I am working on a coin that gives the same rewards to all the miners, so it wont be attractive to any of the big farm guys. I will probably have to enforce a limit of one account per IP address though, so somebody who can get a bunch of IP addresses would be able to mine more.

Would that be OK?

James

P.S. There wont be any presale, just a few percent (combined) of mined output to founder, pool fee, bounties and donation. Nobody will have a large amount of coins

You can make it cpu only, very small memory and maybe cpu usage too and you can call it botnet coin.
I still think that the big guys mining HVC are botnets too.
There are some guys with access to 5000+ servers, I think from some universities in China. The reality is that people with more tech will be able to mine more coins, short of requiring solving captchas for each share submitted.

Somehow I think that would make mining too much of a chore

James

P.S. One twist I havent mentioned is that in order to mine the coin, you will need to have a NXT acct and NXT API running on the computer you are mining. Unless the botnet guys can somehow install NXT onto all their victim's computer I dont see how this will be a botnet coin

Imagine if this man with access to 5000+ servers need to make a account for every XXX hash and to change his ip, email and login details on every account? Will be a nightmare. And if he do this successful without to be catched then he deserve his coins Smiley But if admin catch him will lost all coins.

Nobody will mine if need to solving captcha for each share. You will?

If limit the hash of a core not will have a chance. 5000+ it sill will be 5000+ more than my 3 cores.

At the present price, is it profitable to mine it?

nope

How secure are you? wheres the company info page? are you a legal entity?

All I see is a site that was thrown up a while back and and puts liability onto the users.

There is no form of protection for a user when you have 0 company info listed, you could gox people easy you could have what happened to poloniex. Show your accountability and maybe I would trade over there otherwise  your site is just a giant gamble, and while I am sure seedy people may use it based on the lack on info needed to to transfer USD.

So you may have it but I think you just cater to money launders.

They are legit.

Who say so?

the url to windows wallet soft is the last version that work with relaunch?
Yes. This is the new Appcoin client download link:
https://mega.co.nz/#!doxgiY4Z!ygFg02f-EAUJfmPIvxZYZtmDZUVpS-Yc4GhebkfdhFI

Old Appcoin clients (1.0.3 etc) are for no use anymore and can therefore be deleted/archived. Remember to remove the Appcoin-folder from the %appdata%/roaming-directory before you launch the new client!

thanks

nobody needs to, just like u dont need to mine bitcoin or litecoin. its just a very popular coin
doesnt mean you have to bother it mate

You can't compare it with bitcoin or litecoin.

Heavycoin was a good before to the launch. Then we see how much the owner care for it's own coin. Sorry but it is not a right to get 170+BTC and not care to have all things works at the launch. Have so much owners that not make a profit of 170+BTC and care for their coins. For only 1 btc he can hire some developer that make things works.

You hear some ppl that pay for their coins still not receive them.

So how exactly much popular is this coin? And compare with btc and ltc is not on a place.

WHEN DO WE GET OUR IPO COINS?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

why you ask me?

I am wonder we really need to bother and mine this coin?
235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [HVC] Heavycoin - CPU-only, Ultra-secure, Decentralized Voting on: March 09, 2014, 10:10:51 AM
My server 2xXeon 5650 (six-core), total 24cpu (whis HT) - 0.26mhz...

I have the same: 28 cores in total = 0.28 mHz.

so 473mhs~  47300 cores!  WTF !

 Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh

I have 3 pc's = total 8 cores = 0.17 mHz
and this is old pc's with old cpu's.

something is not right with this coin or maybe with the miner...
236  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [HVC] Heavycoin - CPU-only, Ultra-secure, Decentralized Voting on: March 09, 2014, 09:37:41 AM
Strange.
My CPU mine with 200KH QubitCoin and with only 47KH HeavyCoin...
Anyone can explain this?
237  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [HVC] Heavycoin - CPU-only, Ultra-secure, Decentralized Voting on: March 08, 2014, 08:04:52 PM
Next:     742HVC  (averaged 292 votes)

Vote lower people...  and sit on your hands too...  SERIOUSLY!    Cool
Voting 1

A low vote means that the IPO investors will make more profit and the miner less.

No... Just no!
My vote is 1024.

It is obvious that you have NOT realized that miners will soon own more HVC than the IPO investors.

Then we will vote for 1. But lets first get more coins
238  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [HVC] Heavycoin - CPU-only, Ultra-secure, Decentralized Voting on: March 08, 2014, 04:00:56 PM
Got my nodes working. Now what are we voting at. I have it set to default @ 512.

we... miners vote for 1024 to get more coins.

they... investors vote for 512 to make their coins more value and not give us a chance to get our piece from all this. If it is hard for us to make a coins from mining then the investors that buy around 30k for 1btc will make their coins more value.

So you think from what part you are...

Solo is fuckin hopeless unless you have lots of cpu's

and if you have a lots of cpu's how will connect them to mine one block?
