I appreciate that you have given us the PDF copy before the signed copies arrive but I was disappointed to see the watermarking on every page under text areas (not just on the margins).  There are clear identifiers on the left and right margins of each page that tell an ID number which is encrypted to most likely correspond to a purchaser which may have been sufficient enough.  I understand why you did the "under text" watermarking but unfortunately I had some strain while focusing on reading the PDF due to the feint blue text layering with the watermark and I'd prefer to avoid that.  Wink

Wasn't the PDF an afterthought?   Meaning, I bought the book to get the book.  I had no idea that a 'free' PDF copy would be available at the time of purchase.

Unfortunately, I didn't keep up with the thread either, else I would have opted to get the special/signed version.

Anyone want to sell me their copy not wanting to wait?   Smiley

Put it up for auction.  Smiley

i think watermark all .PDF's with the individual (forum) names would be the best way to prevent unauthorised spreading. And I would have my own watermarked copy.

Well, to prevent the spread of unauthed copies, you could watermark with the buyers full details.
This would ensure that MOST of us wouldn't even consider giving it out.
But, it would also just make someone buying it provide fake details.
So, it would not eliminate a spread.

The coin is funded.
927  Economy / Auctions / Re: [Auction] Denarium Silver Bull Coin + Denarium Brass on: April 22, 2016, 04:32:13 AM
So far this is going under what it is worth. At a minimum this is worth 1BTC + 1oz of silver!

I'm going to snipe it.  Obviously. Smiley

928  Economy / Auctions / Re: [Auction] Denarium Silver Bull Coin + Denarium Brass on: April 21, 2016, 01:34:30 AM
1BTC
929  Economy / Collectibles / Re: 1 BTC Silver Casascius coins + .5 Silver Casascius 2013 Coins on: March 26, 2016, 03:47:06 PM
I would be interested in the LOT; however, I would not be willing to pay/offer at retail individual rates.

If you come up with a realistic price, please let me know.
930  Economy / Collectibles / Re: PAPERBACK - Encyclopedia of Physical Bitcoin and Crypto-Currencies - [57/100] on: March 23, 2016, 07:09:30 PM

congrats and hopefully you sell out by then.  in the event that you dont you could possibly have a trusted member here sell them for you, or you can sit on them for a year and come back im sure there will be a buildup of demand.

congrats and wish you well on your adventure.

You could ship the books to me (for example).  You take orders and have me ship them off to the buyers.  I am guessing that you will still have access to a computer and bitcoin while you're gone.

Might be best if you could find someone in China to ship to the rest of the world since they have such very low shipping costs.  Of course they might copy the book and sell for pennies.  Smiley
931  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: Mycelium Bitcoin Wallet on: March 23, 2016, 03:21:28 PM
Channel or forum?  I believe this is the best forum for support.   IRC channel #bitcoin or #bitcoin-otc would be a good live resource.

I have only ever needed to reload account to load up the transactions; however, you can also delete mycelium from the phone and then install / restore from your master seed.  This takes some time, but also rescans and shows transactions.

There is no way to output a list from mycelium.  You can export the public key and then use pycoin to generate the public keys for as many addresses as you want.
And, if you don't have to many transactions, you could select to Sign Message with an address which gives you a list as well of the used addresses in order to sign the message.

Sorry.  I thought everyone uses mycelium to track real coins.  Thanks for the explanation.  Smiley

How does this relate to Mycelium?

Some people didn't know about this thread until it (maybe) was too late.

I only received the email from the site at:
Date: 2/24/2016 9:36:08 P.M. Pacific Standard Time

Which means, I was already 36 minutes too late in ordering.
935  Economy / Collectibles / Re: 500 BTC Casascius Bar potentially for sale on: February 15, 2016, 10:43:56 PM
Even though it is Casascius and I'm sure folks would get full proof and do an in-person trade, keep in mind that it's been a long time since his account was used regularly. Just a heads up.

He logs in often.  Even up to two days ago.  Plenty of time to respond to a thread from almost a month ago.  Meh.
936  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] 100 BTC Casascius unfunded on: February 13, 2016, 04:47:09 AM
Making a counter offer to an offer is simply good business.

I'm always open to opinions or suggestions. It will be interesting to see what the market is currently willing to pay for one of these, I might be way off base.  Smiley

Yes, I am sure it sold on the high end for the bar you know of.

I agree that it's great business.

I believe you will get what you want for the bar.  Smiley

937  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] 100 BTC Casascius unfunded on: February 13, 2016, 01:31:35 AM

You purchased them?

Several unfunded bars have sold for around 5BTC. I don't think that's an unreasonable premium for a 1 of 8 Casascius.

The most recent public sale is: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1171146.0 that sold in less than two days for 5BTC.

around 5BTC != 5BTC
Saying something was sold doesn't mean he got 5BTC.

Also, 5BTC less than 2 months ago would have been on target with my offer, but the BTC price has gone up since then.  Issue is you are comparing cash sale vs bitcoin sales now.

If you want 5BTC, then stick to your guns and get it.   Asking for 5BTC and then entertaining an offer of 3.5 is confusing.   I was offering cash like everyone else, but if BTC, I would have offered more.  (Not as much as mindtrip did though.)  Smiley

I hope you get what you want.
938  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] 100 BTC Casascius unfunded on: February 12, 2016, 11:14:58 PM
They did not sell for $1699.

Good luck.    I'm out.
939  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] 100 BTC Casascius unfunded on: February 12, 2016, 09:47:10 PM
Have there been other sales recently??

I know there were 2 on ebay a while back, but I do not think they sold.
They were priced around $2000.  Shocked

Yes, about 2+ months ago.
The ones on ebay were $1500 and $1600.   They did not sell on ebay.  Seller did sell them privately, but don't know the amount, and I did offer significantly less.  (The confusion people have is ebay drones might actually think they are funded and overbid.)

I don't understand, why would it be sold 2k$? What is the point of buying that at such a price?  Shocked

There isn't a point.  It's just a high priced piggy bank in which you might as well get a bearer bar since these say 100BTC on them.  You wouldn't want to put more or less since it indicates 100BTC, although I doubt anyone would even put any coins into it.  So, it's a piggy bank that no one would actually use.

I concur with Michail but offer 900 Smiley
I would up my offer, but honestly, that is what I offered on the ebay coins.  So, without this being an auction and can't see the bar yet, I will not offer more.  Smiley

thinking of putting a price on it, but wondering why the price bidding is lower than a bought "void" .5BTC brass coin....just dont know how to value this with not many sales.

watching for now

More void coins made than bars.   People like coins better since they can be graded (encased).  No one really wants an unfunded 100BTC bar since they nearly have to put 100BTC in it to be called funded.  Many reasons.   VOID coins were made public and fewer people know about the bars.  Problem with pricing on the bars is that only one person got them so no real public sales.  One buyer having all of one thing means they are pretty much worthless and priceless.  He is/was smart to sell off to various people as it puts value into as being obtainable.   Various other reasons.
940  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] 100 BTC Casascius unfunded on: February 12, 2016, 07:17:15 PM
$775  (Just to get in on the thread)

Of course this isn't firm and I want to see actual pictures.   I am not interested if removed from plastic, fingerprints, scratches, dings, and obviously if the sticker is removed.
