1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: margin - Bitcoin Trading Bot: Binance, Bittrex, HitBTC, Poloniex, Bitfinex... on: September 21, 2018, 10:13:37 AM
Hello All

Is there a way to auto reinvest profits from a trade rather than have them sit in BTC?

For example.

I buy 100 BTC for $100 (just as an example don't get too excited).
I sell the 100 BTC with a 1% gain at $101.
My next trade is then set to buy 101 BTC for $101 dollars....  and so on.

I do this manually already on a daily basis to build my portfolio but would like to automate this.

Any suggestions?

So I managed to get him running by logging him into Poloniex and then adding the bittrex exchange.

Thanks

Code:
Is anyone else having issues this morning?  Margin software will not launch after it crashed.

I'm using the latest release, on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS and Bittrex as the exchange.

Loads, I hit Login initialises Bittrex, checks bittrex credentials and then says checking crededtials and then crasshes, .

[code]
$ ./run-margin.sh
Running on Ubuntu 16.04
./run-margin.sh: line 62: 11162 Segmentation fault      (core dumped) QT_PLUGIN_PATH=$DIR/plugins ./margin.bin
[/code]

Could be a Bittrex issue though of course.

hello All

Quick question.

I have added bitfinex to my bot today. It seems to be taking ages to place another order after making a buy or a sale.

Is this correct?

I've noticed that in the setting menu there is a Bitfinex sectoin stating 'manual call quota per minute' ...  not sure if this is something to do with it.

Thanks

Hool

Hi hooliuk,

What is the 'manual call quota per minute' parameter set at? If it is set too low you can increase it. Most of the calls we do from bitfinex use web sockets and don't affect the call quota.

I just tested Bitfinex there and it was quite fast.

Anyone else having difficulties with Bitfinex?

Best wishes,
Jonathan

definitely seems to be an issue.  But not on all my pairs.  I'm only running 5 pairs but BTC/NEO and BTC/XMR are really struggling. It keeps sitting saying strategy busy...  very odd. I've set the call quota to 70 now.  Lets see if this resolves the issue.

I have another question.  As the price increases it doesn't re-ajust the buy level. it leaves it waiting for a drop rather than constantly working the peaks and troffs.  Have I missed something with that?

thanks

Also it doesn't look like the wallets are updating...  I have sell orders open, and the wallet has not reserved the amount. Then it lets you sell the wallet.  And then...  the order in the strategy stops.

hmmm

So yes if i set the Bitfinex quota control to 70 it auto drops it down to 10. I have disabled the setting now and will retest.

So i'm not sure if it's FUD but the users who use Binance with the BOT, it seems there has been an API issue after their exchange has been hacked.

Or do i have to buy one of the new licenses?

Hello All

I have been using Leonardo for about 4 months now and I get good results.

I will usually average at around 1.26% - 1.69% per day (obviously the conversion to dollars or pounds is crap right now - but the crypto balance is still growing).

What I am looking to try and do and I'm not sure if its a feature but, I would like to auto-change the position in order to accommodate the percentage growth just gained in the last sell.

At the moment I have to do this daily in oder to in effect compound my stake, I would prefer to set it and forget it.  Or spend a couple of mins a day like I do now adjusting the bot.

Any creative ways of doing this  rather than manually?

Thanks

I had to reset my 2FA so my Bittrex API key has been disabled and need to add a new one to Leonardo..  should I just send you an email..?

Thanks

New " funny" thing.
Altcoin history on bittrex dissapeared (simultanously on two different PC's/accounts) and spread become based on last candle!
Then instabuyed/sold coin at "current" price for all stretegies.
Yay, thats bad!

Yesterday I made a full payment of $89 to purchase, I got the download link, but I am not able to login, it says your secret key is not registered.  I tried to contact them many times through mails, but they never bothered to reply.  Is it a scam.

It is NOT a scam, if you purchased through the official website (http://www.marginsoftware.de/product.html). If you did buy it from the official website, it may be the case your secret key had a typo when you filled the form. I'm sure that if that's the case, they will assist you and fix your key.

nope not a scam..  you didn't buy from marginsoftware.net did you?

can u suggest me a currency that u think is good right now for the margin bot ,and also the optimal settings if u don't mind.
thanks

I can't tell you a currency name, but can give some suggestions.

1. The way margin maker works, it is best to go after stable currencies i.e the one which are generally not prone to 'pumps and dumps'

2. The currency you are trading in , should have high trading volume

3. The currency should ideally see a lot of swings (inside a range) within a day.
For eg, if a currency keeps fluctuating between 0.020 btc and 0.026 btc, then it will keep you chance to execute multiple trades within a day.

4. If the trade is in a clear downward trend, I would steer clear of the margin maker and trade manually instead.

5. Keeping in mind the above 4 points, I find that on a given day there are many such pairs to be found within the top 15-20 currencies.
You can go to https://coinmarketcap.com/all/views/all/ to get an idea.

6. Periodically keep reviewing the market, especially the currency which you are trading on. The margin maker is an excellent tool, but periodic manual supervision makes it work even better.

7. I prefer small effective gains over big ones. I keep my minimum effect gain less than 2%. The reason is I feel that a coin has more chances to gain 1% (and subsequently drop  a few percents) than gaining say 10%.
So lets say, you have kept the min eff gain as 8% and the currency keeps fluctuating between 3-4% gains (and drops), then it will be a long time before you would get a sell chance. And you would have missed multiple small trades of 1-2%, which in total MIGHT have made you more than the desired 8%.

Of course, all this is just personal opinion and not a hard and fast rule.

This is a great post - clear and to the point.

I have a quick question about the length of time used for the history of the Margin Maker.  I have been setting it to 12-24 hours.  depending on the volatility. Anyone have any rules of thumb when setting this?

TIA

I've had the same experience my BTC withdrawals 1 completed payment over the last 5 weeks (I should get one every other day). I have had a bit of a response from support.  1 email middle of August and a few replies on Twitter. They say they are aware of the issue and are workin on a fix. Fingers crossed.
