Dev,
How many individuals have claimed cda so far? How many individuals have not claimed cda so far?
Any awareness push among Canadian citizens on your part?
Thank you.
thanks for asking... Canadian claimants have been disappointing. Less than 50 signups to date. Money was spent on facebook ads, press releases were made for the Airdrop and there has been active push on our facebook and twitter pages, as well as some SEO work done for organic search results. We have an Ambassador Rewards (aka Affiliate reward program) to help users spread the word. Users get 147 coins for each referral that also signs up. We need to find an innovative way to disperse hundreds of millions of coins to Canadians for free. Open to your feedback, and involvement if you want to help push things along. Unable to verify my identity using a Quebec area code (438) in your form. Could be the issue of a few of us. thanks for letting us know, I'll get that added to the list...not sure how we missed it ok, your 438 area code should be active now, please give it anothe try and let me know if any issues...sorry Montreal/Quebec!

You should have first a good market exchange like cryptsy or mintpal..... canadacoin is not active enough on market (not visible as well) The wallet is really too slow (time) to initiate.
The POS is really a problem, because you cannot let you wallet open. If you let open your wallet the POS system generates thousand of transaction into your wallet and the effect is to block your CPU to the ceiling (actually I fight with 22000 transaction into my wallet because I have left my wallet open 24/7 to help...). The result is: I have 130000 coin in 22000 dust coins. To consolidate I have to send to myself not more than 1000 coin at a time because if I try more the transaction fail for unexpected size.
It needs also more communication with the bitcoin community.
thanks for feedback. it's a catch 22 with bigger exchanges, they don't want to add unless you have good following, and it's hard to get a good following unless you on a big exchange. Well, we are certainly not the only POS coin out there, so I'm guessing that we are facing the same issues as others with regard to the proliferation of "dust coin". Is anyone aware of how other POS coins are dealing with this?

Probably more relevant when POW mining transactions were still incoming to wallet, but generally speaking, I think still a good practice, is too always first sync wallet before staking. I had to learn this lesson when some of my POW coins got "stuck" in the blockchain and didn't show up in my wallet. Had to download blockchain from scratch to "loosen up" those coins. Thanks Chris for your help to get it sorted out : )
thanks for the tip..and also don't forget to backup wallet before ( to a location off your computer) and encyrpted in case something ever goes wrong with your computer or wallet

For those that missed the POW mining phase and want to get some free CDA (everyone, not just Canadians) http://coinok.pw/faucet/cda/50,000 CDA loaded from the airdrop funds limit to one pull per hour

Proof of Work for CanadaCoin has now ended. There's still a couple of people mining at the Official Pool. Folks, you're wasting hash rate cuz there ain't no more blocks to me mined... move your rigs to another coin/pool! Everyone should now withdraw your coins to a personal wallet or exchange. Thanks, again, to all who mined at the Official Pool! Regards, Chris yes, the POW has now ended...POS blocks will continue of course for all those who have coins. thanks for all your assistance with the pool, Chris!

@canadacoin147: I'll respond to your questions about my air drop in a minute, but first.... we should enter into 100% POS later today! mine your CanadaCoin while you can.
You're right! I hadn't noticed that. There's 514,800 blocks for PoW and we're currently on block 514,284 or so. So, PoW mining is going to end in the next few hours. I'll be leaving the Official Pool up and running for awhile after we go to pure PoS so that folks can withdraw their coins to a wallet or exchange. If you have a very large balance on the Pool, please withdraw your coins in small batches (5,000 CDA or less per withdrawal) as there have been problems with large withdrawals. And, of course, if you do have problems with a withdrawal let me know at pool_op[at]canadacoin.org and I'll help you out. Finally, plenty of advance notice will be given when we do finally shutdown the Pool, but it's a good idea to withdraw your coins soon after we go to pure PoS. Thanks, again, to everyone who's mined with us! Regards, Chris note: POW blocks should end at 518400, not 514800

hey chris, can you check again. your airdrop was sent on Jan 2 along with everyone else's. I can look up the transaction details if you like, but I keep the computer with airdrop wallet offline and powered down for added security.
I haven't seen a large deposit, but I've been having major problems with my wallet staying in sync. New blocks are coming in faster than my wallet can process them so I'm always behind. Right now, I'm at block 492539 with 44542 blocks behind. So, don't worry about the airdrop right now. Maybe it's just not been processed in my wallet yet? Regards, Chris yes, once we hit POS mode, wallets will catch up, and out of sync issues will be a thing of the past. I've confirmed that Txn was sent to you from the airdrop wallet.

Nothing received here, yet, but I do know that folks have received the airdrop as I've seen screen shots of wallets. Hope mine arrives soon...

im having issues with the windows wallet. downloaded it today. it will sync a few blocks and hang up and then i have to restart the wallet to make it start syncing again. it this rate i may be able to sync it in 12 or 14 hours with hundreds of restarts
I've done a clean download and install to test and it is working fine for me. THe block is quite large, because of the fast block time, so yes it will take a while. sorry, I'm not sure why that could be happening for you.

Only 3 days left till Canada Day! We've now completed a more streamlined and faster verification process for Canadians to claim their coins at http://www.canadacoin.org/canada-day-airdrop-signup/There are now 4 verification options: 1. SMS to Canadian number 2. Voice call verification to Canadian number 3. Document upload for Canadian citizens 4. Document upload for Canadian residents. Information on forms is all encrypted on server. We are also providing a 2000 CDA bonus to the first 1000 Canadians to sign up, retroactive. In addtion, anyone who signs up is automatically enrolled in our Ambassador Rewards program which provides them with an affiliate link to send out on Facebook, Twitter, email etc that will earn them 147 coins for each referral that also signs up. You are the first to hear about it! Thanks for your support. We'll be ramping up PR this weekend. Any feedback, please do let me know.

We are gearing up here for a major PR efforts in the next week, which we are investing 1BTC in this effort, which should give us good exposure through major Canadian and International media, as well as Bitcoin news services.
Also in process:
1. Adding SMS mobile validation on the CanadaDay AirDrop signup, in place of the document upload, which has been a major friction point. 2. Adding Ambassador Rewards Program to the above, so that everyone who signs up will be able to get 75 additional coins for each friend that they invite that joins- sharing by direct URL, embedded URL, facebook, twitter and linkedin. 3. Adding a social media enabled faucet so that anyone, not just Canadians can earn coins by Facebook and Twitter share.
If anyone wants to step forward to take on the bigger exchanges, please PM me. Will be a very good bounty for direct efforts in getting us listed.
