1  Economy / Gambling / Re: SwCpoker.eu | No Banking, Only Bitcoin | Bitcoin Poker 2.0 LIVE NOW! on: July 03, 2018, 04:54:40 PM
Affiliate system is being worked on today. We expect to have payments for affiliates calculated and paid soon.

BCH payments will also be calculated and paid soon.

We are very close to launching new software. We understand this process has taken a long time, but SwC Poker has to do things our way. When it happens, a new era in Bitcoin poker will begin.

Thank you to the players that have stuck with us through thick and thin.

I'm looking forward to having new software.  The current one seems to crash a lot in fantasyland on me :S.

Any hints on what's new or in store on the future one?
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: 🔶 YOLOdice's 1 Billionth Bet Celebration - LTC Competition! 🔶 on: March 12, 2018, 07:25:35 PM
Exciting last minutes!

For those interested, here was the prize pool:

Rank    Prize    EV Point
1   0.4   81.52   8152
2   0.2   40.76   4076
3   0.1   20.38   2038

I'm not sure it makes sense to calculate "EV Point" like that. Every coin that was lost during the contest went into the prize pool and back to the winners. In that sense the whole contest was +EV for the top 20 finishers - they get the losses of the people who don't finish in the top 20, as well as earning rakeback on their volume. The only reason that so many players bet more than their "EV Point" is because on average players did better than expected while playing.

Summing the wagered amounts of the top 20 we see that 42.8k was wagered, so 428 LTC should have been lost, but only ~200 was actually lost:

>>> 7909+7892+7636+4821+4821+2659+1641+945+920+876+476+318+317+265+259+242+242+202+190+188
42819

Players on average did more than twice as well as expected, so didn't need to win as much from the prize pool to be in profit. Of course there are bound to be some net winners and some net losers, but this was +EV for all the top 20 after counting rakeback.

Simply posting results on what happened based on the actual prize pool.  The EV point was actually more for me in case it provided a good opportunity to jump in at.  If players lost what they were supposed to, I probably would have tried to formulate a plan Tongue

I just checked the results and site profit has been making huuuuuge swings. It seems that JohnLocke lost ~140 LTC at some point, but recovered to +4.5 LTC. Wow. It seems like top-players are really well-funded.

@dooglus, congrats on your result so far!

It looks like this competition is getting really crazy :-)

Looks like user TiredOf catapulted into first place wagering 50 LTC each at 1.0001 and dodged the devil by not losing any of them.  Bets are flying and players running good.

What an interesting contest.

Removing actual individual results, since players won approximately 180 more LTC than they were expected to, everyone has wagered at -EV spots in the contest in what should have been a great spot for many places to get great +EV.
6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Tiger Woods coming making the come back of all come backs? on: March 11, 2018, 04:06:28 PM
I just looked at the matchup odds ( https://www.bitcoinrush.io/sportsbook/golf ) and they have Tiger Woods against Brandt Snedeker at -136 only.

I think it might be an entertaining and probably +ev bet.

I absolutely hope so.  He's similar to Allen Iverson in NBA where he was the best and most exciting player at the time and did so much for bringing people to the sport just to fizzle out.  Really hope he makes a comeback.

I don't follow golf regularly but I know some of my friends were discussing how they thought laying 80:1 against Tiger Woods winning a major in 2018 was good odds.  I thought this was kinda absurd.  Just checked now and just for the Masters, he is down to 10:1.

Can anyone explain how the pineapple client interface works ? It is a little bit confusing...
Clicking on the cards indicates where you want to put them (top row [up arrow], middle row[dash symbol], bottom row[down arrow])

Thank you. I just played some hands and it was great.

Two cons :
- Rake is very high (like very very high)
- The timebank is too short, especially in fantasy land. Players will feel uncomfortable which is a shame for such a fun game.

I hope something will be done about that.

Hi
I'll have a look at the rake and time settings for OFC. We ried to make the rake for nlhe/plo is lower than stars. OFC might need tweaked.

Also would be good to get feedback on tournament blind structure. Too fast, too bug increases?

In other, unfortunate news, we've banned 15 players so far for being caught multi-accounting in tournaments.

We will not tolerate anyone trying to gain an advantage in tournaments and if caught you will be banned. If you are caught while in a tournament you will also lose your buyin money with no refund so don't even bother.

I really want to give this poker a taste test, but not until the rake is lowered much, much more.

Also, if you've already banned 15 players whiles till in test mode, just imagine the crooks that you will be dealing with when you actually launch!

I really hope you have a security team that works around the clock, because the same scammers at Nitrogen are licking their chops for you to open.

What do you mean open? We are open. It's a good thing that we caught so many so early. Nitrogen let people like that get away with it for a very long time I'm told.

Rake won't be lowered on nlhe/plo tables. It is already lower than industry standards

I logged in to get some poker action but there isn't a single person playing...

What are you trying to play? I'm up to playing there for any medium stakes.

I suggest to put some other features in the sites. Because not all people or not all players are wants to played dice roll, some of them are enjoying spots betting, POKER and other games.

I suggest also to put recipes and knitting patterns. Because not all people are interested in gambling, some of them like cooking, KNITTING and other activities.

We're releasing an update soon and will be requiring users to change their Seed pair at some point today or tomorrow. When you place a roll it will simply allow you to set new provably fair seeds. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, it will just take a few seconds and you can get back to playing immediately. We'll be doing this once every 3 months.

We will be down for 20-30 minutes while we apply this update.

Why are you forcing a changing of the user seeds?

We took additional steps to harden PD security which are of course null without a seed rotation. We aren't setting new seeds for players, they have to do that themselves. We do this twice a year typically, will provide better notice in the future.

This is the major flaw of nonce systems which makes it NOT provably fair. In my opinion, this is magnitudes worse than non-nonce systems where users are 'vulnerable' if they do not change their client seed every round, because at least in that situation, users are still in control, whereas this situation they are not.

By not allowing users to bet nonce 'X' and beyond by something out of their control (unannounced or unexpected prevention of continued betting on current seed), users have no way of knowing that the site did not purposely prevent them from doing so, especially if they have a recognizable strategy.

A solution to this may be to enforce a hard schedule where it is quite visible and known well ahead of time, restricting continuation of betting on current seeds ONLY at these times with announcements leading up to this time.  Else, you could possibly have admins be able to announce sudden 'upgrades' or 'maintenance' periods that restrict betting and completely break provably fair.

By all means, I trust Primedice and don't think that any of this is intentional, but I think you guys (@Stunna and @Edward) need to be the leading examples, especially since Edward has been so forward about 'fake provably fair' sites.

12  Economy / Gambling / Re: Best Place To Play Poker? on: February 20, 2018, 04:43:00 AM
yeah if you want real poker action then Americascardroom is the best even if it's fiat , but lets face it all bitcoin poker rooms combined don't have 5% of the action going in ACR
coinpoker may be good in the future , but at the moment I can't see more than 40 players that register in buy in tourneys while their freerolls have over 1000 players so the action isn't that big there + you have to buy their token which may be worthless at any moment

No affilliation, but I honestly think this is the best time to play CoinPoker.  They're currently taking no rake and have several 'overlays' where extra CHP is being shoveled in.

It's incredibly +EV if you're a decent poker player, and probably even if you're just an ok player.
13  Economy / Gambling / Re: Best Place To Play Poker? on: February 18, 2018, 03:44:49 PM
Best place to play right now is CoinPoker.  Has quite the range of limits and hundreds of players on at all times so far.

America's cardroom would be second on my list.  It takes 3-5+ days usually to cashout though and you never know what bitcoin rate you're getting.

Nitrogen Sports probably third.  SWC next, but would be higher if it had more players.

BetKing is new and I haven't seen any games whatsoever, so I'm not sure why it's being recommended.  It could turn out to be good though if it picks up, but noone knows.

17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NFL game caused casinos to lose alot on: January 17, 2018, 06:26:32 PM
Did anyone bet on the vikings to win last night during the NFL playoffs?
There was something about the bookies losing alot since the Minnesota team did not score the last point which was easy to do since it was the 1 point kick after the touchdown to have them go over the 6pt spread that the casinos were offering them to win by.

They say that 65% people who had to them to win against the saints won their bets and screwed the sports bookies over.
The Vikings took a knee so was it because they saw the lines and knew that vegas and the casinos had them on winning over 6pts or not?

Sometimes I see sports games as fixed this way where they can score much more points during the game to cover the spread but do this on purpose so to A screw the bettors or B screw over the casinos.

While it was a strange coincidence that the line fell half a point short of the spread, I don't see a problem with how the Vikings handled it.  The Saints didn't even want to throw up a defense on the PAT.  Taking anything but a knee at that point would be unsportsmanlike.
18  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [AUCTION] Original Papersafe Satoshi Note #22 on: January 17, 2018, 05:58:52 PM
These early notes required 7 passes through a printer or thermal press , number machined 4 times , stickered 3 times , embossed 2 times, and programmed the NFC tag 1 time....

This series was the hardest I ever did, Each note was really a work of art.....

I still think they're the best ones so far.  It really is noticeable how much work you put into them.
19  Economy / Gambling / Re: Will Moneypot pay the promised Investors compensations on: January 15, 2018, 09:31:27 PM
edit; Having said that however, the plans remain the same to deliver debt tokens and using a percentage of income to buy through the order book with it and then burning the coins once collected.

That actually sounds more reasonable than it was made to seem. So when MoneyPot (under the new ownership) makes money, it will be buying back the debt tokens?  That seems like a fair way for it to work

More or less, yes.  Full details are being worked on, but we're trying to get it out there as soon as we can.

Leaderboard promo is cancelled due to not enough being wagered on the site and promo being +ev

You just cancelled it after we wagered and lost some money? Some of us just play because there is a competition in the back and you will just remove it? Very nice move admin. The negative feedback looks like telling the truth about you

Terms:
"BetKing reserves the right to cancel the promotion at any time or change prizes for any reason.
To qualify players must wager 0.001 BTC or more during the week or the equivilent for the LTC, ETH, BKB leaderboards.
"

I am more than glad that you had started the contest and I definitely enjoyed all my participation in it.

I understand why the contest was canceled. You had no obligation to start the contests in the first place and it could only be seen as a positive for users.  Despite this, it was not a sustainable model yet going forward.

Participants (myself included) should have known and accepted the risks into our decision to play.

The only thing I find strange is that Zupdawg deleted his post when he was leading with 24 hours left to go before the contest ended after being quite upset.  Was he paid or credited any amount?

My guess was that he read the terms, and realized that it was reasonable for them to cancel.

It's definitely possible.  Dean had the right to cancel the promotion (although starting the next week probably would have been a better choice).

Just from my experience, people usually don't go from 'I lost money and you deserve the negative trust' to deleting it and being like 'oh, I guess I'm the one who's wrong'.
