3  Other / Off-topic / Re: 2016, The Year of Bitcoin? on: July 30, 2016, 03:36:17 AM
2016 is the year of bitcoin to stabilize its monetary price or value at 700$.

Weeks before and after the halving many are expecting for a surge of price of bitcoins but it never happened. Well at least it stabilize and will not fall down.

It's also time to save your bitcoins for another turn of price increase next year since I believe that ,2017 is also a year that bitcoin will increase its price.

I hope youre right Smiley

2nd attempt. Above weekly bb. Need to ensure it will stay there.

How long for? Until week close, I assume? This is normally Sunday night?

Correct.

Any plans to update the model in the near future? Interested to see how it looks now that its been 3 months from the last update.
6  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC could jump to price 300 fast on: February 17, 2015, 05:29:09 PM
Doubt it... I dont think any sort of rally will last long.
7  Economy / Speculation / Re: $230 USD now! on: February 14, 2015, 06:59:53 AM
TA shows a great possibility of seeing $300+ in the next few days....
8  Economy / Speculation / Re: Virtual currency transactions expected to plummet in 2015 on: February 05, 2015, 02:20:53 AM
Hard to believe we would see this much of a drop with coinbase, gemini, and the other regulated exchanges which are inevitable in the future.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XC on: January 24, 2015, 05:30:13 PM
Is XC dead? The website has not been updated and the link to the forum on the website doesn't work. Did the coin get abandoned?

Good to see you on here, you still have some XC?  It's definitely not dead, Dan has been on slack today with us while we work through some testing with the new wallet release. There is a lot of news on slack as to whats been happening over the past couple months and a lot of community members have stepped up to help the team as well.  It'd be great to see you in there.

There is also a new website that looks great, and an even better one thats in the works.
10  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who is dumping BTC? on: January 15, 2015, 10:22:48 PM
Might have been Butterfly Labs... anyone seen the article speculating they caused the crash and still have ~90,000 BTC to go?
11  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin long-term exponential trend (updated regularly) on: January 15, 2015, 03:57:45 PM
Just a quick update: it's about -1.985 now, while the all-time-low was -2.23. Still not in uncharted area. To break the ATL, the VWAP has to go below $173 today.

(This is based on bitfinex data as bitcoincharts.com has stopped reporting bitstamp data since the hack)

according to the OP formula calc, it went to -2.38 (new record) when BTC was $155 briefly. Right now -2.11 (at BTC=$203).
I will wait for the double dip and if we will not go below $155, it might be a time for a longterm buy.
Or not.

Please note that the analysis is based on daily VWAP, not instantaneous minimum/maximum price.

Good to know, thanks for updating.
12  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin long-term exponential trend (updated regularly) on: January 15, 2015, 05:03:35 AM
We are in an uncharted territory now, yes?

More or less.  In the 150-160 range we're further below the trend line than we ever have been.  Even at $200 we're close to uncharted territory.
13  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin long-term exponential trend (updated regularly) on: January 04, 2015, 04:31:42 PM
Currently at -1.85, lowest we've been in over 3 years but not uncharted territory.
14  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin long-term exponential trend (updated regularly) on: December 20, 2014, 04:53:56 AM
OP, where are we on the chart? Did we dip below -1.5 yesterday at 307?
I think that we are bouncing pretty hard and many are calling for this bear to be over.

Yep we were at roughly -1.64 yesterday when we hit 307. Hopefully more signs of a trend reversal continue.

One of the dumbest threads ever.

Glad we moved to slack, all they can say is "XC is dead". You have nothing else.

Exactly. When the reality is the exact opposite. For anyone interested in whats really happening with XC we'd love to have you over on slack.

Wow. What is up with price?

Why is it continuing to trend down? New lows every week. This can't just be fud. There is no volume either. Where is the bottom?

Any XC team members have insight, news, and optimism to share from slack?
Whales are keeping the price low so they can accumulate.

Just kidding, 2btc left till 0.00000001 and its dead.

XC team skipping to the bank with their your 900+ btc

Guess you havent been on slack recently talking to the team and the rest of the community because your statement couldnt be more wrong. There is plenty of buy support, myself and many others are and will continue to accumulate, but most are waiting for a trend reversal.

The XC team and community has moved to slack, and its been pretty amazing. I'd love to see even more people over there, there is a lot of work being done and we've been able to help Dan iron out some bugs as well. It's much easier to help test updates and interact when everyone is on slack.
18  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin long-term exponential trend (updated regularly) on: December 14, 2014, 03:12:04 PM
Using the last update we are now at -1.6, a new low for the current downtrend. I have a feeling we'll continue going down before we go up.

i also don't get why there is no comunication at all anymore. any news about new releases?

Sign up for Slack. News is there.

(You may have noticed that we've deprecated this thread, hence the silence here.)

Yes and further this thread won't be promoted on any social media or xc websites.

but linking one wallet that cointains at least 1k XCs to an email address is somehow counter productive in my opinon as we use a privacy centric currency

You dont need any XC to join slack, just sign up and youre good to go.

Cheers fellas, my question is now, does my wallet.dat backup become invalid after each occurrence in which my node is used?

I would say, your backup becomes incomplete each time the key-pool is enlarged AND new addresses got some coins in them.
Never checked it in code but assume the XC qt also has a key pool of 100, maybe Dan can comment on that.

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Key_pool

A discussion about this issue can be found here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1414.0

I start mine with a large --keypool parameter to be sure i got a lot of addresses prepaired and included in my backup

Youre right, the XC qt has a keypool of 100 which is a great feature that prevented me from losing a ton of coins when my hard drive crashed and I didnt have a recent backup of my wallet.dat
