guys, im confused, is there a fee for PPS on this pool or not ?

Is anyone else seeing they worker speeds in their account be much lower than their miners are actually generating ?

one of my miners in BAMT is hitting 1500mh/s whilst the speed of it under My Account is more like 1100mh/s. Flicked over to my backup pool and its straight on at 1500mh/s.

thanks

fixed.

BIOS update did the trick Smiley
284  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / BAMT no desktop.... on: April 22, 2012, 12:48:02 PM
Hi guys, really need some help here. Currently I've been mining with my rigs on Windows Vista, but I'm looking to use BAMT from now on.

I've got a MSI 80A-G54 mobo which is on the compatability list.

I have imaged an 8gb pendrive (tried 2) and I can boot off the USB stick and see the first BAMT menu. But when I choose Boot the BAMT, all I get is a black screen.

I've got 2 5970's in this rig, 1KW PSU, no HDDs or CD-ROM drives attached.

Tried with just one card, still no luck. Monitor signal stays on, but there's nothing on the screen.

Any help ?

Thanks !

EDIT: Just tried in failsafe mode, here's the where it just sits:

thanks for the replies - I'll look into the 990FXA-GD65. Looks good.

Didn't really want to be messing around with cutting risers and stuff, just want to plug and play so maybe some 1-16x risers are on the agenda.

anyone had any experience with this board ?

Looking to get 5 pci-e 16x extenders for it and have a couple of questions....

Does it support more than 4 GPUs?
If I connect up the onboard molex connector, I shouldn't need powered risers, right ?

Thanks !!

are you sure you're selecting the other core in GUIminer ? sounds like you've create 2 tabs but they're both using the same core. You should see 2 devices under the device list, make sure each tab is using the different device from the other tab,

might be worth trying to uninstall the drivers and using drivercleaner then re-installing a different version.

I've BSOD under load on a few of my rigs and it always turned out to be driver/software related not hardware.

I'm sure your 5970 is fine Smiley

I dont think you need the dummy plug for the 5970. In GUIMiner, have you select the different in each tab ?

One should read
  • and the other tab [1]

I have feeling you're using the same core on both tabs

I thought XP 32-bit can only handle 2 graphics cards ?

pull the 5870 and see if both cores on the 5970 go full speed ?
291  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Does anyone have 1st hand experience in crossfiring a 58xx card with a 69xx? on: April 17, 2012, 07:26:25 PM
as above, you can't.

But, you don't need to for mining Smiley
292  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB][UK] - 2 5970s ~1200w PSU on: April 15, 2012, 07:16:05 PM
Thanks, I'm currently running 5 5870s off a Fractal 1kw PSU with no issues so a 750w should handle 2 5970s. Just wanted to get the feelers out for a more powerful one for when other cards arrive Smiley

293  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTB][UK] - 2 5970s ~1200w PSU on: April 15, 2012, 03:52:27 PM
I am building up another mining rig, I already have one 5970 in an ATX case mining away,  but will be building a wooden frame with pci-e risers so that I can add more cards

So, I'm looking to buy another 2 5970s, maybe not both straight away, just 1 to start with, but also a 1200w PSU or a PSU of around 850w seeing as I'm already using a 750w so I'll just chain 2 together.

I only have eBay feedback here - http://feedback.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=olly_k&ftab=AllFeedback

Would prefer to buy in the UK but wouldn't mind from elsewhere if the shipping is right.

Looking to pay around £300 per card.

I also have a 6950 that I got as as an RMA replacement for a 5870 that went bad, I could trade that too as it doesn't play very nice with my 5 series GPUs

Thanks !

Because of the subject line, I had initially thought that this thread would be a complaint about trying to build a mining rig with a raging erection. How it might get in the way, knock things over, etc.

It's not a problem, just keep it away from the fans Cheesy

been playing with my miners today, noticed that my worker mh/s isn't working but the miner is getting shares.

Could this be an issue on my side ?

Thanks
297  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 5970 temps, clocks and voltages on: February 16, 2012, 06:14:32 PM
no, i'll replace the 5970 with a 7950 if it ever fails
298  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 5970 temps, clocks and voltages on: February 16, 2012, 05:08:09 PM
well, I'm having a hard time controlling the fan. It's an XFX model and I've updated the BIOS which does allow fan control but it's pretty hit and miss. MSI Afterburner and CCC and even CGMiner can control the fan by %, but whatever I set it to, GPU Z still shows the fan at 30% and RPM 4500.

I do have a spare stock cooler for it so if it dies I'll just replace the cooler.

Probably wont be buying another one and I'll just get a 7950

850 @ 1.1v - ~400m/hash per gpu on CGMiner. Fan 100% Smiley temps 72
