1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MINT] Mintcoin - New Wallet v2.0.1.0 - CPU & Bandwidth Optimization on: October 27, 2015, 02:42:59 AM
I created a Countdown Timer here...
http://www.arewethere.yt/MINTCOIN/30183.htm

So does this mean MINT is going to become even more "pumpy" so to speak? It increases the pumpability of the coin? Not really sure how this affects it.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Developper here - Trying to get into developing coins on: July 01, 2015, 01:17:29 PM
I am a software developer and I would like to start and develop cryptocoins.

I am trying to see if there are people interested in working together and launch coins.

I know Mintcoin {MINT} was looking for developers. Contact username"cryptomommy" if interested.

Interesting how all these other coins have received hyping and 'all this and all that' attention, and Mintcoin quitely keeps its ranks through all the noise. Mintcoin has surpassed Feathercoin, Worldcoin, Primecoin, Crave, Quark, Megacoin, Potcoin, Vertcoin, Devcoin...so many, among others.

Volume of this coin is too bad, it needs to improve ... I remember mint was glorious on mintpal.  Undecided

Yeah, I guess if cryptsy wallet gets fixed it would help... I have slowly seen volume increase on Poloniex, its easy sign up since they dont deal with usd they have no verification process..

I've used Bter, Cryptsy, and Poloniex. Poloniex is by far the best exchange I've used. They emphasize security, and for traders, they offer built in automatic TA features. >>>> "Fibonacci levels, SMA, EMA, and Bollinger Bands"...  it is really helpful, and worth the value, IMO.  Also, which is very important, IMO, they do not allow 'Wash Trading' (trading with yourself). So the volume there is really a lot more legit. All these other exchanges, they have all this volume but it is easily faked, and can make a coin more pumped, when it really is not. You can't fake the volume as easily on poloniex. I suppose you could somehow if you had multiple accounts?   I mean, some of these other Altcoins, and exchanges, you absolutely cannot trust the "volume" since Wash Trading is allowed. I mean I suppose if you really tried, and wanted to with multiple accounts you could spoof the volume on Poloniex, but I give them props for taking the initiative and eliminating same account wash trading, I mean think about it, it means the exchange will loose money. An exchange makes money on volume in trades.. . so an exchange that is seeking to be honest, and not allowing volume being "faked" is an exchange to be emphasized, and respected.

Hey guys, this is an announcement from crypto-trade.com
Quote
Important Announcement!

Due to very low volume and lack of good userbase, Crypto-Trade has decided to shutdown permanently due to inability to cover its expenditures on rented servers , staff salary and site promotion. All the users are requested to withdraw their funds within 48 hours. The site will continue to process pending withdrawals till our private wallet is empty. The site will go offline on 29th January 6:00 UTC.

If u have still have balance there, take it out immediately!

Thanks for the heads up. At least MINT is not traded there so there is nothing for us to worry about from that standpoint.

Hello all Mintcoiners,

I have uploaded a full copy of the Mintcoin Blockchain to Megaupload. This is to help all Mintcoiners who are new and want to fully sync their wallets from scratch quickly.

The link for the Blockchain as of August 11th is available here https://mega.co.nz/#!8x8zwZgS!TSg2kis3nLWx12_SsDFnbjQA-zDoOfhdkC09i3ks12g

The Zip file compresses the Blockchain by 31% and provides a direct link for download. The size of the file is 750 MB and takes about 1 hour to download vs approximately 36-48 hours to Sync from scratch.

I posted an in depth guide on sharing the Blockchain in this way a couple pages back as well.

Happy Mintcoining

Crestington

Fabulous! Thanks!

Cryptomommy asked me if I could do this for you guys and so I took the time out to do this for you guys so please make sure that this isn't going to get buried in the thread pages.

I don't own any Mintcoin and don't have a lot of time to devote to helping other Altcoins so I would like it if a someone from the community could take the time to test, adapt and polish the guide for Mintcoin which I posted a few pages back https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=450381.16600

In return for my services I would like it if you guys please could link me to the process you are using for uploading and hosting the Blockchain via Torrents.
Excellent! Do we have a torrent of this yet we can all seed? That way people can download it in like 5 minutes instead of an hour. I have lots of bandwidth to help out seeding.

I don't have loads of bandwidth, but I'd be more than happy to help seed.   Wink

Who can make a torrent and seed this? Also the magnet link on the announcement thread needs to be deleted as it is old and doesn't work.

I wouldn't concentrate on advertising right now...There is a more of work still to be done to clean up this coin... to make this coin more professional and presentable.

The main thing is cleaning up the presentation and online information for this coin.

Reddit still says there is a premine on the sidebar.

Github Mintcoin code comments still says there is a premine.

Premine references need to go.

Get rid of the little animation on the main website that has an outdated mintcoin logo.

The second thing, is to release the Android wallet, so we can actually share/use Mintcoin with people anywhere, on the go.

Then get the NGO released too.

The Android wallet, and NGO have been promised for a long time, yet nothing has been delivered. This is the reason why the coin is so low...no progress/development on the infrastructure surrounding the coin. Deliver on these things, and things will turn around. I'm looking forward to it, just some people probably lose patience.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MINT] Mintcoin Developer Releases Social Assets to the Community on: July 22, 2014, 07:10:11 PM
700,000,000 is less than 4% of the coin supply. This is much less to worry about than most coins which have premines, IPOs or covert instamines, et al that are much worse. Mintcoin's mining phase and distribution was great, but one thing after another has kept pounding the price down. Website issues, transparency, FUD, and also big multipools dumping millions of coins...Remember, Mintcoin was so profitable to mine during the initial distribution/mining phase that large Bitcoin multipools were mining Mintcoin and mining hundreds of millions of coins, and then they were dumping them too. But the mining phase is over now so this can't happen again.

Mintcoin's intital distribution was almost too good. It distributed so many coins to too many people...that didn't even want Mintcoins and dumped them. Too much of a good thing, became a bad thing for Mintcoin lol. Shocked  At least nobody can say Mintcoin had a bad distribution, it was epic. It was the most profitable coin to mine during the mining phase.

Here is Hope!

I have much more faith in you than I did with the old dev.

Thank you, cryptomommy for everything.

There is talk of re-branding the logo.  I just want to say that I like these Mintcoins look... we we can make the Mintcoins look more like this across the board?

Nah, I don't think it will go much lower. It hasn't been going down lately...more flat-line and actually up-trending for about a month now since it briefly touched 3 satoshis a while back. The reason I think is that there are still many holders of this coin and most of them at this point are solid believers in it. Spread all the FUD you want, isn't going to shake them. All the weak hands are basically gone now. If you look at the utility the coin has to offer it is very good for the price.

Mintcoin has potential.

Mintcoin is about to be the first full proof-of-stake coin to develop a mobile wallet for Android with full minting capability. This is huge. Mintcoin doesn't need miners to secure the blockchain, heck, it doesn't even need computers, all it needs to run is a cellphone. Mintcoin is fully energy efficient, and is extremely fast with 2 minute transactions.

About 4 hours and 20 minutes left to vote for Mintcoin at https://mywl.lt/voting/

Anyone have any BTC to throw at this to make Mintcoin #1? Maybe we could buy the votes at the last second and get added!  Cheesy
I think it is a scam. I could have sworn that I saw them remove some Mintcoin votes.  Huh
