Because  Nav is actually SummerCoin and now we have September equinox Smiley

Jajajaja good one mate!
Tell that to Pakage, Sophy and Mark all living in the Southern hemisphere! For them Summer is ahead!

3 Million Market cap.... WOW that nothing.

Every Scammy Coin get this in the first 2 days of ICO...

 Grin Grin Grin Grin

Why NAV is falling?

Failing? What do you mean?
Is it because it went down in the last day? Well my friend...prices go up and down. Your skill is when to go long or short.
Contrariwise to what you think, I see NAV having very healthy indicators. Zoom out your charts...look where we were 3-4...5 month ago...
Look at the speed of development...Man, NAV hardforked a few months ago...now we have Android wallet, electrum thin wallets for osx and windows. Qt wallet for Mac.
A market cap of more than $3 million.
Top ten traded in Poloniex with great volume in the last 60 days.
Look at the Twitter followers, Twitter campaign when DEV team gave away 100k NAVs.
Also, a clear marketing strategy with articles in the most used crypto news websites.

And relaunch of Anon days away, and decentralisation of Anon, Anon from android, IOS wallet...android stake wallet...

I think that NAV is doing very very well..
Otherwise you wouldn't be here!

Salud!

Hi Nav Coiners,

It's time for the weekly update again! First, if you're new here or if you haven't been keeping up with the solid stream of development we've been doing over the last couple of months, please have a look at the great Nav Coin Monthly Digest that Sophia and Mark have put together.

Navs Coin’s accelerating technological growth

It’s been a busy few months for Nav Coin. Let’s grab a cup of tea and take a sum of our latest technological advancements.

http://www.navcoin.org/news/articles/post/navs-coins-accelerating-technological-growth

In other news, we have been making great progress with the Anonymous Network. We have successfully sent tests through the live network! To celebrate I have put together a live demo of me sending some Nav Coin through the anonymous network for you to check out!

Nav Coin's Navtech Anonymous Transaction Demo

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hhb2fVfhYZM

We are working hard towards the relaunch of the anonymous system and it is our top priority right now. I have cut back my work hours to 3 days per week so I can focus on delivering it as soon as is safe and practical. Please be advised that testing is a tricky process and we will not re-launch the network until we are fully satisfied that it can process without even the smallest of problems. We are undertaking exhaustive testing measures during this time. We take protecting your privacy seriously and want to make sure that our system is flawless!

Soopy and the gang have been busy both supporting the anon network testing and working on their own projects also. The web wallet and raspberry pi staking unit are nearing completion. We have also added a few new projects to the in progress list that I'm sure you'll love. Including bringing Nav Coin anon to Android!!!!

Quote from: Nav Coin
Android Anon Send and Staking Wallet

We are building a full node wallet for Android. This wallet is based on the QT version of the full node wallet and will be able to stake NAV and send Anonymous Transactions from your mobile!

Mobile iOS Wallet

We are building an iOS wallet for Nav Coin. Users will be able to send and receive NAV using the iOS device of their choice. This wallet will run using the same Electrum server as the Android wallet.

Android and iOS Nav Tickers

We will be releasing Nav price tickers for Android and iOS so you can check the value of your investment on the move.

To see their progress, please head over to our projects page: http://navcoin.org/projects

To say that we are busy is an understatement. We have so many exciting projects in the pipeline and with the anonymous relaunch just around the corner we are firing on all cylinders! I can't wait to see what happens next. I am blown away by our teams efforts every week!

Stay tuned for the next episode!

Craig.

how would you use nav to purchase services or items if you cant tell who the transaction came from?

For me it seems if NAV was only pumped. Look at the Volume of the Last day.

Mate I have seen your posts on decent ICO and I know this is really bad to perhaps loose so much money! we all had these experiences. But our volume is stable since few days. We as devs definetly do not pump and dump! We are here for more than 2 years now and deliver what we promised.

I guess you are trying to get back your money, of course you do, but there is no magic that can make you rich in one night!

regards
shahim

I lost money on decent ICO???
The decent Ico is at this time going on i lost no money.

I wanted my money back from the decent ico because i think it was unfair to change the rules of the ICO after the start of the ICO.
First only 2000BTX should get a 50% Bonus and now mor than 3900BTC get it.

That was unfair in my eyes and therefore i wanted a refund of my money.

No we have managed it with the DEVS so my BTC are still on the ICO.

Sry but my opinion is really that NAV was pumped.
Not by the DEV Team, but by big Whales i think.

Look at your Volume at this time. Nothing. Some Scamcoins have a higher Volume as NAV at this moment.
I think really NAV will loose quiet a lot of Value until the next Pump will come.

Normally the Price of a interesting coin will explode if such good news will come like on the Nav Thread.
But nothing, nobody is intrested in it.

No volume? 250 BTC in last 24 have
I think you bought over 10k SATs and now you sound a bit desperate.
Don't worry mate...NAV community will never leave you alone...we have been here since the beginning and trust me...NAV abides....

Just a quick question is there a light wallet for NAV coin, besides mobile? And if not, why? Downloading the whole blockchain takes forever.

In the next few days the DEV team will delivering a Thin wallet.

Just keep checking this thread!

Have a nice weekend!
347  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★[ANN] [NAV] NAV COIN - ANONYMOUS TECH. ● ANDROID WALLET LIVE ● NAV 2.1 SOON on: September 09, 2016, 12:02:14 PM
We are using a different system, using a Subchain to transport sending information from one node to a random other node. Using this we break the information on the nav blockchain. There is no transaction between you amd receiver, which can be traced, since the recipient do not get the coins you did send.
The working principles of these anon coins are really confusing. Sometimes I wonder whether these principles actually really work. For example, when you just do a mixing like Dash ... then you mix 3 transactions. But if I send 9.34313 Dash via a Masternode to B, then B will receive exactly 9.34313 Dash. How big are the odds that around that time someone else also sends this exact amount of Dash ? So it makes the mixing a useless operation. Or did I misunderstand something ?

Monero has a more complex scheme. I don't know the details for sure, but I remember it had something to do with a bunch of addresses that are generated and your money will be send in pieces over all those addresses and then from those addresses it will be send to the receiver. Take the encryption away, and then I still think you can find out who send the coins. If B receives 2.7 XMR from a 10 addresses ... then you know that this sum probably comes from the same source addresses. So if you trace back, you can easily find who sent the coins. Fortunately for XMR it uses encryption. And that's where its value can be found. Again ... did I misunderstand something ?

NAV uses a subchain. But if you take away the encryption then it is again possible to trace back who sent the coins. The decoupling via the subchain doesn't help much. You know that at 16.00 h 9.35 NAV has been sent to the subchain and that at 16.01 h someone received 9.35 NAV. So not difficult to trace back. But the strength lies in the encryption. So nobody can see how much you sent, which makes it impossible to trace back who sent the coins.

I openly admit I know nothing about these cryptostuff ... but following my logic I don't see why there is this mixing and subchain. At this moment with my limited knowledge, these things look rather useless. The strength comes only from the encryption schemes. Please, if I am not right, correct me. I am always happy to learn something. These anon coins are interesting  Smiley

Dear Diago,

Thank you very much for your kind questions, let me answer them one by one.

NAV ANON is in no way associated with DASH technology or masternode systems. It currently uses a Gateway to channel through particular transaction , this transaction information is encrypted and channeled through a subchain , where the transaction is then processed and directed to the destination address where the transaction arrives at the destination address in clusters. And there is in no way mixing used in the process where transactions are mixed to obtain an untraceable advantage. For the fact that our model itself is untraceable.

Double encryption is used in the channeling and throughout the entire process.

1. No-mixing - Due to the fact that the model of channeling doesn't require such process.

2. Untraceable - Due to the fact that there won't ever be 1 transaction of the same kind anywhere on the network.

Please do let me know , if you need further clarifications.

Warm Regards,
~SoopY~

Hello soopy,

I really tried in good faith. But it seems you people try to avoid a clear explanations how your system will work.
I read your "whitepaper" which is a graphical illustration at best (it looked like someone watched to much stargate the series). We neither see code, maths or talking about possible attack vectors etc. Pp.

I will just wait for your new "whitepaper" or a clear explaination until then i would say be careful to not be a future bagholder.

Also what is this claim about a fast/instamine?

Hi mate. I won't talk about the technicalities of NAV's Anon.
But what I can tell you is that NAV wasn't pre mined or instamined or anything like that.
NAV evolved from Summercoin (it changed name!)
It was a X13 POW and then went to POS.
I mined it back in July 2014 (I remember coz the bloody world cup)

Anyways...all the info is online...Google it!

PS: For your lovely information , there was never a premine for  NavCoin. #talkwithfacts.[/b]
So it is not premined ? Do you know Adam Meister, this guy with his Bitcoin channel ? He told me in the comments that NAV is premined. So he is wrong ?

EDIT: I think I know why he thinks it is premined. Look on coinmarketcap

http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/nav-coin/

It doesn't say it is mineable. If you look at Bitcoin, then it is indicated that it is mineable.

http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/

TIME TO COMPLAIN to COINMARKETCAP Huh? !!!!

Mate,

NAVcoin evolved from NAVAJOCOIN and that evolved from Summercoin.

NONE of those coins were pre-mined. I have the privilege of having mined Summercoin back in 2014.

NAVcoin is in POS stage since Summercoin.

The list on the rich list are real investors that put money and mining power when this project was in diapers. And if you look constantly you will find that that list doesn't change much.

NAV is a genuine coin with a very supportive community and dedicated DEV team.

Salud!

Aguante Boca!

I am a long term investor in NAV. I didn't know about Shadow. I fully support anon movement. I think we all share the same view.
Now that NAV is growing so strongly I moved some of my profits into SDC.

Easy kids. Both coins can coexist peacefully. Actually When SDC brings their market...I think you should allow other anon coins there! We have the same vision mate!

The hardest thing is to resist selling at this price point.
Historically this is a very high price for NAV, so it seems the base price really has increased a lot since a few months ago.

Old timer! I 100% agree...but we as old supporters need to be the most conservatives in dumping. So far we have made 1000% return, but the possibilities of NAV are great! Just look at the charts in polo.
1 mth 30 mins is so healthy man! So many spikes...then return, then other spike!

I am holding. Just selling my stake earns. and Buying back.

What I see as a very healthy indicator about NAV is the lack of trolls and fudders! They have left! NAV just shut them off.

And remember: Web wallet, Thin wallet, decentralisation, raspberry pi...

Did someone say they got the NAV wallet working on a mac with wine?

I have tried but i just can't get it to work.

Any idiot proof instructions?

GO NAV!

I downloaded an emulator of Windows (I think it's XP) called Wine.
The main folders of Wine are installed under: Users/(your user name)/ Wine Files

What I did is download windows wallet and blockchain and then move the NavCoin Wallet into:

Users/(your user name)/ Wine Files/ drive_c/users (your user name)/ Desktop.

After doing this is time to get into the Wine app
Double click in the app and you will see a little icon of a wine glass on the top right of your OSX screen (where the wifi symbol, time, bluetooth icons are)
Click in the Wine glass and go to File Manager...
That will open the windows explorer. Locate the drive C:/ and go to the Desktop on where you placed the Navajo folder.

From there just double click in the navcoin-qt.exe
It will crash the wallet but create the navcoin folder under:

Users/(your user name)/ Wine Files/ drive_c/users (your user name)/ Application Data

Go back into your OSX finder and locate this folder...
In this Navcoin folder is where you want to place the wallet.dat file and the whole blockchain

Remember!!! always back up your wallet.dat file!!!! ALWAYS!

https://www.dropbox.com/s/s9f45n0ryqms33z/Screen%20Shot%202014-11-09%20at%2016.28.52.png?dl=0

I wrote that a while ago, but the process is the same...You can download the 1 click installer...And the blockchain as well...

Good luck!

also can you people give me your github?
the one in the OP https://github.com/navcoindev/navcoin2 seems not to be the correct one? the last update is more then 1 month ago while the hype in the polo trollbox says that you just got several updates in the last week?

also i would really like to know what this "tor-node" update is?

can you just use the wallet over Tor now or what?
Nav Coin TOR Network

Dear NAV Community

We are pleased to announce that user BitcoinFX has been so kind as to setup some dedicated TOR nodes for Nav Coin.

If you're unsure what TOR is, please head over to their website to learn all about their great service: https://www.torproject.org/about/overview.html.en

In basic terms, the TOR network is robust method of hiding your IP address from unwanted third parties.

Currently Nav Coin is secure, but just like any other Crypto Currencies because it is a public network, it is possible for third parties to see which IP addresses are connected at any given time. This does mean users lose an amount of anonymity because with some effort, it could be possible to trace a transaction back to an IP address and potentially infer who owns a wallet, or at least where they were broadcasting from.

Connecting your Nav Coin wallet through the TOR network, hides your IP address from the public record and stops this meta data inference from occuring. With this configuration you would be syncing the block chain, sending and receiving coins all through the TOR network rather than over the regular internet.

If you want to give it a try, first thing to do is to download and install TOR Browser

Once installed, open the TOR browser and allow it to connect to the TOR network.

Go to you Nav Coin config file which is located in %AppData%/navcoin2/navcoin.conf and add the following settings:

Code:
listen=0
port=8443
proxy=127.0.0.1:9150
onion=127.0.0.1:9150
onlynet=tor
maxconnections=8
addnode=navfxoktwa7zu3m2.onion:8443
addnode=navfx2yawr6eb4fp.onion:8443
addnode=navfxfkchwclvpbj.onion:8443
addnode=navfxujp7ninsup6.onion:8443
addnode=navcavlevqgjzozx.onion:8443
addnode=navcaqr6y4yfvei4.onion:8443
addnode=navcavq6roeray7h.onion:8443
addnode=navcajegwg62zecy.onion:8443
addnode=navfxkdrgk2oo3ja.onion:8443
addnode=navfxu6w2iptaj3m.onion:8443
addnode=navfxjtmt42smvcj.onion:8443
addnode=navfxosoed7hd4db.onion:8443

Save the navcoin.conf file and restart or open your Nav Coin wallet. You should now see in the bottom right corner of the status bar it now says TOR, indicating you're connected to the TOR network!

You can now continue to use the wallet as per normal with the knowledge that your IP address is hidden from public view. Simple as that!

Some extra notes from BitcoinFX:

It is advisable to add regular IP addnodes at the base of this .conf for 'failover', which will enable your client to also exit connections via Tor.

hidden_service connections (.onion) never leave the Tor network.

Remember that less connections are preferable over more connections, in terms of anonymity and privacy. 6 to 8 connections are probably optimal for broadcasting transactions.

Port 8443 has been selected as it is a common Tor Exit port - see: https://trac.torproject.org/projects/tor/wiki/doc/ReducedExitPolicy - whereas the 'default' Navcoin port 44440 is not.

This really is a great service the BitcoinFX has setup for us all to use. It provides an extremely high level of anonymity even when just performing regular Nav Coin transactions.

Please be so kind as to donate to BitcoinFX to help keep this service running: NWeyG7jpQm1wWeYeV7tnNuYLUHmW4FMAr8

It's users like BitcoinFX who make these communities great.

Warmest regards,
The Nav Team

Hi everyone. I have a question regarding NAV Coin. I read the whitepapers of both NAV Coin and DASH, but I don't seem to figure out what is the difference between both. They are both doin anonymous transactions based on mixing. At least that is my interpretation of it. Did I miss out on something important ? If so, could someone please explain this to me ? And if there is a difference, then it might be a good idea to put it on the website and even to publish this comparison on crypto site and make a youtube video about it so people are aware of it.

NAV is TRUE and 100% anonymity,  DASH not  Smiley

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I heard about this. But I want to know why. Why is NAV 100 % anonymous and DASH not ? I am not asking this question to be anti-NAV. If NAV reaches the level of DASH I will jump through my roof out of pure joy because I bought some decent amount of NAV last week. But I am not able to understand why NAV is more anonymous than DASH so if someone could explain this to me, I would be extremely thankful :-)

Jugelio got it right.

The main point of difference is that our system uses 2 block chains, which permanently disconnects the transactions and makes it impossible to prove beyond reasonable doubt that User A sent coins to User B. As far as I understand, Dash uses a single block chain and essentially just mixes the coins through their system prior to you sending them which given enough time and effort can be untangled or relies on insecure architecture such as SQL databases. We also encrypt the destination address from inside your wallet and then re-encrypt it before sending it to the outgoing server via the sub-chain to further break the connection between sender and receiver. Your intended destination is never broadcast from your computer, not even via HTTPS, only ever as an encrypted argument attached to your transaction to our sever on the block chain.

Also, have you actually tried to use Dash for anonymous sending? From my testing their coin mixing protocol doesn't even work. I had my wallet open for 3 weeks trying to successfully mix just 14 DASH into "DRK" or whatever they call it and it failed every time.

Our system doesn't require any pre-mxing of coins. You just tick the "Send NAV Anonymously" box and it sends your regular NAV through our Anonymous Transaction Network instantly. Transactions are received within 5 minutes of sending. Transactions are broadcast from incoming to outgoing servers via a separate block chain (nav sub chain) and not managed by something exploitable and centralised like MySQL.

I am working towards finishing the new Anonymous Transaction Network scripts over this weekend which will enable us to bring the system back online and closer to being able to decentralise the system. More to be revealed in my weekly update on Monday once I have more info for the progress report.

Continuing with the Anon differences of NAV vs other Anon coins,

I just found this article about hyper hyped XMR (Monero)

http://motherboard.vice.com/read/monero-cryptocurrency-dark-net-drug-dealers-hope-more-anonymous-than-bitcoin-alphabay
