361  Economy / Exchanges / Re: who is the owner of poloniex ? on: September 01, 2015, 10:25:01 PM
According to http://whois.domaintools.com/poloniex.com  poloniex is owned by Tristan D'Agosta. I think that they are a safe exchange since they have obtained a bit license from state of New York.
362  Economy / Speculation / Re: $300 in the end of August on: September 01, 2015, 10:22:47 PM
I think that $300 seemed a bit optimistic. Maybe at the end of September it could hit $250 which is more likely than $300.
363  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Percentage of XT nodes... on: September 01, 2015, 10:21:03 PM
No big surprise at all, most people predicted that the node number would fall since most node were running on free trial VPS's.
364  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: legality of bitcoins in some countries on: September 01, 2015, 10:17:45 PM
Why do some countries bann the use of bitcoins and make it illegal to obtain them in their country.

Because some countries think that bitcoin is an invention of the U.S government in order to control the financial market of certain countries. Russia and Venezuela are 2 countries that actually think that bitcoin is a U.S government innovation, so they decided to ban/restrick it.
365  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: legal action against scamming ponzis on: September 01, 2015, 10:15:49 PM
Yes you can take legal action against ponzi operators as long as you know who exactly operated it. You will also need accurate evidence that the person operate the ponzi scheme, before taking any legal action.

That is true however good luck in finding who exactly operated it most hide with fake details, ip addresses, VPN proxy and then some or run them on servers and domains like http://www.goldcoders.com/ no doubt will host or provide you details on how to run a successful scam as they ran for many years providing the scripts to make them. Even some of the biggest ones running didn't find but governments closed the site down or got them suspended. Some have indeed been found out but took a long time to do so but even then and have seen no justice was served.
Yep, its always a tricky situation with ponzi schemes. That's why I think that bitcointalk should ban any ponzi scheme activity from this forums. More scams will just hurt the bitcoin reputation and image.
366  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-09-01] NewsBTC: Spells of Genesis Beats All Crowdsale Goals on: September 01, 2015, 10:13:28 PM
Well I hope that they will actually deliver a good are game and a halve backed buggy game and then run away with the funds. The game has potential since it will use unique technologies.
367  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-09-01] Ex-Federal agent admits stealing $820,000 in bitcoin in Silk Road c on: September 01, 2015, 10:11:44 PM
This guy either was too much of a newb to figure out how to mix the coins or assumed he had all his bases covered in terms of thinking his actions were beyond an investigative protocol. Now, he just blew his career and screwed his family over, both financially and in shame.
I don't think so, even a 15 years old tech savvy kid knows how to mix coins. The agent probably knew that the Feds will find out about his theft and decided to rather turn himself so his sentence will be reduced. Tax dodgers do the same so they have to pay smaller fines.
368  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying with cash is more anonymous than purchasing with BTC? on: September 01, 2015, 10:08:38 PM
Cash is more anonymous. Computers always leave traces.

I agree, computers will too much trace now days. The best anonymous payment method will always be cash .
369  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wrong time to invest in bitcoin with the confusion? on: September 01, 2015, 10:06:11 PM
I think that this is probably the best time to invest into bitcoin. The price is low and is stable at $180, the price can either fall a bit or get higher than now which is more likely.
370  Other / Off-topic / Re: if you entered your wallet and you found 50BTC what you will do ? on: September 01, 2015, 10:03:37 PM
you found 50BTC transacted from someone that you dont know what you will do ?
for me i will refund it
and type a note :
dude, your money is not a toy...
tips are welcomed Smiley
--------------------------------------------
what you will do ?
and if you asked him for a tip do you think he will accept ?
or will send some of it only ?

I would try to identify the owner of that wallet by taking a close look to the recent transactions. If I somehow found the owner I would hand him his bitcoin back . But if I cousin't find the owner I would just hold the coins for the future.
371  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you trust the miners? on: September 01, 2015, 10:01:25 PM
I'm not sure I trust the miners to make decisions that will benefit the entire bitcoin community instead of just the miners right now.

Exactly, the miners only care about their profits. They don't actually care about bitcoin or the bitcoin community. The only thing they want is to mine bitcoin and sell them for a  profit, nothing else.
372  Economy / Economics / Re: What can greece central bank do? on: September 01, 2015, 09:58:36 PM
They can't do much. The whole situation with Greece will implode  in the future. The EU will keep lending money until the rest of the EU gets fed up and starts Riot in order to block further loans to Greece. Only the people can stop this whole mess, but since people get a paycheck, house, car etc they won't care at all once one of this is in risk to disappear the people will wake up and say enough is enough with the greek loans.
373  Economy / Economics / Re: How Bitcoin Makes Banks Obsolete on: September 01, 2015, 09:54:48 PM
Bitcoin is still years behind making banks absolute. Go to your local grocery store and try to pay with bitcoin, they simply don't know what bitcoin is and reject it. Bitcoin is still to new and unknown in order to make banks obsolete.
374  Economy / Economics / Re: Low BTC price is good for Bitcoins at the moment. on: September 01, 2015, 09:52:26 PM
Low price of Bitcoins will attract new people to join the rally, now that a lot more people can afford to buy a ''Full Bitcoin''

I think that a stable price would be better for bitcoin. Neither a low and high price would be good for bitcoin, a stable price would be the best thing for ass adoption.
375  Economy / Economics / Re: Stock Market Crash =\= Bitcoin Surge on: September 01, 2015, 09:50:52 PM
Because, if a stock market crash happens USD will be affected and since BTC is tied to USD  Bitcoin would lose value. But its all poor speculation by economists.
376  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling. Is It Wrong? on: September 01, 2015, 09:49:08 PM

Share your story here guys!  Grin Grin Grin

Never forget the one rule of gambling , "The house ALWAYS wins" . The same thing applies to bitcoin gambling, the house always wins in the end.
377  Economy / Economics / Re: Google Ad Revenue on: September 01, 2015, 09:47:33 PM
I think it's a crock of shit. Anybody agree?

Every douchebag with an iphone color wants to be the next pewdiepie and have a giant corporation pay them for buying viewbots.

All the people watching that garbage are wasting their life en mass.

Maybe a virtual currency forum isn't the best place to garner support for that sentiment....

What's a "pewdiepie"?

You're bitching about Google Ads, but they're not really they're just capitalizing on the ridiculousness that is advertising and what companies believe brings customers to their sites. Maybe they're shitty for providing an opportunity for ads to be pushed in front of us constantly on websites (that's another debate). But they're not producing the ad content, they just rent out space.

And they pay by either views to a page or clicks to the ad - pretty logical.

What's really, really crazy is that companies actually pay Google (and therefore site owners) for page views. How many pages have you looked at and ignored every single ad? Thousands I'm sure. It's a complete waste of money and a largely ineffective way to advertise.

Everyone's looking for passive income...do you blame the guy who pays for the service (the company advertising), the guy providing an infrastructure for that service (Google), or the guy who rents out his website real estate for the ads?

I have an opinion, but I'd prefer to know yours.

According to you all companies who advertise through google adsense program are waste of money or they do not know the marketing strategy is it?

Paid advertising is a great way to guide more traffic to your site or product to increase your business leads. If companies don't make a profit from these advertisement then surely they will stop. Another thing as of now pay per click advertising programs the best one the google advertising others may be cheap but you won't get good quality leads.

Another point is google adsense program advertisers pay only for ads clicks not for page views

Marketing through google, facebook and other social media is a pretty sweet investment considering how much attention other sources get you like television and radio, they are much costlier and I think social media marketing and advertising is the most effective economical solution to marketing needs. A lot of advertisers receive profit from their ad investment, I am one of such people Smiley Oh, and google also paid on page views, depending on the content.

I agree, google adwords and Facebook ads are a really great way to advertise online. So most companies like Google and Facebook profit from people like pewdiepie since they bring traffic to their sites and so they can sell traffic to advertisers.
378  Economy / Economics / Re: What happens to the price of gold if 300 tons are dumped on the market? on: September 01, 2015, 09:44:11 PM
Let us say that the Nazi train in Poland is real, and it contains 300 tons of gold, and it is dumped.  How much would this effect the price of gold?

I don't think that all of that gold would be instantly be dumped at once. It would probably affect the price for a couple months since it has a huge volume. But I think that Poland will actually rather store that gold than sell it.
379  Economy / Services / Re: Selling eBay Accounts on: September 01, 2015, 09:29:41 PM
First off all this is wrong place please move it to the Digital service section. It belongs to that section

I agree, a moderator should move this thread to the digital goods section since OP is selling a digital good and not a service.
380  Economy / Services / Re: Do you Want to Advertise YOUR Banner/ Text add/ Review @1$ on: September 01, 2015, 09:27:32 PM
If you are Looking for these ads Please send me a PM will give you Best rates If Possible. You will get more than 1000+ Traffic daily If you Post your ads on 4+ Sites

May I ask , is the traffic organic or is it just bot traffic? What it the bounce rate of that traffic, will the traffic stay for 10 seconds and then never come back ?
