what is merged mining? how is different from normal tera mining? This is an opportunity to use a max hash (hash leader) for two or more blockchains. This allows you to mine multiple blockchains without increasing the power of the hardware responsible for finding the maximum hash. The same Tera algorithm is used for mining. It was originally designed for such mining. Now when mining, you specify the number to receive the reward. If the number matches in different blockchains, you can mine several blockchains at once. The number is either an account number (less than 10 characters) or a 10-digit Advanced miner ID. If we go into more detail: these numbers are used to create tables in memory that are used to search for a hash for a new block. The search itself takes almost no time, so the same table can be used for hundreds of blockchains. Example set Adv miner ID:

one shard - 1000 tps two shards - 2000 tps more shard - more tps... The number of shards can be unlimited, since shards are connected to each other directly, and security is provided by merged mining.

Thanks! Very interesting. So Shards work like your own personal fork of Tera sort of? Where you can change some of the rules or code? I'm quite basic when it comes to coin coding so this is new to me. Just joining discord for tech discussion. https://discord.gg/CvwrbeG

Hello everyone, we have done a lot of work on refactoring the code and creating a new Protocol. Now the final code checks are being carried out - in the form of rewriting the entire transaction chain on the new code and comparing it with previous data, which will take about a day of time.
Therefore, the network will be updated in the next few days. The update is recommended for starting public testing of sharding.
The checks were successful - tomorrow (in the Sunday) we will update the code in the repository on gits - on Monday, we will update the entire network (at the moment, we have updated the test network)

As you all know, we are almost on the verge of launching the Testnet with support of sharding technology. Draft of the Sharding has already been completed. Within a couple of weeks, I will define the optimal parameters for starting sharding in the testnet, test the operation of dapps and prepare instructions for launch of Sharding. But this is not the main thing. The main news is that with the launch of sharding, I will integrate Oracles. Oracles are third-party services that provide to smart-contracts, communication abilities with external sources of information, they are, act as a bridge between blockchains and the outside world. Now, Oracles, for example, in Ethereum, are a separate blockchains. And I will integrate them into TERA as a process built-in mining. Another good news is that the integration of Oracles will not affect the launch schedule of the Testnet. Those who are not very familiar with the Oracle terms in the blockchain can learn more from this link: https://en.bitcoinwiki.org/wiki/Oracle?_ga=2.135739442.22768244.1603115028-1431252506.1603115028

Hi @everyone As you know, we now have youtube channel. And recently we have published some new videos, which we will use on our new website. The video is for quick introduction of the main features of TERA platform. You can watch it here: https://youtu.be/hxenhizpRps

Hi, @everyone As you all know, we're developing a new website. It is almost ready and we just need to finish not significant moments and before the launch of the sharding we will launch the new site. In the meantime, we prepared a short video for you. You will be able to see how the new TERA website looks. https://youtu.be/ICMam2RLjCg

vtoolsToday at 12:01 AM Hi, @everyone! A small update. I am currently updating sharding test-net with an intermediate version of code (release 2384) - debugging the correctness of refactoring (I simplify and optimize the internal structure in order to facilitate the work of future developers of shards). And in about 2-3 weeks, I will launch final sharding test-net, where I will test new methods in smart contracts and dapps. At the same time, the work to update the design of the site is underway. Stay tuned! Here is the screenshot of Shard Creation UI

The transition to the new jinn core has been successfully completed. We are starting the implementation stage of the cross-blockchain Protocol (sharding). #tera #blockchain #sharding

For information: in the Tera blockchain, the time for creating a new account has been reduced by 10 times from block number 64 million (free account creation mode). Now you can create a new account for free in each block, i.e. every 3 seconds. @everyone
