741  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: morocco.man => SCAMMER on: July 10, 2015, 04:04:10 PM
You can open payza dispute i hope you get all your money back

They won't help you because their user agreement is against selling/buying Bitcoins from unauthorized services.

Trust is not moderated. However, if you get a lot of fake feedbacks, thise feedbacks maybe removed by admins but this won't be removed. Just ignore it.
But it's so dirty. I look like a scammer and I don't want that. I don't scam people - not here, not anywhere in my life. You can see my real reputation, deals with great guys from here, all green and smooth, as it is like that. So I am so disturbed by seeing this, that I have a headache already.
Some admin, please, help.

See mine for example. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=320943

Check Vod's. Even theymos' and Satoshi has negative trust feedback.

P.S. Just ignore.
743  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the cold storage wallet? on: July 09, 2015, 04:39:31 PM
A cold wallet is basically a wallet that you store offline, so on a usb-stick, hard disk.
By cold wallet it means that no one else but you can access it, so it can't be hacked.

So what if the flash drive gone or got corrupted and you don't store any copy of backup in other drive? Does it retrievable?

Cold wallet is not "storing in a USB". Cold wallets means storing Bitcoins in a wallet which is not accessible connected to Internet(completely offline).

No. It is not retrievable but sometimes, you might be able to recover files from your USB stick. I highly recommend you to either create a second(digital) backup or print private keys.

PC > Offline Wallet (a file) > Flash Drive / Hard Drive > Is this how it goes? So it have a file extension? Damn sorry I have many questions. Sad

What goes?

Three ways are:

 • Storing private keys in a completely offline hard disk and/or USB.
 • Printing or writing down private keys.
 • Memorize private key(s).

746  Other / Meta / Re: Publish URL in a new thread? on: July 09, 2015, 12:27:31 PM
You can't. New users are prohibited from posting links except to specific trusted sites.

Means only newbies can't post external links to other untrusted websites? I have often seen newbies/junior members posting links of malicious websites/software links but that wasn't  prohibited. I used to report those threads and they used to get deleted then.

It is automated and may not work all time.

The forum tries to detect phishing links and stuff and replaces them with that notice. The code that does this seems to be quite buggy though as I've seen it occasionally block out text that wasn't a link.
747  Other / Meta / Re: What makes a link [Suspicious link removed] ? on: July 09, 2015, 12:18:49 PM
Links are usually replaced with that warning for newbies.
748  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info - Bitcoin Block explorer & Currency Statistics on: July 09, 2015, 12:12:57 PM
My bit coin transaction is not conformed from block chain what to do?

It is most probably not a problem of Blockchain.info wallet. Stress tests are going on these days by spamming blockchain. As a result, transactions will take more time than usual. 'Wait' is all you can do now.
749  Other / MultiBit / Re: Multibit long term reliability? on: July 09, 2015, 12:11:25 PM
Wait, so Electrum isn't secure?

Say you wanted to put your retirement savings into BTC, like for instance you live in Greece... Putting it in an Electrum Wallet with the cold storage guide here isn't "set-it and forget it" secure?

IF that's true then the guys at Bitcoin need to get their butts together to better prevent theft or cryptocurrency will never take off as a replacement for fiat on any scale that makes it feasible.

edited for readability. Brain gets ahead of fingers sometimes. Smiley

Electrum is[/is] secure and so does, Multibit.
750  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is this the best way to make a paper wallet? on: July 09, 2015, 12:08:59 PM
I'll explain my process of creating a secure paper wallet.

- Run a full anti virus scan on your computer
- Head over to bitaddress.org
- Disconnect from the internet, right click anywhere on the page & save
  webpage to desktop (still offline).
- Clear cookies & cache, restart your computer
- Double click saved webpage on your desktop
- Create randomness by moving your mouse around
- Create paper wallet
- Print paper wallet (2 or 3 copies)
- Restart computer
- Computer back on, reconnect to internet & send BTC to your new public
  address

Simple!

thank you , that was pretty easy!

But it's really hard to keep a paper wallet safe for long , so it's better you get it laminated and paste a sticker on top

Wait what? What do you mean? I thought paper wallets were pretty safe and the only way for you to get ''hacked'' would be for the hacker to steal physically the paper or somehow look at it, right?

He meant that papers can easily be destroyed/damaged, so its better to do something to prevent it.

752  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: OVERVIEW: BITCOIN HARDWARE WALLETS █████████████████ Secure your Coins on: July 09, 2015, 11:51:34 AM
@LiteCoinGuy: Please remove BWallet. It is not at all a secure wallet.

This might have changed now, as they've updated along with new TREZOR firmware versions - https://github.com/bwallet/bwallet-mcu

People interested to know more could keep an up to date diff between all cloned firmwares (so far that's TREZOR, BWallet, EWallet (not sure they published anything though) and BitExchange)

If BWallet had no problem adding tracking supercookie when it released, I don't think it will be hard for them to do again. It's better not to buy wallets from shady/untrustworthy developers and listing it here may put someone else in danger.
753  Other / Meta / Re: should luke-jr be on Default Trust? on: July 09, 2015, 11:41:15 AM
-snip-
To install code with those features (and what's more to build it from source yourself) and then pretend that those features are some kind of "malware" is quite nuts.

So... when we run commands to compile a source, whatever unwanted things in the program won't be malware. Hmm...?

I know you have a conflict of interest in this but please... don't. No offence.

Whats that conflict?

QuickSeller.

-snip-
Quickseller is trying to smear luke-jr by throwing around these references to "malware" but it's not malware if you read the code and decided to install it on your machine.
 -snip-

-snip-
bfgminer needs bitcoinqt or bitcoind to mine with it, maybe he overread it or misinterpreted.

No, it does not. You only need Bitcoin Core/d/XT if you are solo mining.

BFGMiner surely would contain this code too then.

I don't think so.

-snip-
My enhancements for Bitcoin Core have always shown as an optional feature keyworded "ljr".
In the most recent versions, Gentoo users are also given options for "xt" (Bitcoin XT), and independent policy settings such as RBF, CPFP, and my spamfilter.
None of this has ever been hidden, and after there was confusion the first time, I went to extra steps to ensure there was a clear document covering each and every enhancement included in the patchsets I maintain and even after confirming options, users are shown the descriptions of the options they have chosen to use.

It might not have been a hidden feature but you did not publicly mentioned about it and ljr spamfilter for Gentoo package was definitely a default feature.

Deploying the 'ljr' USE flag to Gentoo as a default quietly was wrong,
 -snip-

Thanks for clarifying, Luke-Jr.  I tried to emphasize that Gentoo doesn't even distribute binaries (or at least it used to not), that all software packages are makefiles and source code and that people who aren't interested in custom builds don't tend to run Gentoo.

But... does that mean the user will know whatever codes are there in that file?

The other point is that people who don't likem  what a package maintainers for an open-source distro are doing with that package are totally free to build the package as they like.  You can't say should "freedom" at someone as you tell them what they're not allowed to do with software they write.

#1. It was not just his software. It was official Bitcoind Gentoo package.
#2. He did not made that public and even made it default.
#3. Even other core developers told it was not good to make it as a default.
#4. According to your view, any developer who don't need approval for commits, can add these things without making this public and without asking other developers.
#5. According to your view, , when we run commands to compile a source, whatever unwanted things(especially, which were not publicly mentioned) in the program won't be malware. Hmm...?
754  Other / New forum software / Re: New Forum>??? on: July 08, 2015, 05:22:31 PM
Maybe the admin should make a poll to see what users want, new forum look or stick with the one right now or at least similar, after all we are the ones that are going to use it, i think our opinion should matter.

Polls can be manipulated easily using alts.

Please do note:

There maybe some more changes.

-snip-
Note that the software is not yet feature-complete (in particular, the Web design is far from done), and the public repository doesn't contain everything already done.
UI design hasn't yet begun. Thats just a placeholder so that the forum can be built/tested.
755  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Help With Checking the Signature of Electrum Download on: July 08, 2015, 05:10:24 PM
On this page:

https://bitcoin-otc.com/viewgpg.php?nick=Animazing

What is meant by a "fingerprint", as given in one of the column headings?

Thanks

The fingerprint you see is fingerprint of Animazing's public key which is used to verify the PGP key you have is Animazing's.

For example, if Alice wishes to authenticate a public key as belonging to Bob, she can contact Bob over the phone or in person and ask him to read his fingerprint to her, or give her a scrap of paper with the fingerprint written down. Alice can then check that this trusted fingerprint matches the fingerprint of the public key. Exchanging and comparing values like this is much easier if the values are short fingerprints instead of long public keys.

{...}

In addition, fingerprints can be queried with search engines in order to ensure that the public key that a user just downloaded, can be seen by third party search engines. If the search engine returns hits referencing the fingerprint linked to the proper site(s), one can feel more confident that the key is not being injected by an attacker, such as a Man-in-the-middle(MITM) attack.

lorylore wants 50% of the earnings you receive by posting, where in fact, you can keep whole earnings yourself. This is a not a good deal for you.

* I have not checked whether Coinomat or Yobit accepts users with negative trust score.

I think yobit does; ive seen a few users with red trust on yobit's campaign. I don't understand why the topic of a 50-50 deal on a signature campaign would ever come up though, maybe i missed something because i only skimmed the op.

Both Yobit and Coinomat signature campaign use bot. lorylore want ClamCoin(OP) to wear either Coinomat or Yobit and use lorylore's address. When lorylore receives signature payment, he/she will share 50% of that with OP.
