101  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What I have spent my 40.5 BTC Bitlotto winnings on so far... on: September 14, 2011, 01:38:22 PM
Nice...i always wanted to spend ~250 just for food to see what it's like...15 pizzas or so would've been nice.

Oh yeah got pizza's with that too!

I didn't really have anything i needed to buy from the bitcoin world.

BIGGEST bitcoin problem right there. I see this getting better soon though

Tux has replaced the missing BTC.

oh wow.  How many BTC are we talking about here?  So can I now log in to my own account from some foreign VPN or Tor, withdraw my own bitcoins and claim I was hacked and get free BTC?  Or do I have to have one of those "staff" labels to qualify?

+1

107  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoinica is now the second largest Bitcoin Trading Platform on: September 13, 2011, 03:05:41 AM
I hate to say it but once again are people trusting their money with a service that came out of the blue three days ago? when will people ever learn. I'm not saying you are up to no good running this but there has been way too much fraud already. if people are trading money through someone who is 17 I see serious concerns. do you even have an llc or corporation setup? does anyone know your name and can verify your identity? I just can't grasp it.
108  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mt Gox Break In Part 2 on: September 13, 2011, 02:38:55 AM
so you are staff here. developer? seen it all done it all bitcoin related. and you still chose to leave your money on an exchange that was compromised before and never decided that two factor auth might be a good idea? bro... I'm sorry but c'mon. I know if they have been compromised they are the LARGER part of the problem don't get me wrong but shit. you should know better.

I also am finding this hard to believe that this is really DiabloD3d, it does not make sense, that he would issue a statement of this magnitude in this way.

This would be a major incident and it wouldn't be reported in such a short and easy way like this.

I would believe that his forum account is hacked. The hackers that did the CosbyCoin hack probably set this up in order to have some more of their fun down the road.

I find it hard to believe as well, especially since the trolls at SA stated it was wagner first, then gox right?

The "everyone clear out your accounts" was the biggest red flag of the post for me.
110  Other / Meta / Re: Info about the recent attack on: September 11, 2011, 05:37:33 PM
couple of quick questions. you did contact the authorities correct? nothing about this hack was a joke and or funny in my opinion. why were extremely old admin accounts still active? shouldn't those have an expired setting and or be deleted? manually you should have removed admin priviledges after a certain amount of time.

hardly mattered, from what i can gather from the situation, anyone could have been the first target that then got root access.

I thought they used the satoshi admin to get root?

114  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] BitcoinTrader ver2.0 for iPhone - Mt. Gox, TH, ExchB, cBX and IW support on: September 06, 2011, 02:13:21 AM
just read your readme but since it is jailbroken software how can I be sure the source code you posted is the same as what is actually compiled and on cydia?

If you know how, you could run a packet sniffer, that'd show you exactly what it's doing. Otherwise, I don't know what else I could do.

sorry bro I didnt mean to sound like an ass I'm just nervous lately with bitcoin related software. it's a shame they won't let this on the apple store

just a quick question here before I download and try. how do I know that your jailbroken iPhone app isn't phoning home and sending you my login credentials? with all the scamming lately I'm actually hesitant to try this out.
117  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tom Williams ~ The Smoking Gun(s) on: September 01, 2011, 07:23:13 PM
I was there. everyone had to introduce themselves while standing. it was very awkward but nobody skipped a beat. I guess he could have been there and used a fake name but it is unlikely. also why would he have attended? what could he possibly have gained from that?
