Just to clarify, when withdrawing from an exchange I use the account ID AND public key created for my NXT wallet?

Yes. The first time with any new NXT-address, you need to enter the provided (by the NXT wallet) public key in the withdraw form of the exchange.

If you don't see a public key in the NXT wallet but you don't have any NXT in it, maybe that's the GUI bug in the client where the public key doesn't display anymore after you added some assets to the NXT address. In that case have a look at https://nxtforum.org/nxt-helpdesk/public-key-problem/msg100085/#msg100085.

"To see your public key, go to http://localhost:7876/test, select getAccountId and enter your passphrase in the secretPhrase box, click Submit. It will return your public key."

can i include public key from new nxt acc in a transaction from old wallet?

Yes, if you attempt to send to an ID with no public key on the block chain, you will be required to enter a public key to send to that ID. Once that is done, that account will be secured with a public key.

new windows wallets - links updated...Apple to follow

So, what's going on here? Is this a needed release before PoS... or just a fix to PoW because PoS is still weeks away?

is NXT  supply  always  the same?  ------>999,997,096 NXT   until I can see each block generated paid to node that process information with fees, therefore new coins are not generated., is it correct?

Correct.

please can you tell me what is the difference between MGW, mgwbtc and mgwbtcd? and which one would you buy, all or none or one of them?

http://www.jl777.org/business-as-usual/

If you are buying mgwBTC, mgwBTCD, mgwLTC you are actually buying BTC, BTCD, LTC. They are no different than the actual coins wrt to value. They are just held by the multigateway (mgw) wallets which are all multi-signature addresses. You can also deposit/withdraw using the mgw to/from your BTC, BTCD, LTC (I don't think LTC, Doge, Via are up and running yet).

mgw is an asset and I believe it gets dividends from the multigateway fees. So, if you want to invest in the mgw then buy that asset.

Just be aware the mgw service is currently in flux, james is working on trying to get the system transferred over to the production servers that three separate entities will control, each controlling one server.

First time using the asset exchange in the wallet. I traded my nxtinspect for nxt about 5 hours ago and i still have not received my nxt. How long does it usually take?

Do you show an outstanding Sell order in your wallet?

Nothing outstanding.  This is the only transaction in my wallet after the trade today. 212 confirmations.

6096702319932573207   /   03/10/2014 07:13:57   Ask Order Placement      0   1   /   212

Your account looks right to me.

When I add/subtract your transactions I get 2452 NXT (i didn't include the decimals). When I add the 120.9 for your sell, that's 2572.9. Then I subtract the 6 NXT you have spent on fees I get 2566.9.

Nxt reporting shows you have a balance of 2565.06. So, seems that the NXT from the sell was added to your NXT balance.

You won't see a transaction for the NXT coming in, by the way, if that is what you are looking for.

Seriously? They don't request a token signed by that account with the deposit request message?

Maybe a ticket can be opened to request the security feature being added...
It could be. But for me it's like the sign that the one who is responsible for technology processes in CCEDK exchange doesn't have the understanding how crypto-currencies works.

Yes, it is worrying especially with a tagline of: Your place for safe and secure crypto currency exchange.

What's the minimum transaction with nxt?
Currently the minimum transaction on Bitcoin is 5430 Satoshi, and what about NXT?

I don't think that there is a minimum. You can send a message or transfer an asset which means 0 NXT is in the transaction. The fee is always 1 NXT no matter the size or type of tx.

And you are asked to deposit to FIM-Z38B-MAXH-ZHXC-DWXYX address, right?
Yes, but explain what is so unsafe, watching the address and making claims afterwards?
Yes. I'm just watching http://80.240.143.139/accounts/FIM-Z38B-MAXH-ZHXC-DWXYX,
and now I can create 2 `deposit request' in my CCEDK account. Saying I've sent 30000 from FIM-SCB8-LEPH-WWFH-9K7GR and 60000 from FIM-GDV7-V46L-TGCA-CAEA2.
To whose account money will be actually deposited? To original senders or to me?

Seriously? They don't request a token signed by that account with the deposit request message?

Nope.
More than that it is the same procedure for most of the coins there. And many of them (I guess) don't even have a possibility of generating a token.

What coin doesn't allow you to sign a message with a PK to prove ownership? All those I currently hold do.
790  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [XCH] ★ ClearingHouse - Freedom by Blockchain ★ on: October 03, 2014, 02:13:54 PM
BTER have added a XCH/BTC trading pair.

https://bter.com/trade/XCH_BTC

In case people want to do their sums, remember XCH was created with the following metrics:

Final totals: 103,837,396.51 XCH created for 1,087,511.79269591 VIA. The XCH supply is now permanently fixed.

So, that's 95 XCH = 1 Via.

or

1 XCH = .0105 VIA

or

1 XCH = 284 sat based on VIA at 25700sat.

Disclaimer, this may be wrong, and I did some slight rounding.

Of course, at this point there is no reason for the XCH/Via price ratio to remain at 95:1.

Are there really a total of 1,000,000 NeoDICE units?

Where do I see how many have been distributed / are in circulation and how many were issued exactly?

Initial distribution of shares:
5% NXTventure dividend, 5% SuperNET dividend, 45% Developers & maintainers, 40% Privatebet, 5% JLH

From here: https://nxtforum.org/nxtventures/(pre-ann)-neodice/

SuperNET dividend has been done. NxtVenture Dividend will be done shortly.
I took the following statement from a NxtVenture related posting at https://nxtforum.org/nxtventures/nxtventure-the-way-for-the-most-promising-enterprises-to-get-ae-listing/300/: Moving forward, NxtVenture will be doing combined dividends with SuperNET.
So if I wanted to invest $2K in either NxtVenture or SuperNet, is it best to invest it in NxtVenture or in SuperNet? It appears that they will be doing combined dividend distributions. Huh

Hmm... it seems to me that if SuperNET and NXTVentures are doing the same dividends the SuperNET is the one to get, because it will also get the NXT dividends from fees. OR are they saying NXTVentures will get those as well?

Did you allow it to make incoming/outgoing connections through your firewall?

90% sure, but I could have clicked the wrong button on accident.  Any idea what the program needs access as?  I looked at the list of allowed/blocked apps but I don't see anything that looks viable on either list.

Are you using a Mac or Windows?

Quite a nice spike in price too.  Word is getting out that free money rains from the sky to SuperNET holders.

Curious though if bter is going to pay dividends on NeoDice when it starts up.  I really need to just transfer this stuff to my NXT account I guess.  Anyone know how long the http://nxtra.org/nxt-wallet/ takes to DL the blockchain?  Its been going for 24 hours, but it doesn't tell me what % it is at or really give me any indication that it is even downloading anything.

It really depends on your network speed. IIRC it took me about 20-30 minutes to get it. But, I do have 50Mbps service.

What block are you on?

You can look at the size of the file.

Also, you can stop it, restart it, and when it starts the console shows you what block it is confirmed up to... to give you an idea of how many blocks you have d/l-ed.

Yea, I'm stuck on block 0.  Turned off my VPN and my firewall and tried again, looks like its updating now.  Not sure why either would cause a problem, but I'll wait until it's done and turn them back on one by one to see what's up.

Quick PoS update -

I am told it is complete, but I was too busy yesterday to check it out.  I will look today and hopefully get it set for beta testing.  Since the fight is only 2 days away, its probably best to wait until next week to implement.

The steps as I see them:
1.) Beta test PoS - we will need help with this
2.) Pick a block to implement
3.) Implement multi-pool

-BK

LOLOLOLOLOLOL

This was from a developer who couldn't deliver. This time things are actually getting done.

He could, but BK found that it took to long and gave the project to Bruce Wiener and he is taking even longer...or can't deliver

https://github.com/nautiluscoin/nautiluscoin/commits/development <-- you can compile the new proof of work wallet all by yourself right now if you want to. This is suppose to help improve blockchain stability, and provides the next steps towards the proof of stake movement.

What? Are they releasing a new version of the PoW wallet?

Hello everyone,

I invested a while back by buying on BTER. My Token has been transformed to Unity now. I'm a little worried just having them on the exchange. What's the best solution for keeping my Unity safe? Thanks in advance!

Get a NXT wallet and withdraw it from BTER.

NRS system: http://nxt.org/get-started-nxt/download-nxt-software

Weslet Client (one click installer): http://nxtra.org/nxt-wallet/

NRS with multigateway UI: http://multigateway.org/#sec_downloads

I received my NeoDice at Bter as well. I guess now it is safe to transfer my UNITY and NeoDice to my nxt wallet.

Same here. Works like a charm.
I'm amazed everytime at the speed of these transactions... Makes Bitcoin feel like a dinosaur whenever I do a BTC transaction!  Grin

I never had a problem with BTC tx time. Sure, the confirms are a bit slow, but just moving money to a wallet, seeing the unconfirmed tx is enough for me. I don't think I've every received a tx that didn't confirm.

But yes, the NXT 1 minute block times are nice. Wink Especially when using the AE. I can't imagine using Counter Party and waiting 10 minutes for a buy/sell to go through.

DGEX is still easy to buy.
- at which price? at 0.00000499 BTC/FIM ??  it is ridiculous.  You can buy up to 375 000 FIM at 29 NXT/1000FIM, which translates to 0.00000214 BTC/FIM !

Quote
Open Sell Orders
Account                              Quantity   Price   Total
NXT-WR9W-RPQW-8ZJ7-6U2D7   375.068   29   10876.972
NXT-YLSS-TMTM-DU2A-55PED           93.6   30   2808
NXT-8T4Z-6NRS-PBGB-6UWU9      18.104   35   633.64

In order to buy / sell FIM at Nxt AE just use 1000FIM Gateway.

You can also buy FIM (for NXT) at p2p exchange (like localbitcoins) https://nxtex.net/

Sounds like some people need to adjust their Asks if people are asking 499 on dgex.

Alas, no chance to arb if you can't deposit to dgex.
