2  Bitcoin / Legal / Summary of Bitcoin Regulations from the Law Library of Congress on: June 25, 2014, 06:25:34 PM
I thought these were really useful high level descriptions of where a bunch of companies are in their latest bitcoin regulation talks. The page on Wikipedia was pretty good, but there were some countries missing from there that I really wanted to know about like Portugal!

Hope it's useful for anyone else trying to get a handle on what their country is thinking.

I loved this post!

I mean it was the app I helped to build but it was exciting to see someone so excited about coinforcoffee.com

...the last option is to sell stuff to get paid in BTC.

What do you mean by "sell stuff"?

Cool. Thanks for the all the tips. Yeah I'm in the US, so I guess it could be worse, but I don't have an ATM near me Sad

I guess I was looking for something more systematic than localbitcoins, like at ATM-like experience. Guess I'm just going to have to wait until one comes.
6  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Exchange Target Cards for Bitcoin at Cardforcoin.com on: June 12, 2014, 05:15:48 PM
We don't have an exact time when we'll accept Starbucks cards. There were some fraudulent bad actors that have cropped up and we are working to improve the experience so these people don't ruin the day for everyone else. Follow us @cardforcoin on Twitter for the fastest update on when we'll be up again.

Just a question, if not Target, are there other gift cards besides Starbucks you would want to exchange for bitcoin?

Cool. That makes a lot of sense.

What if I could get my money into something that wasn't fiat money? Like some easily traded commodity? I wonder if there would be a safe alternative so I could then turn that around quickly into bitcoin?

What about Gyft?
9  Economy / Trading Discussion / What's the fastest way to buy bitcoin? on: June 11, 2014, 02:03:30 PM
Like not just locking in a price and getting it later, but actually sending money and getting bitcoin back in my wallet asap. I mean I can't just keep meeting people on localbitcoins as that still takes too long to arrange meeting and what not.

Is there any service where I can just get it in like less than 30 minutes?

I use it to pay my friends when I owe them some money and also I like building apps that let me spend them in stores like Starbucks and Target and Home Depot. The cashiers have no idea and I love it Cheesy

Just submit your card number and pin number and we'll give you an offer. Accept the offer and we'll send the bitcoin right away.

12  Economy / Service Announcements / 10% off in store Starbucks purchases with Bitcoin! on: April 23, 2014, 02:58:34 PM
Yeah that's right, 10% off at Starbucks with bitcoin at http://coinforcoffee.com/bitcointalk

Hey guys,

Coin for Coffee is a mobile app that let's anyone use bitcoin at Starbucks. We think it's really cool, because now anyone can go down to their local shop and buy their morning coffee and croissant. We made it, because we think it's really important that there are more ways to use bitcoin to buy everyday items.

We launched the app only last week, and you might have seen us trying to reach out to the bitcoin community on Hacker News and Reddit:
https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=7568851
http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/230gb2/10_off_for_redditors_at_starbucks_when_you_spend/

We got some really good responses from the people there, and some really good suggestions for how to improve the service.

Now we really would like to know what you guys think of the app. So go ahead. Give it a spin, and take 10% off anything at Starbucks on us.

Just follow the link here: http://coinforcoffee.com/bitcointalk

Best,
Corbin and Matt and Chris, Coin for Coffee team
