Just a general question is everyone running there Pi's in Stock mode? I tried today doing the Modest over clock and I am running 6 Gridseed Blades and my average Load is 0.24 which seems a little lower then on stock clock which was closer to 0.29 not a huge difference but its just as stable so I was wondering if there is really anything to gain from OCing the Pi possible the ability to handle more miners for those having trouble over 20 globes has anyone tried this out? I notice my Pi running Stock clock 16 Globes runs about 0.25 as my 15 min average

From my understanding, it's not the speed that's stopping the Pi from controlling more, but the on-board memory. OCing the Pi really doesn't get you anything extra, except more heat maybe.

Well, last few days I've had big issues with them. My balance hasn't moved at all. The unexchanged/immature changes, then just drops to 0 with my balance staying the same. No updates from the owners since the 8th. Not looking good.

We tell the stores that carry them not to keep them over a month.  Once they are out of our hands, we can't control the environment they are in, (heat, humidity, stored next to something with orders like onions...).   Thus the 1 month expiration suggestion.

Trust me on this one... They won't last a whole month.

I ended up having to put mine in the fridge. Texas heat was making them too soft. And, yes, get the almonds. They are to die for.

Thanks again guys for a great product.

Yeah, I need to hook everything up to a UPS myself.

I've got my 12 on a server shelf, and the PSU/USB on a shelf under it. I think I need to change out 1 of my power strings. My new one is nice and cool with 4 hooked up to it, but my other ones are running pretty warm with just 4 on it. They're all running at 1200MHz+. I modded them myself.

Nice setup.... now clean up them wires. Smiley

Yeah, I'm waiting for 2 more strings to come in. Until I can get another PSU I'll just have to have 4 per, and not OC them as much.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sweet Jesus, gotta protect your mining equipment. on: May 24, 2014, 07:00:55 AM
I heard no more than 4-5 per string coming off the PSU. Me, I am going to be using 3 per power pcie plug. I am curious now, which PSU were you using? brand make/model wattage.

It's a Thermaltake Toughpower 875W. So, it has 4 PCIe ports. So, I'm down to 3 now. Even if I could use the one that fried I wouldn't trust it. Sad
I just ordered another spliter, so I'll have 5 on 2 PCIe ports, and 2 on the last one. Right now I have 6 with fans that have been modded to run at half speed. So I'll have one at the top of the stack, and one at the bottom. And, 3 120mm fans running over them.

Time to re-organize my wires. I have everything on 2 shelves in my server rack. Still trying to make it all nice and neat, and good air flow.

Is that really all you have to do with thermal paste? Put a little dab on and it'll help out? Hmmmmmmm

Just make sure it's non-conductive. Arctic Silver 5 is a no-no.

Now on to my issue:
I'm using an ATX power supply to power my 12 seeds. I have 10 on one cable, and 2 on another. Then they both plug into a spiltter. Then that plugs into the PCIe cable to the PSU. Well, I just fried where they connect to the PCIe cable, and in the power supply. I've got most of them running about 1200Mhz. I'm assuming I was pulling too much power for 1 cable. How many do you think I can safely run on 1 PCIe port off the PSU?

If you're wondering what cables I'm using to split the power cable, here's a link... http://lutro0-customs.com/products/gridseed-pci-e-modded-power-cables

Here's a quick and dirty diagram:

you have to try the honey roasted almonds. just got my order thanks again!

That's on the list. Smiley

Just wanted to post a quick review of this. I got the plain and raspberry caramels. Also got a 4oz jar of honey.

Was quick shipping, and very good. Already planning on my next order to try some of the other flavors.

Itīs on the right side above the list of devices and looks like a pencil

Doh, ok, face palm time. Now that you said that I remember.

I'm running into an issue. I've upgraded to the latest version, and I don't see the save freq button anymore. Or have you changed it so it only shows after it's done autotuning?
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Minera] Your next mining dashboard is here. on: May 18, 2014, 01:45:58 AM
i just wanted to say OMFG you rock, i tried every rasberry image and Minera is THE BEST.

one quick question, on your rasberry image, ( i know i'm a newb when it comes to linux ) how do i change the
time zone to show the correct time on my minera web page.

thanks

You'll have to SSH into the device, and run "sudo raspi-config". That'll give you some options that you can change. Under Internationalisation Options should be where the time zone option is.

As soon as the theory hit me that the power supply didnt have enough ass, I wanted to check the voltage under the load of the GS.  It has a molded plug, so no screwing off the plastic cover to get at the terminals.  If it had regular twin lead running to it, I could have stuck a needle in each wire and measured the voltage that way, but no, it's coaxial cable.  So I hooked up another power supply, and bam bam bam one acceptance after another.

It's a blessing, really, I learned lots more about the Pi than I would have...

I had this same issue. Had 2 hooked up to a cheep USB hub, and they'd just drop off. 1 was no issue. Got a better hub, and have had no issue since.

I'm using Scripta right now, but I think I'm going to give Minera a shot. I seamed to do better with the auto-tune, and BFGminer doesn't have that. And, until I can get all mine volt modded that might help as well.

Terk,
Just keep doing what you're doing. You're always going to have someone complain about something you're "not doing right". And, a quick question. Do you plan on doing Vardiff again? Not a huge deal, but just don't like seeing so many rejects on my GridSeeds. Smiley

Now convert all my coins.... kidding kidding.
