I've been watching that poll at the top of the thread and had to laugh that the day before it ends all these folks started voting 5500-6000.  And now we move to 6250...lol...just shows...there is no way to predict this beast....even the day before the poll ends.

I know...everyone wants to focus on gloom and doom...just thought it was a funny observation  Smiley  but I'm not worried.

I guess I was expecting more despair. But I guess I'm it. Undecided

well, I guess unless you are trying to cash out in the next couple of months, I just don't understand the concern.

Sometimes I think I'm in the wrong thread. The new wealthy elite really doesn't seem to give a shit. Puzzling.

I'm not sure what you are talking about...there was plenty of warning.  People like Tone Vays and Crypto Sniper have been warning of this (and much worse) for months.  For a little more upbeat view watch Node Investor....but none of this price action should come as a surprise to anyone.

...However the beta is not the full release...

Are you sure about that?

Also, this is an open-source project.  The idea is that community members contribute additional coding / functionality as they feel needed...the project should continue to grow/evolve over time.

I'm looking forward to a day when people stop quoting roach so we don't have to see his comments in quotes...it kind of defeats the purpose of the ignore button  Wink

Sucky that Golem continues to climb and Elastic continues to drop, does this mean people see Golem as the better project? I am much more invested into Elastic personally.

Give it time, the word of the day is "Decentralized". They'll come flocking to $XEL sooner or later. Just keep on accumulating.

Good words. It is only necessary to understand the project more deeply and evaluate its competitors, as it becomes clear that XEL is the best! As soon as the main network is launched and the marketing campaign begins, competitors will swallow the dust. Cool

And when will the mainet go live? Are there any independent reviews comparing Elastic to its competitors like Somn of Golem?

I don't see how anyone could do a comparison w/o looking at the code.  We already know xel has completely different use-cases that any other similar project, so that comparison doesn't do much good.  The difference is that only one of them actually works...but what do I know...keep in mind I'm biased towards xel

can you tell something more about the different use-cases of xel?
I've always thought that xel can be used in every case! I've always thought that there is no limitation of xel's implementation!

Go to XEL's newly published site:  https://xeline.org/

And click on the top link for "What is XEL".  It will give you an idea of some of the types of early use-cases I would expect to fit in XEL.  But in general, XEL if for deterministic problems that can be processed in parallel.

is this project dead?

no twitter update, no slack working, no updates in github but just this sadly message:

I no longer have time / desire to work on the Elastic project after all the fud and negative critisim of the project

useless project ever. hope a homeless life for developers. fucking idiots

You are clearly the idiot here.

First, ek is the developer on the project and in case you can't read back just a couple posts, you'll clearly see he is still working on the project.

Second, I voluntarily (as in unpaid) provided a fully functional miner for the project simply because I found the concept interesting.  So what now is your expectation...that I spend the rest of my life working on this project for free just to make you (and others like you) money?  You should be happy that someone provided their time working on the project for free in the hopes to move it forward rather than post a bunch of crap.

And if you want to check on the progress of the project, why would you be looking for updates on the completed miner github, instead of the ongoing work that ek is doing on the compute engine in his github.  It's dicks like you that made it so I have no interest in working on the project anymore.

When you work in web development you quickly learn that the absolute best day for updates and deployment is a Friday. Roll Eyes

Pretty sure Kraken will be back. Best not to worry too much guys.

I agree...for those in IT this is the norm.  I'm just hoping this maintenance will help out the performance of their servers.

This is still the most entertaining thread at bitcointalk.  It spans from "it's going to the moon" to the "sky is falling" and back again....I really hope most here are just kidding around and don't take this so seriously

Be water, my friend.

Ahhh, yes...I like that advise ;-)

But in all seriousness, I hope people focus on their family and friends during this time of year, and of course their health...the rest of this...this is just fun...enjoy the ride which ever way it may go

LOL, love that Avatar.
Sir, i am new here so i have a question, can you answer it?

I found top 1 wallet have 48.6m XEL, who own it? And if this wallet is your, do you have any plan to burn coins?

Many thanks!

Bittrex exchange wallet... Roll Eyes

48.6 Million XEL waiting at Bittrex to be traded. That is an unusual high proportion of a coin's total supply sitting at an exchange. More so at one single exchange. Why are so many people waiting to sell it?

Nothing wrong with this.. Where else these coins should be? Not everyone want to install wallet on their PC to hold xel...

I don't know why everybody else is doing this but I can offer you insight as to why I am. Simply put I dislike web wallets and would like to have my funds in a different type of wallet. I can't put them onto a hardware wallet and I don't really know how paper wallets function so not gonna try that first time here. Is there any other options to store the coins? I would like to use a proper desktop wallet but I didn't think this was available yet. Please correct me if I got this incorrect, ty.

I would also like to keep my Elastic on a desktop wallet. If that is possible currently anyway.

I too don't care for "brain wallets" but a while back I was discussing this issue w/ EK and he actually had some pretty good arguments as to why they are preferable in his opinion.  Maybe he can post similar comments here to help explain some of the benefits of a "brain wallet" vs the tradition QT wallet.

But rest assured, your coins are safe either way.

Who is trusted guy from our community, I will give domains / newsletter etc to him for marketing today or later. That accounts is not mine. Just I manage for community, feel free.

ByRallier, can you please check your PM's...I believe mr.coinzy reached out to you several days ago offering to take over the website, etc.

I personally have complete trust in mr.coinzy and hope you follow through with your offer to turn over the website.

byrallier, can you please provide some clarification regarding this tweet?  As you already know I think its a mistake to market xel prior to the compute engine being released, but that's not my call.  But what I'm unclear of is where this marketing firm is going to get the detailed information about how xel works and what it's used for.  Even I don't fully understand all the technical aspects behind xel.

I think they could do a lot of damage if they present a lot of information about xel that is not factual.  Either way, just didn't want anyone to think I was involved with this marketing campaign.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [XEL] :: Elastic - The Decentralized Supercomputer :: on: October 21, 2017, 01:10:49 AM
This is one of the best projects in whole crypto . Because of all the implications of having this huge super computer , the applications are limitless.  If Elastic delivers we could reach 1 billion marketcap . Hope devs are buying every dip.

Selling at this prices is criminal.

More than once the team made a huge update at once. Wouldn't surprise me , if we had a huge breakthrough out of the blue, and the price just sky rockets.

Well, I'm not buying the dips...can't speak for ek...but if you guys are driving the price into the ground thinking this is a good investment strategy I'll bet that you are wrong (but I could be wrong).  In my opinion you are just helping drive all the fud arguments and scaring off those that are truely interested in what we are doing here.  Pretty soon, you'll own a whole lot of nothing...
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [XEL] :: Elastic - The Decentralized Supercomputer :: on: October 10, 2017, 02:14:00 PM
and just for further clarification, (as some may truly not understand this)...both ek and I work on our local computers...we push code to github as needed (to share what we've done with each other, or simply to serve as a backup).  Neither of us push code there, just to show people like tomkat that progress is being made.

I'm am still confused by the comments I see around this project...so many other project have little or no development, and people just continue to support it as they believe in the idea.  For whatever reason, this project has so many people that demand frequent updates, it's unreal.

If you don't believe in the idea behind the project or the work that is being done, please just move on to something else.

tomkat, what is your agenda here?  I provided an update just a couple days ago, which is what you claim is all that is needed.  But you always have negative comments about the project and seem to be in a big rush to get something delivered.  Do you have a project that you are trying to implement on Elastic?  Or do you just need the price to pump so that you can dump your xel?
