4  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Where you guys think is the best place to buy Bitcoins using Debit, Credit card on: April 04, 2021, 10:14:30 PM
is there anyone has the better website to buy bitcoins??? instantly is the best

you have to see that the good site is something relative, relative in the sense that it has sites with high rates but faster in the transaction and there are sites slow in the transaction but with lower rates.

in case you need a fast site I recommend you:

coinmama.com

but it has a bit high fees compared to other sites, but they are very fast when executing bitcoin purchases using visa or mastercard

note:

I used this site a lot a year ago, so I don't know if they still have that good performance they had

you will also have to have a verified account

https://www.coinmama.com/faq

Yes, they do have 5% in fees for buying with Credit Card.

I used CEX to buy with my Credit Card and I had no problem but I think if you have large amount of money to buy crypto with Credit Card the fee is a little bit too high 3%.

Anyone else knows a place where you can buy cryptos with low fees?
6  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Buying cryptocurrencies with Payoneer card? on: March 26, 2021, 12:05:57 AM
Heard about p2p exhanges, do you guys have any idea how can use one of these platforms to buy crypto? Are they safe, how they work?
7  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: $20K to invest in coins - Where to start? on: March 25, 2021, 11:12:15 PM
Wooo!!

Surprised by these answers! You guys rock!

I took my laptop and opened this topic in front of my friend and we both read carefully each reply here and at least we know where to start. I know crypto world is about staying updated with the latest trends but also learning different aspects of it such as trading and holding them for x amount of time.

I spent a consideration time watching Youtube Videos/Documentaries, Although most of them are very confusing and I had to stop them just because I got lost but I learned few things at the moment the process for me looks like this:

In order to start investing you should open an account in any big CryptoCurrency Exchange after doing that you have to deposit x amount and convert them to BTC/ETH the next step will be opening an wallet to store the coins.

I saw here a lot of answers that replicated that I should strongly tell him about the risky part of losing everything and I can't argue on that because you guys are totally right but sometimes not knowing the risks is actually a good thing because you might end up winning lol jk

I definitely need to read more and this forum I think is the best way to do that, which thread is a MUST Here, any suggestion?

However we still have questions like:

- Which Exchange to use and is it risky to deposit all the money through VISA card?
- Which Wallet is a secure one. (I heard the hardware one is the most secure but for the beginning we can use an online one)
- Everyone on youtube is suggesting the ETH because of the advanced blockchain technology and it is going to be the currency of the future in contrast to the replies here where everyone is suggesting BTC, any thoughts on this?
- What about PolkaDot and Cardano?

I couldn't be more thankful for your time guys.

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the answers I really appreciate.

I tried buying on Binance with Payoneer and it didn't work. It seems that you cannot do that except the method that @BitMaxz described which is what many people used that after my research.

And yeah, didn't know that you actually risk the Payoneer account if you try to do this, not trying it until I find the right method.

Thanks for the links guys.

Hello guys,

I was trying to figure out how to buy cryptocurrencies with Payoneer card? Which exchange does accept Payoneer MasterCards? I was trying to link to the CEX but it didn't work. I heard same thing for Binance.

Anyone had experience buying crypto with Payoneer?

Thanks
10  Other / Beginners & Help / $20K to invest in coins - Where to start? on: March 22, 2021, 10:48:56 PM
Hello there,

My friend is going all in with crypto world but he hasn't any clue about crypto world but with all the hype going right now it's not impossible to convince him that if you don't have enough experience and don't do enough research you cannot go into crypto world because the risk is just too high.

I am relatively new to the crypto world and I don't have the right expertise to suggest him where to start, I told him that people are focusing their investments on specific projects but didn't suggest him a specific one.

I made a thread here weeks ago and I was surprised with all the help I got so I figured out that this forum will be the ideal place for this question.

If you would have $20k to invest in crypto, what would you do?

I appreciate your time.

Thanks

I did sent the user ID but still nothing.

In their support system they pretend that answer could take up to 10 days but in my case it’s been more than 3 weeks.

Still nothing

Hello guys,

I just wanted to update the thread about my issue. Still haven't heard back from CEX it has been more than 9 days since I contacted the support and no answer till now.

Definitely they do have poor support system. It makes no sense at all.

Waiting...
They will definitely ask a full copy of personal documents before processing your request. Cex.io has been a well-known crypto exchange for Ukraine-based crypto companies but they have slow support after the increasing popularity of crypto investment. No worries, the support team will reset the 2FA even if you have no access to the lost phone number/email/authentication app.

The best solution is to maintain a notebook to write you all the accounts credentials including Google Authentication codes and keep it always under you.
An even better option is to use a 2FA app such as Aegis, which allows you to export an encrypted database of all your shared secrets, which you could store on an offline medium such as a USB drive. Then, if you lose your phone and you need to recover your 2FA codes, it's as easy as downloading the app on your new phone and importing the back up.

I absolutely wouldn't recommend Authy. It is closed source. Your 2FA codes are stored in their servers. They collect a lot of information about you, including device information, email address, phone number, IP address, location, log in history, and more. If you lose access to your account, they require full KYC with copies of your ID to recover your account. This is an unnecessary security and privacy risk, for something you can do safely yourself as described above.
Damn I really used to think Authy is a goat of a 2FA app, especially after finding out how bad GA was after I lost one of the 2FA keys. Welp, I am wrong as it seems.

Btw, this aegis, I have never heard about it up until now. I looked it up right now and the reviews seem great thus far. I will check it out, thanks!

Dude you should make a thread of all useful/privacy friendly crypto-services cause I assure you dumbasses like me don't know a lot about it.
I also didn't know about the recovery process but not going to change the default 2FA app to another one. Authy has done an amazing job after losing access to the old Google Authenticator app which contained more than 30 private 2fa keys to online accounts. I am ready to share documents if the Authy team asks this for security reasons and proving identity by asking few questions.

I have already sent them my personal information (ID, Address). Still nothing.

Thank you to you all for your readiness to help me. I never thought that here I could find a lot of people that will actually try to help you.

Update: I received a reply from CEX account here telling me that I have to wait for my queue since there are a lot of requests especially during these times since everybody is into it.

I still cannot access the account but I hope my turn will come soon.

I will update the thread often so I anyone how will have the same issue as me, should definitely find this helpful.

For sure this topic has convinced me to be more active on the forum and spread my knowledge here.

Yeah, I find it very strange why a company like Cex is so slow at their support system. I mean each company is trying to get the majority of users and things like these might change your mind to go elsewhere.
This is by no means unique to cex.io. Pretty much every crypto exchange in existence has problems with poor customer support. It is particularly bad at the moment due to the bull run, increased volume which means increased problems and issues, and them having to process thousands of new accounts. This is what you have to put up with when you use any centralized exchange which takes custody of your coins.

I contacted them through both e-mails, twitter dm's, reddit messages and recently here on their DM.
All you can do now then is to wait. In the meantime, download an open source 2FA app which allows full encrypted back ups so this doesn't happen again.

I have had this problem several times and even changed it to 2Fa via sms which I also had the same problem
SMS is a very insecure method of 2FA and should be avoided where possible.

Yeah there is nothing else to do besides waiting. But this is very scary as I think my email will go unchecked and probably they will never reply.

Anyway, I will update this thread with what happens, maybe there is someone like me and this could be helpful to them.

Have anyone experienced the same issue?

I have had this problem several times and even changed it to 2Fa via sms which I also had the same problem and several times I have already asked support to disable my 2Fa and I am surprised that you have said that they are taking too long to solve your problem because they have always been very quick to respond and solve the problem. i use cex.io for more than 2 years. this is very strange

Can someone help me please, how to be in touch with them?

he has an account here at bitcointalk Send PM:

Aside from those links above, you can also sent into these contact details too.

Support phone number:
+44 20 3966 1272

Email for complaints:
complaint@cex.io

or via facebook: https://www.facebook.com/CEX.IO/

I have contacted them on this e-mail but no response yet. They even deleted the support@cex.io email Sad

But, recently I have switched to a new phone and eventually I lost my 2FA Google Authenticator Backup code and I am not able to log in into my account anymore.

This is a terrible problem with Google Authenticator. If you lose your phone, it is over and there is nothing you can do.

The best thing is to use an alternative com Google Authenticator. You can use  Authy app. This is a very nice software, which let you save all your 2FA codes in your account.

Authy has an option to prohibit the registration of new devices. So if someone steals your Authy password, they can not add an additional device, unless if an authorized device allows the registration of new devices to your account.

I made a post about it here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3178131.0

I think you should consider using Authy in your  new phone.

Definitely, I would be definitely move out Google and use your suggestion but right now the priority is to get back the Cex account Sad
