1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: artforz and coblee gpu mining litecoin since the start? on: February 16, 2012, 04:22:29 PM
Unlike Bitcoin we don't want to support a protocol developed in 2009 when we have more knowledge on how a true p2p currency should work.

I'm having trouble reconciling this statement with... what ? You're on the 3rd major protocol-breaking rev of SolidCoin now since 2011 ?

Soon to be 4th.

Begs the question, if he has more knowledge of how a true p2p currency should work, why has it taken him 4 protocol revs so far, and he still hasn't gotten it right ?

Anyone who would sell off Bitcoin based on anything that happens on these forums much less the actions of a fallible admin should not be considered to having had 'faith' to begin with.

I need to respectfully disagree with you.

This community is a barometer and has potential to adjust the vector of Bitcoin.

Forum moderation of this board is still around?  Is the board just being ignored?  With recent lingering posts it seems as if civility has been thrown out the window all together... I mean seriously are we all allowed to start running around calling each other [for illustration purposes] "Gypsy goat fucking assholes who fuck their Jew mothers behind the $1 whore house" [for illustration purposes] or something?  Can those kinds of posts be wiped or censored at the very least?

These last few weeks have clearly demonstrated that forum moderation and cultivation of this community, and Bitcoin, are not priorities for the moderators.

It really has become disheartening how this place is turning to shit while management sits in their ivory towers and hides behind the cowardly shield of "we won't censor".

These are "the official" Bitcoin forums, and I'm calling out management on doing a fucking pathetic job.

Theymos needs to step down.

Wait, so Matthew, the president of bitcoin vendors association, and editor for bitcoin magazine is an ex-scammer? My faith in Bitcoin just increased tenfold!

Seriously, what the hell is wrong with you people?

Yeah, i'm quickly losing faith in this community here, and Bitcoin as a consequence.

Actually starting to think about selling my mining rigs...
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does RealSolid manipulate the vote that could make him step down? on: February 15, 2012, 09:10:23 PM
He manipulates the fundamental "value" of his project. What makes you think votes would be any more sacred ?

The amount of time elapsed since terrytibbs' conflict and the quality of his posts are not relevant: he still scammed someone in the past and has not paid them back.

Ok, so, hypothetically speaking, if I were to completely pay back TT's debt in BTC (something I'm willing to entertain), it would be grounds for removal of the "Scammer" tag ?

If I gave TT BTC for him to pay back the debt, will that remove the "Scammer" tag ?

... and, Theymos, I take it you don't consider RealSolid/CoinHunter a scammer seeing as how all the mods are notably silent in those discussion threads ?

I just can't wrap my head around the laissez-faire method of forum moderation here.

And why don't you read sum history before you exonerate someone that's plead guilty:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=54014.msg644052#msg644052

Point: Lazer. Ok, perhaps not so pathetic after all, that he is labeled a scammer.

Tough, however, to reconcile the "Scammer" label with someone so active in the community who, as best we can tell, learned from his mistakes and is now positive.

9  Other / Meta / Re: Why I have respect for terrytibbs on: February 14, 2012, 09:32:31 PM
I think it's time for the MODS to reconsider his tag and restore his status, considering what others around here have done to set the bar even further.

His, was a misunderstanding and was completely blown out of proportion.

It's pathetic how TT is labelled a Scammer, and people like RealSolid/CoinHunter are free to scam people with SolidCoin, with impunity.
10  Other / Meta / Re: [BOUNTY: 3 BTC] Permanent Removal of Coinhunter and RealSolid from the Forums. on: February 13, 2012, 04:44:19 PM
@ holodec if this guy is really a threat to bitcoin i dont want to have anything to do with it... lulz

It's not that he's a threat to Bitcoin, it's just that he's propping up his repeatedly failed ventures at our communities expense.

It's the principle of the matter.

The moderator's seeming pacifism in failing to maintain a certain level of community standards, all while hiding behind the shield of "We won't censor" is cowardly at best, and shirking your responsibilities as effective community managers.

SolidCoin is nothing more than Flooz in a modern-day re-envisioning, and considering his adversarial stance against Bitcoin with all the FUD he spreads with SolidCoin, I'm surprised you're defending his right to shit-all-over and antagonize the Bitcoin community.

Even as an ephemeral threat, I don't think we should condone or "protect" this sort of anti-Bitcoin FUD, and it seems this is what your are proposing we do.

there seems to be a lot of scared bitcoin true believers

I think you completely fail to see the forest through the trees on this one, but way to denigrate Bitcoin supporters.
12  Other / Meta / Re: [BOUNTY: 3 BTC] Permanent Removal of Coinhunter and RealSolid from the Forums. on: February 13, 2012, 02:40:03 PM
So, how about it gentlemen ? Bestow a "Scammer" tag on RealSolid / CoinHunter.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [RFC] Bestowing "Scammer" Tag on CoinHunter / Realsolid on: February 12, 2012, 08:41:40 AM
A bounty is being raised to kick them out, please contribute https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=63516.0

There is something fundamentally wrong with the state of the forums when we need to entertain the notion of raising monetary bounties to get the moderators attention.

re: your Avatar. True story. I own that CD. Lords of Acid "Pussy".

Y2K: bopping in my chair at the office, listening to the "Khan & Adams 12" mix, company CEO is bringing by a bunch of local bankers when out of my office comes blaring "Pussy pussy pussy pussy..." (pan to HolodeckJizzmopper bouncing in his chair, arms pumping in the air, mouthing the words...)

Awkward and embarrassed looks from everyone passing by my office. Me: Stone-cold "What are you looking at ?" face.

That'll teach the CEO to bring important type people where us heathen developers dwell...

This is the last straw.

He is coming here and spewing outright lies about a "competing" currency in order to prop up his repeated failing ventures.

His spreading of Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt damages Bitcoin and other projects, and is a blight on our community.

Moderators, you should be well aware of CoinHunter/Realsolids reputation on here, and it's clear as day he is not acting in the best interests of the community.

Please label him as a scammer, once and for all. His well documented price manipulation of his own currency should be reason enough.

"AGGRESSION=7"

Best I can tell, pool and local proxy is reporting accurately.
17  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 7970 mining thread on: February 09, 2012, 12:14:46 AM
What is that localproxy and how do I get one ?

https://github.com/c00w/bitHopper

CPU issues with 11.11 are irrelevant to me as my boxes are all multicore dedicated to mining.
18  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 7970 mining thread on: February 08, 2012, 08:55:07 PM
Wow, Jizz that's nuts.  Would you mind sharing your Phoenix command line options?  What driver+SDK version are you using?

Using Catalyst 11.11 on a headless Win7 box (Absolutely nothing connected to any of the video adapters)

 Phoenix 1.7.3.

 cmdline: phoenix -u <localproxy> -k phatk BFI_INT FASTLOOP=false AGGRESSION=7 DEVICE=n WORKSIZE=128 VECTORS

1.  what is gpu 1,2,3 ?

There is no GPU 1, 2 or 3. That's how the two cards (3 GPUs) show up as logical devices for me. No idea why they aren't sequentially numbered.

 Same for a 2 x 6970 + 1 5770 setup I have; the first two 6970's show us as GPU 0 and 4, and the 5770 shows up as GPU 8.

 Same for a 1 x 6970 + 1 x 6990 setup I have; 6970 shows up as GPU 0 and the 6990 shows up as GPU 4 and 9.

20  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 7970 mining thread on: February 08, 2012, 07:00:23 PM

Not sure what to say, folks.

GPU 0 is a 6970
GPU 4&5 are the 5970

Using Phoenix w/Phatk
