1  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: CEX.IO Scam. Filing a complaint. on: February 19, 2023, 02:31:08 PM
Just to get the backstory right. At the time, you invested in the cloud hashing or mining venture.

Were you aware that cloud mining is just some sort of bullshit/Ponzi, or you were completely naive about the outcomes?

It was in cloud hashing. No it is not a Ponzi. Those russian/chinese killed it by defrauding everyone. Very sunny in this country and very cheap land. I managed a personal farm before on solar with several terraminers. I remember I had to "fix" some of them since the mosfets shorted and I had to burn them entirely with 12v battery. This killed one core but permitted the rest of the cores to be powered and the machines were able to start again. Of course best fix would be mosfet replacement but this is knowledge I got later studying how VRMs worked.

I'm trying to understand what's going on here. the user woke up his thread after 5 years with a fraud theory.
I would like to hear detailed information about where and how he was cheated, and why he waited 5 years to talk about it again. of course, all of this should be much more direct and clear than in his previous posts.

I remember the time when CEX sold mining hash (maybe they were pioneers in that business), but I also remember that they stopped all of that because such a business model brought loss to everyone.

Obviously when those scammers stole a lot of my money I needed to recover from their attack. I did by building a new company and it took a couple of years. We are ready to jump now. And FYI is not a theory, they stole 1+ BTC to be exact in a couple of weeks. They used to sell ancient cloud mining hardware in shares and there is were the scam was. If you sell old trash at modern prices hiding the information to the buyer this is definitely a scam even if it is old GPU repainted on ebay. Anyways lets go for their market share. Pretty much an expansion of my current company.

How exactly were you scammed? What say the terms & conditions when you invest in their cloud hashing?

If you have proof of your claim, you can directly start a court case in London.

The problem with that, is that is too costly for what they stole and they know it. They took from me a little bit than 1 BTC. Currently it runs at current price for 24K and just expenses in lawyers probably will take it if I win the case. The best thing is to use that money to compete against them and take away their market share. Exfiltrate money from their pocket to our pocket. Effective. But yes eventually I will be pursuing the legal route even if that means losing some money. Is not the right time. It will come.

We did not actually make anyone invest in cloud mining. It was your own decision. And if you have chosen the inappropriate time, we are sorry about the issue, but there is nothing we can do to solve the case. It is always users' responsibility to decide whether to make an investment or not. In many cases, it is just an issue of luck.

I hate when this scammer says it "was your decision" washing his dirty hands keeping ppl's money. It was YOUR decision to sell ancient hardware and LIE to people. It was YOUR decision to take it down and make all shares worth nothing while keeping all our money. My decision will be to take YOU and your disgusting company to their knees and show you that to scam people is evil and disgusting.

Lets do something folks, since police never did anything against those scammers even I filed more than one report. Let's start an exchange and overthrow them. I am currently the CEO of a trading company therefore an exchange is very much in alignment with my current niche. My plan is to take over their business eventually. I am currently studying/programming an exchange and I have worked before as computer security consultant for the government of my country. Before funding my current company. I think I am pretty much qualified to make this move. Is time to put out of business all of those greedy russians and chinese(bitmain) scammers. I think this can be a profitable business by doing things right. Will be a slow but steady process and likely will take years. In the meanwhile we will be taking market share from them. I am already conducting business analysis on them, already selected the domain and studying some exchange sourcecode I am forking. I am doing a review to check if it is not tainted in some way. Also a friend of mine that runs an apartment building construction company will be providing capital. If some of you want to join let me know.

Any time you are handing your personal information to a site like BTCJam, make sure you are on the benefiting side of the contract (Plot twist: You never will be).

If you need a legitimate loan try a bank

Can you elaborate on that? Why you won't be on the befiting side? Just to get informed. I was considering to get aloan with them at some point.
6  Economy / Scam Accusations / CEX.IO Scam. Filing a complaint. on: January 06, 2017, 12:11:11 AM
Hi Folks:

I know many like me were scammed by CEX.IO. I for example invested in their cloud hashing and never saw a single cent back. Like some weeks later they closed the mining. Everytime I open a ticked with support they come to me with the same excuse:

"difficulty and bad pool luck do not depends on CEX.IO". They have being telling me this for over two years.

Fact is they don't want to return our money. So I think if we join together we can push them. I mean they have a profitable company while we lost our money. This is not fair at all. They win and we loose. Not acceptable.

I know many of you like me want to get their money back. I mean are we going to let them run a profitable company trading money enjoying their profit while we sorry our loss? So I want to start this thread so we join toguether to fight the owners of CEX.IO and make the change.

I am filing a complaint to the FBI here: https://www.ic3.gov/complaint/default.aspx

Please join in to make pressure.

EDIT: Here you can report to the UK police
