301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: HELP! struggling to make 6 gpu R9 290 rig to run on windows 7 on: December 21, 2013, 07:39:55 PM
Hi,

Did you get to the bottom of this?

I am having exact same problem, need Windows 8 maybe? Does it work?

I have no experience at all with Linux and there are no easy step by step guides to follow Sad

If you are using 6 of any 200 series cards you have to use linux. The beta drivers you have to use for R9 cards don't support more than 4, even in windows 8. It is a driver limitation, not hardware, as 6 work perfectly fine in linux.

R9 cards won't mine on anything but the 13.11 beta drivers, it's not possible to use modified 79xx series drivers to get 6 working in windows (yet, give it time...)

Thanks for the advice Smiley

I have tried 5 in one mobo with Windows 8 and 13.12 drivers.

I can confirm that works OK.

Windows 7 only detects 4 cards, Windows 8 detects all 5 OK and mines OK too.

More than likely your Power Supply can't handle the load.  What type of PSU do you have?  If your planning on running 5 cards, you better have a few PSU's in your rig.

It is not a PSU problem it has to do with cgminer. I have tested my 2x 290x on two different boards, a UD5 with AMD chip, 1200 watt PSU and my RIVBE with intel i7 cpu with a 1500 watt PSU. If you press "q" it will reboot the computer, if you simply click the X to close the cgminer window it stops like it is supposed to.

If you plan on using 5 gpus you need to install the 13.6 drivers (I think) as they are the last of AMD drivers that support more than 4 gpus.

Thanks for the reply.

I don't think 13.6 will support the R9 290? I know that the 13.9 driver doesn't I have to use 13.11 or 13.12.

Got 4 cards working fine now, but add a 5th and windows detects a driver error and the 5th card doesn't work.

I can have 4 cards working in any of the 5 slots which should mean the PCIE slots are OK, but there is an issue with having 5 cards plugged in.

Any ideas?

I tried new drivers and doesn't seem to work.

I tried the 3rd card powered with another supply and that doesn't work as it should either.

Windows pretty much freezes as all 3 start to run, then eventually reboots.

On another note - my PSU keeps turning off. I have it shorted between green and black wire but after a few minutes it turns off. How do I get it to stay on?

The automatic payment seems broken and I'm unable to initiate manual payment due to a pending manual payment.
Can you payout my coins? Thanks.

User: 3498akdall

Hi,

I am also unable to get a payout.

I had it set to payout every 10k. It's now up to 40k and no payout.

I tried a manual one and nothing. Balance is still in pool.

You need to uninstall Catalyst Control Center completely, uninstall AMD APP SDK if you have it installed.

Google "how to completely uninstall AMD drivers manually" and follow the steps. (I don't like driver sweeer or other automated sweepers.)

Download the CCC Beta installer for R9 series cards and when you install DON'T FORGET TO RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR. I had a similar problem and that's all it ended up being...

Ok thanks, ill give that a try.

Why does removing and reinstalling seem to work I wonder?

I was going to try uninstalling 13.12 and reinstalling 13.9 and then trying the 13.11 beta drivers.

Which ones are you using?
307  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Please help!! R9 290 CGMINER on: December 19, 2013, 11:43:32 PM
Hi wondred if anyone on here had any idea what may be wrong with my R9s (Sapphire)

The plan is for 5 on one board, I have 10 in total and 2 boards.
I am waiting for powered risers to come, so only tried 3 in one board. I used 1x risers to connect all 3.

Now connecting one card works fine, connecting 2 cards to the 16x slots (with 1x risers) works fine too and boots to windows showing the bios screen and everything in between.

Adding a 3rd card makes the screen blank until it gets to Windows where it appears. It does detect all 3 cards in device manager OK.

Now with 2 cards installed I can mine with similar settings to those in these posts with about 830 KH but every time I quit CGminer I get BSOD with ati driver error. Perhaps it's the 13.12 new driver I upgraded to?

If I install the 3rd card, CGminer opens but almost as soon as it starts, Windows goes to black screen and BSOD restart.

I am at my wits end with it. Not sure what it could be other than these:
- 13.12 drivers? Maybe roll back to 13.9 but do these work with the R9 290?
- Powered riser required for 1x PCI slot and not enough power crashing the card?
- Incompatible motherboard? I am using Gigabyte Z68AP-D3 with celeron 1155 processor and 8GB ram. Although with the same motherboards i have rigs set up running 3 x 6970 and 3 x 6950.
Funnily enough one rig with 1 x 6950 and 2 x 6970 only shows the screen when it gets to windows and is blank before that.
- Maybe the wire to short the 1x PCI slot, but I am using the 1st slot which doesnt usually require that wire, and also Windows does detect it as a card.
- Maybe the R9 isnt supposed to go 3 way?

312  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NXT coin - A total scam? on: December 16, 2013, 10:01:08 PM
The market on this coin has already been cornered, so it's succeptible to market manipulation. The unknown developer could have sold the coins to himself at a high price in order to give it a high "market capitalization." He may make money off it, but the coin itself isn't going anywhere. This coin, however, is interesting in that it illustrates the absurdity in using market capitalization, monetary base, or whatever you want to call it, as a metric for crytocurrencies. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=373282.msg3993938#msg3993938

No one is using marketcap as a metric for success of Nxt, many were actually against listing on marketcap.  Furthermore, if you knew the history of the currency, you would know the developer (BCNext) isn't making $ off the coin.  Nxt is offering something very different in the crypto market, you will see this come Jan/Feb.

What's that?

Other than the 21 BTC he took from the early adopters.

Then the almost 6000 BTC the early adopters tried to sell those same coins for?

Buy you're right, NXT is definitely offering something different, all the other coins feel like a finished product, vs this buggy piece of crap that feels like a total cheap ass scam.
313  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CSC] CasinoCoin - The Premiere Coin for Online Casino Gaming | On Cryptsy! on: December 15, 2013, 12:37:42 AM
I just tried to send a transaction of 24.7 CSC with a 0.06 fee.

I got a message saying it was rejected and that the coins may have already been spent. The transaction now sits there on my wallet with a ? and a negative amount showing.

Here's my address showing incoming transactions:
http://casinocoin.mooo.com/address/CKc5xYyC5KWaYEzz8gw2prMYpcy8VdGmDw

It's odd, this line is the last one that was there before I tried to send:
c5911ef98c...   103651   2013-12-15 00:25:20   2.11304256   24.53892016   CSC

Note the balance says 24.53 yet my wallet said 24.77 at the time. Is this why the transaction rejected?

And how do I get those coins back? Are they just lost in the ether now?
314  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NXT coin - A total scam? on: December 14, 2013, 10:07:59 PM
The most embarrassing is the fact that Nxt was launched in violation of the rules announced publicly (250+ stakeholders, fundraising until January 3rd,  ect).
+1

That guy can't prove his statement by providing BCNext's quotes, but u still put "+1"? Oh, wait, you == him! U should bring more sockpuppets there. Smiley

Lol that's rich.

All this time, I have been asking for proof of these extra features of this coin and nothing yet....

Just look at what NXT offers RIGHT NOW.
- A buggy client
- A 100% premined coin
- A coin that isn't even divisible by any decimal places
- An unsecure wallet key that can be brute forced with ease (apparently only if you have never sent any NXT before which will account for 75% of the stakeholders)

Everything else that some of you think is so promising hasn't been proved, only talked about, yet you all swallow it, hook, line and sinker.  Cheesy Cheesy

And also CfB is probably == BCnext and hence why he is pushing it so hard and why he seems to have all the badly written code.

315  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NXT coin - A total scam? on: December 14, 2013, 12:21:08 PM

Many trolls and  bashers here, meaning NXT is a threath,

the more of them the more I will buy.

This was always the best strategy in my trading days, won alot of money with that approach

This is telling me that NXT is on the right track.

Because till now I se not 1 good argument from the bashers

Time to buy in.

Lol good luck with that.

Ill be sure to PM you when it's proved it's a scam and eMunie takes off Smiley

318  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NXT coin - A total scam? on: December 13, 2013, 09:02:30 PM
Problem is NXT isn't just an inflated copy coin, it's a real full on fraud coin.

It promises to be different and Bitcoin 2.0, however it is half finished garbage. There are fewer features than any other coin, it is really basic and really buggy/badly designed.

It is 100% premined and handed out to 71 select few. They are trying to sell it off for about 300x its initial cost.

If ever there was a coin that was created as a total scam to make money for the developer, this is it.
319  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Mining GDC on miningpool.co on: December 13, 2013, 08:59:12 PM
At 1380 KH according to the calculator I should be getting almost 400 per hour.

***EDIT**** NOT P2POOL LIKE I ORIGINALLY SAID, I MEANT MININGPOOL.CO

Now on miningpool.co, I have been mining for about 8 hours.

It took about an hour to even mine 1 coin.

After that I have been getting a steady stream of coins but after 8 hours I am only up to 440.

I am getting about 40-60 an hour right now.

Is this pool a scam or something?
320  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CGminer - Mining 2 pools at once on: December 13, 2013, 03:27:10 PM
Don't know if the Xfire connection will interfere, otherwise you will need to take away the cable between the cards.

Run two instances of cgminer and specify each card to a different pool,

cgminer -d 0 -o spt.pool.com ....
cgminer -d 1 -o gdc.pool.com ...

remember that cgminer removed support from gpus from version 3.8 so you must use 3.7.2 or earlier versions.

Excellent. Thank you
