121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: November 26, 2013, 06:27:11 AM
None of that matters. You simply do the math for when your miners will stop being profitable (when you'd stop mining), and instead buy btc and hold until that time. You will always end up more profitable that way than if you buy hardware to mine.
I didn't do this the first time and instead bought miners from KnC. I will now be lucky if I make half as much btc as I could have if I just bought it at the time I placed my order. The only true winners in the mining game are those who make the miners. The rest are just chumps regardless of how you try and spin it.

Except that i can spend 4000$ (5 BTC) to buy a miner that nets 15+ BTC over a few months Smiley

Also a friendly reminder that selling BTC will get your ass raped by the IRS as it is an automatically reported transaction on several levels.

If the exchanges are getting geared for the rules they are going to have to follow they will have to give you annual reports of your gains or losses for tax purposes
122  Economy / Speculation / Re: All time high on Gox! Achieved on: November 18, 2013, 04:11:22 PM
Good god. This post was started 11 day ago, at 266. Stop and think about that for a moment.

149 rise in a 24 hour period if that is what the low is based on, somethings bound to be coming no one likes
123  Economy / Speculation / Re: anyone staying awake all night tonight in fear of the big crash? on: November 18, 2013, 04:06:41 PM
Picture was stolen off twitter...thought that was obvious. Did not expect that much reaction.

MB, this is the thing. Im pretty sure some people are actually doing it in order to keep up and try to cash out if this is a bubble. I need weed to calm me down they need coke or speed to keep up. hehe
124  Economy / Speculation / Re: anyone staying awake all night tonight in fear of the big crash? on: November 18, 2013, 11:28:54 AM
its looks like speed , you can see on he's bear shoes he cant affort cocaine.

cant be speed with that many lines railed out. not unless he's just looking to geek for a week. with a major fucking crash afterwards "no pun intended to the market"
125  Economy / Speculation / Re: Cashed out before the crash. on: November 18, 2013, 11:26:54 AM
I ended up pulling a dba and writing off all my equipment as a business expense. but when I decide to cash out ill be able to write off all my equipment.
126  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much of a bubble is this? on: November 18, 2013, 10:36:19 AM
I wish I could hold my money bit I have to cash out Smiley. I invested when the coins where 120 dollars . Now I can start my dream job finally. I'm opening few webshops wich I will accept bitcoins! Thanks bitcoin to start my life Smiley

how many other threads are you going to repeat this in?

Anyway it is nice to have few next places to spend Bitcoins on. I was worrying the price rise is just pure speculation, but it can drive the Bitcoin useability at web shops as well

if I was a webshop I wouldn't be able to accept btc with the large fluctuation in price. it would have to be imediant conversion into cash or I could lose my ass. purchase a product at 3 a lb and then sell at 3.75 just a few points moving puts me at a loss.

Saturn purchasers losing $100 per day because of delays
Jupiter purchasers losing $200 per day because of delays

No employees of KNC to be found.

No orders after order #19xx or pay date June 10th have shipped

Clearly there has been a huge gap in the shipping process. Seems like the line has stopped for many days.

Still calling for anyone who actually works for the company to show their face and tell us what is going on.

I was a june 10th order, got mine last week Monday

130  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Whats your average speed of jupiter or saturn on: October 13, 2013, 10:22:47 PM
I opened mine just to put a box fan on it, it was running about 240 before put box fan and I run high 250 to low 260 gig, so cooling makes a big difference.
131  Bitcoin / Hardware / Whats your average speed of jupiter or saturn on: October 13, 2013, 04:22:03 PM
I have a 200 gig sat that runs a consistant 260 using the .90 firmware I was a second or third day shipping so I have boards that have 8 vmr

132  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: BitStamp Account. 3BTC for 2.75BTC on: October 10, 2013, 02:35:52 PM
I am currently having the same problem with bitstamp . and worse thing is I am giving them all my legit information and they are not accepting it. I think they have figured out a way to keep peoples bitcoin. you cant verify well you cant have when you give up over time they close your account and they keep.

That's just my personal opinion
133  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: BFGMiner 3.2.1: modular ASIC/FPGA, GBT, Strtm, RPC, Lnx/OpnWrt/PPA/W64, BE Blade on: October 08, 2013, 04:25:18 PM
im trying to go back to bfgminer from easyminer to see if there is a better performance and less hardware errors. When I open up bfgminer it says something about faild to soething opencl library. then the getcomport comes up 2 times.

then I putin url, user and pass. after hitting enter the mining software pauses for a second like its trying to write the cfg file and then I get a error that says this program has stopped responding.

I am on a 64 bit version of windows but have tried both versions, is there any idea what might cause this error?

I have tried running as admin but that did not seem to help.
134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 03, 2013, 12:23:48 AM
If it were not for Bitcoinorama, I would have surely gone nutz by now being in the dark as they say... I for one vote that O'rama gets a Jupiter for the service he has provided us in behalf of KNC    He has weathered the storm thru thick & thin

LOL, what service has he provided? Distracting us from the fact that shipping in September went to October.

He tried to share what he saw PERSONALLY.
So we could decide what we were going to do with more info.

KnC are great at ASICs, piss poor at logistics. Not his fault.
Most other vendors would be shipping you a .psd in this timeframe.

He didn't provide a service, it was a favour. To us and to KnC (who aren't exactly the best at communication either).

My only criticism is that he can't box up worth a wank...you always make sure that tape sticks to itself and not just the edges of the cardboard which is very weak as it's designed to adhere to tape. I hope none bust out and get damaged because of that...that would be such a bad thing for the lack of a few seconds taping securely.

Hahahaha, those pictures of boxes, asses and people in white coats surely are a relief to me.

His box skills are lacking, I agree with that. He needs to twist the tape dispenser slightly left or right when he wants it to cut. If it that cardboard is recycled the tape will probably peel off.

WTF, Cratiquing or how ever its spelt how they tape the boxes?
135  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: KNC, 100% of their hashing is currently going into their own pocket. on: October 01, 2013, 04:16:55 PM
Ok so let me clear a few things up from this side;

Firstly I have no beef with GMaxwell, he's always been prompt at responding to any issues I have raised where I have had the need to contact him. Last was a spelling mistake I think and he was v.sharp to correct and courteous. MiningBuddy has been equally proactive and polite.

Secondly, all prior testing was performed on the testnet as appropriate, however when it comes to actual proof to real customers that the product stands up and performs over a longer period it had to be to an account. Andreas and Sam are not desperate for a few hours worth of mining, and honestly it went to Vitali, the software engineer who finally resolved the bugs that had plagued them throughout the day. Seeing as he had only stood up to walk in a circle a couple of times in 24 hours, I doubt anyone would begrudge him that. Miner is offline now and being reviewed/optimised, whilst acceptable production is focused upon.

Thirdly, despite openly stating they will mine with upto 5% of what they manufacture, they aren't. If at any-point they do, it will be unlikely to occur prior to November's shipment. Quite simply they have sold all available boxes. They had to make a call as to what makes more long term sense. Ensure you have sufficient funds to progress with future generations, whilst ensuring there is a proportional float of chips in case of hardware error, returns, etc. The issue with selling out concerned the controller boards, and where the hell they ended up last week almost ruined what was achieved yesterday. More on that later, but in any case Mercury uses the same number of controller boards as Jupiter, one, but only one ASIC.

Finally aside the dev boxes and prototype board revisions, which will lead to an iterative ongoing improvement with respect t hardware, the only device in KnC's possession to 'mine for themselves' will be in the office foyer, and all coins generated from that will be going direct to charity. Which charity? Sam asked me to find one that accepts Bitcoins. I replied why not choose a known and respected one that has yet to adopt Bitcoins and kill two birds with one stone, by having another worth cause adopt Bitcoins as a payment avenue. Isn't there one close to your heart before I call around? And he stated that his little girl, now 2 years old, spent her first 56 days in intensive care at Sweden's Karolinska Institutet - Dept of Women's and Children's health - Neonatology - as she was born 8 weeks premature. This is one of the world's finest Neonatology wards and he feels indebted to them.

That depends, where are you wanting to keep the money in the EU or the states, I have one that my business supports.

Do you have any proof for this..

proof of the no refunds being offered, yes I do, its on the first page. if ya didn't skim the thread like I sometimes do you would see the big huge pic of the email I posted.

I didn't know I could get a short term loan to cover the taxes, ill investigate that tomorrow. but I've got shitty credit. :-/ but if the bank will allow the assets of the estate to be used as collateral they should say yes. if they wont, I know what the answer will be.

are you fucking kidding me? I posted that ages ago on this thread. I am really concerned for sanity.... You even quoted some of that post....  Roll Eyes

Maybe it's a Texas thing.

Hey cage, Thanks for the advice, I went to bank and after about 20 mins they was trying to approve me for the full 30k needed and I upset them with asking for the 12k I wanted. it sucks though I sold almost 100 coins and kept 10 for me. :-/ but I guess all's well that ends well.

Does this mean the Saturn will have improved speeds also? I keep hearing about the Jupiter.

im not sure if anyone noticed what was said to me when I called them Friday when I posted but the3y told me I should have in 1-2 weeks. which means they will mostlikely be late.
