1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Lyrabar - Rare bar with Lyra2RE algorithm [CPU / GPU PoW] on: October 07, 2015, 08:33:32 AM
There's something im not getting here. Lyra2Rev2 is designed to give an edge to GPU mining and the POLL in this thread suggests that the majority of the miners want to mine with their CPU... so, what gives?
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Vertcoin - 1 | ASIC - 0 | Lyra2RE | Decentralised | GPU Mineable | Open Source on: September 11, 2015, 12:13:31 PM
Mining in summer sucks - you want to, but feel torn between mining and not being cooked alive.  Sad
this basically defines my mining activity for the last 4 months. It takes just a couple of hours for my mining rigs to increase the room temperature to Sahara levels, and I do have a fuckin expensive cooling setup in place

Is it still suffering from botnet?
nope
4  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Neteller now is using Bitpay to accept Bitcoin as deposit method - Big news! on: July 15, 2015, 08:24:22 AM
Sorry I forgot to update. The issue got sorted after I left the support an email . They said they were tracking the payment and will add it to the account, which they did later.
How much time did it take them to sort out your issue? From sending the ticket to receiving the balance in your account?
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Vertcoin - 1 | ASIC - 0 | Lyra2RE | Decentralised | GPU Mineable | Open Source on: July 14, 2015, 12:36:57 PM
What do you think, are there private kernels with improved rates?
If yes, how much faster do you think they are?

As for the botnets, all GPU coins are susceptible to botnet mining, however the good coins give GPUs enough advantage over CPUs so that the combined mining power of all GPUs is not less than or equal to one single botnet.

Now look what we have here, just a couple of posts above.

Have no mercy. It's in all of our interests!
Quote from: HR
An excellent Dev Team in almost every category (Technical Skills, Implementation, Communication / PR, Long Term Vision), with an excellent community in almost every category as well (Diversity, Open Debate, OS Commitment, 3rd Party Initiatives), phenomenal technical robustness (Security, Widely Distributed, Decentralized, Operational Speed)
1) There is no Dev Team, there is one developer and as awesome as he might be, hes on a spring break atm.
There is no communication, no PR for the last one and a half years, Long Term goals can be outlined as "survive as long as possible"

2) The "community", nowadays, represents about 20 people on reddit and a couple more in here. There is this other forum nobody ever visits and there you can see the same 20-30 people from reddit and bct posting a line every month. Im not even gonna mention some of the projects in the past that got back-burned by that same "excellent" community

3) Compared to an year ago, VTC is now an old timer, with no technical development or innovations whatsoever. Some time ago we had 25-30% P2P mining network, solo/p2p mining incentives, test layer coin, stealth addresses and lots and lots of dreams about decentralization. Now we have Lyra2RE whit a shitty kernel and a heaven for botnets, no test layer coin, no p2p mining and no dreams and aspirations.

Your report about VTC might have been true, if you had written it 1 year ago
7  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Advcash - a new "anonymous" prepaid card [Recharge it with bitcoin] on: July 06, 2015, 01:16:36 PM
whow, thats interesting...
So, who's the issuer of this MasterCard? Whats the BIN?
Also, does MasterCard know that you are putting Bitcoins on the card? Because they wont be happy at all... In fact, they will most certainly knock on your door and tell you not to do that anymore or you will loose your issuing license.
Judging by the thread so far I am expecting somebody to say "Nu-huuh, BitPay are giving us dolla dolla bills, thats not bitcoin and its no problem for MC"... but the truth is that MC will shut you down just because somebody mentioned BTC in the funding process. And believe me when I say, these MC dudes are fuckin mental on the all AML regulation thing thats related to the BTC.

Come again please ... so the lead developer of Vertcoin is a 17 years old school boy? Unfucking believable. You all who is pumping this thing must be fucking joking.
It seems that you are new here.
Its nice to see people that come here just so that they can spread their wisdom, but Im quite sure that we can do without it.

I sound experienced, fairly and humanely and  you're still young or you're a team member pumper. Also, Bushido or Zerovert deceived people for Zerovert and was designated as a fraud ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=846471.0 ). He is left and Monocle Coin and Coin Parallax.
You sound delusional and childish.

Zerovert was not designed as a fraud, Bushido might not have been the best lead dev a community might have, but he never took part in a scam. If you want to know more on what happened, go search in the reddits, there is plenty of info on the matter there.

Parallax was a retarded project from some random guy that though he could piggyback on Monocle. If you want to blame somebody for Monocles failure, blame that guy.
Monocle was discontinued by both old and new devs, although our awesome new lead dev James is thinking of reviving that project.

If you are here so you can just hang about and shout "scam" and "fraud" just because, I would have to ask you, politely, to shut the fuck up.

Watch... FTC will be next.
thats an interesting observation, I was thinking the same the other day. Mind sharing your reasons

if above happens then 1 VTC = 1000$ however thousands will lose their jobs (again)
I don't think so, infant investments (and thats exactly what crypto currencies really are) are for people with savings/money they dont need right away.
Also, there is a huge difference between gold and CCs, the main one being that gold is a highly valued commodity for the last 40-50 centuries. People feel secure when they own gold, because they know that whatever happens they can always rely on the gold. Economy crashes, USD gets hyper-inflated, people getting poorer with the hour - no worries, you still have that gold.
Totally not the same with Cryptos.... If the aforementioned happens, I can bet my shiny ass that cryptos will get blown to bits.

Wow, they have no clue as to what we are about!  They also seem seriously lazy as well.  I'm not impressed.

yep, coder who are not interested in code, except their own written.
You two are wrong, he has a point and the point is solid - until somebody really puts effort and skills into taking down Darkash, nobody will ever know how secure the network is.

I think crypto is going to take off across the board soon... The bond market is very shaky and we are seeing signs eerily similar to the 2008 banking crisis.

The roadmap as it currently stands:
  • Fork Monocle to create a new merge-mined coin for testing purposes (this will also serve as a good reference wallet for others wanting to develop their own merge-mined coin for VTC)
fak yea, go Monocle!

No , i want to buy some , and i want best price .
Who doesn't. But then again, will you trust me if I tell you that the price will come crashing by the end of the month?
Check this one out:
http://www.investopedia.com/university/technical/techanalysis8.asp
It looks like the charts are forming a symmetrical triangle. When the pattern breaks, there will be a huge movement either up or down (that's a surprise, right?), this means that quite soon, the price will either crash really hard or go above 0.0008.

My guess is that in 2 weeks the price will be back to 0.0002-ish or lower, but I can't deny that I've been wrong quite a few times

I am trying to mine Vertcoin using the P2Pool locally and I am getting error messages that "Bitcoin it too old.  Upgrade to .5".  I am being disconnected and banned for bad behavior.
j0
Elaborate on the part in bold. Also, where are you getting this message from? Where are you being disconnected from, the p2pool?
As for the hardware errors, most probably a setting issue. Have you tried mining on a regular pool, just to see if you have any other related issues?
where she will go , up or down , or stay stable .
So, you are basically asking "should I sell or should I hodl"? My answer to you is - YES!
