledge how to flash (or modify the bios of) 7000 cards?
173  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [270GH/s] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: February 16, 2012, 08:14:11 PM
BTW, since I'm using proportional at deepbit instead of PPS.  Prop has a much lower fee (3%) than PPS (10%)

If you are not pool hopping and mining on deepbit proportional, you are getting LESS THAN 97%.
174  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: What is the correct P2SH coinbase flag? on: February 11, 2012, 10:02:38 PM
In the meantime, people who want to vote for P2SH could mine with p2pool! Wink
175  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 7970 Linux drivers released on: February 09, 2012, 08:16:02 AM
Well I can't seem to use these drivers with my 6000 series cards plugged in at the same time Undecided. It's either or for now  Tongue

I'm running 6000 series and one 7970 on ubuntu 11.04 and the shitty 8.921 driver. It involved manually editing xorg.conf, not sexy :/ Also cannot change voltage and seriously downclock memory.

Please share if you had better progress, thanks!

177  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Join me in the biggest mining pool boycott Bitcoin has ever seen on: February 06, 2012, 09:34:38 AM
Everyone who cares for bitcoin's success, should solo mine or mine on p2pool, follow development and vote with their bitcoin clients (hashing power).

Weakening the security of your own money is stupid!

I was able to mine on Oneiric Ocelot 11.10, but I was losing 2% hashrate with otherwise same setup. Couldn't figure it out, just had to fall back to Natty Narwhal 11.04.

Thank you!

Cabin, that's how I understand it too. We're doing our own fast small blockchain that distributes the reward, but if you get to solve a block that share never goes stale, it has max priority!

Let's give it a few days and see how the payments are during lucky times!
