A technical glitch allowed users to buy #Bitcoin at $6,000 yesterday on the PDAX - Philippine Digital Assets Exchange. Anyone here got lucky?

I like Duterte but gotta say this covid thing has been run very poorly in the Philippines. An already precarious economy has been absolutely REKT, middle / low income class in particular - let alone tourism and hotels.

I would like to help this country by investing much more money in my BPO but at present state the people are still way behind in terms of education and technological prowness. Duterte has been great for this country's security and decrease of corruption however the Filipinos need also to do an extra step and keep on par with the dynamic nature of the hypertechnological world we live in.

Thanks guys for trying to help. Unfortunate that the situation is still this stagnant in Manila (let alone the rest of the country).

This coin is such an obvious scam. Just look at the distribution: Sergey has all the LINKs and will sell them on suckers like you. All he did successfully was market this scam into /biz, which is now a shell of its past full of pajeets and XRP shills.

|
|
|
Why not try receiving XRP instead?
Because XRP is a scam and holding it will cost you way more than you "save" in cheaper tx fees.

What are the main businesses in Manila currently accepting crypto as direct payment? Anything really - coffee shops, groceries, cars, gold, houses, hotel bookings and so forth.
Would be good if there was one single web page in English keeping an up to date list of those. - free advertisement for those shops who would be keen to get listed on the page once running - good resource for international crypto travellers - promoting crypto adoption (for what it's worth) in the country - website operator would profit from say shilling reflinks or top ad solutions for shops willing to pay some extra for added visibility
Unless there's already something like that?

I just hope bitcoin will be accepted soon, but with the big fee we are witnessing now, it might take some time or we might need some 3rd party to middle and to make the transaction affordable to everyone.
A third party making txs cheaper? This is downright nonsense. It's not nonsense, because if people will adopt a lightning network, transaction will be faster and cheaper, and I consider it as a 3rd party. Do I make sense now? You're referring to second layer technology then, not exactly a third party but yes, that could significantly cut fees. Current state is unusable though for the masses, impractical. My view is that bitcoin is not intended to be for dust transactions. There's fiat for that.

I am not a Filipino, I just happen to be there for biz. So with Gcash and Paymaya I would have to load them up losing on coins.ph conversion rate and fees right?
But how do Gcash and Paymaya allow people to spend cryptos? are people provided by them of a bitcoin address which when loaded automatically converts in php that goes into the card? I guess no.

Where can I get one in Manila? Do they need KYC and FIlipino nationality or anyone can just pay and get one?

Interesting thread. Honestly I've never ever seen a "bitcoin accepted" sign anywhere in the Philippines. Any list of shops accepting btc payments in Manila?
EDIT I clicked on some of the links in the OP and almost all of them are associated with promotion of scammy coins such as xrp, bch, steem, "yolocoin" whatever that is. SAD!
I have a negative opinion on XRP. But, even if I put that aside, we cannot argue that XRP is a highly volatile speculative asset. Now why would you push this rubbish to hard working shop owners who have possibly poor understanding of cryptos? This is irresponsible and counterproductive, it furthers increases the divide in the country between us crypto people and the 99..9% of the rest who understands jackshit of it all and is very susceptible to jump to conclusions like "crypto is a scam". Wouldn't argue with that if what they refer to are XRP BCH and yolochain.
