Bitcoin will not change the world by being conservative. Bitcoin will change the world by being bold. I vote 'pro'.

microtransactions can happen offchain. Why would they need to be on chain?
...
It's not your storage but the storage of the people on their systems. Maybe that's why you like to waste it?

You can save peer storage only if the microtransactions are done in some centralized service, but why you deny people to use cryptocurrency for their microtransactions?

If you cant afford to dedicate the harddisk space for blockchain, well you can run some lite client instead...

certainly don't deny people to use crypto for micro stuff, but maybe the bitcoin chain isn't the right place for that. Reddcoin or dogecoin comes to mind ...

I don't want a lite-version. Why should i use a liteversion and get centralised network and a cartel so that everyone can send their 5cent transactions?

Your argument (in case it was one) is invalid.
503  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin 20MB Fork on: February 04, 2015, 09:21:30 AM
1st: the limit isn't even reached
2nd: reaching the limit will not render bitcoin unuseable, instead there will be a healthy market for txs and fees and some txs will happen on altchains - so what?
3rd: no effort has been undertaken to get rid of all the spammy micro-stuff, if that would be done you wouldn't even need to talk about that for another year or two or even three

i can't see why it's needed to fork especially with all the risks involved and with the costs of bad press (you already have it), pushing out noobs (already happens), slowing adoption (happens), loosing trust from the user (happened).

Gavin is basically producing some horseshit and we are forced to discuss it until we can't hear it anymore. All the internet talking about this shit. Someone tell the man his priorities. He obviously can't identify them. Gavin is horrible PR. Hide him under a rock.
504  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin 20MB Fork on: February 04, 2015, 09:12:10 AM
microtransactions can happen offchain. Why would they need to be on chain? What percentage of txs are micro? I guess most.

Gavins' approach is:
-alienating
-wasteful with recouces (storage)
-inefficient
-lowers security
-brings in more centralisation
-causes trouble because it's very controversal

i have no idea how anyone in their right minds can vote for this without even demanding alternative proposals

It's not your storage but the storage of the people on their systems. Maybe that's why you like to waste it?

I don't know about Unbreakable, but I did see a coin that made me laugh just from the name - Unattainium.  Good job Unattainium devs, I'm sure that one will catch on and have a bright future.  The name already told me everything I need to know about the coin, no further research necessary.

lol, yes. Unattainium started out with 3 hours blocks. It was a joke from the start  Cheesy
I think it's dead for a while now.
They also launched 'Uranium' now. lol

I saw FallingKnife post on UNB so I was wondering what his take was on that coin

You make an uneasy impression as always. Did you try to message him for his comment and why is it even relevant? Please use private message for your concern or post UNB-related stuff on the UNB-thread. Thanks!
508  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Current wallet 0.9.5 on: February 03, 2015, 06:49:19 PM
Is there any estimate how many members UNO community has?  Huh
As far as I know, I am astonished on the number of passive wallets in UNO community.
If you browse through top 100 wallet adresses, there are more than enough wallets that have been passive for months, some even more than 1 year.
Looks like a huge part of UNOs are located in strong hands.

it's 12000 active wallets so should be at least 1000 people, maybe up to 3000
Holding Uno longterm does make sense so it's no surprise seeing people doing that.  Wink

Non-zero Balance Addresses    = 14038

Uno community isn't that small at all.

Something like 20 pages back ... since then we call the dumpsters potato traders  Wink

I'm swamped at work. But wanted to pop in and say Hey!  Keep it up! This is the place to be crypto, and its nice to see all the new names here.

So the thread is pushing 300 page now!

And we're on the cusp of the anniversary of the Wolong pump!  is that, Feb 7?   Do you think Wolong will make an appearance, just for ol' times sake? Smiley  Fyrstikken has been calling him out in his sad videos, so who knows. Lol.

I can sense the level of sarcasm, OP is trying to achieve by making this post.  Grin
It's satire, not sarcasm.

no man, it's as legit as any other foundation (i don't sense a joke here - it may look like one but it really isn't one, it's an anarchist reaction to TBF)
Looks like fun and is fun. But it really isn't a joke, i think. It's what you/we make of it.
Well, maybe you can also look at it as satire kind of. Yes, sure is. But doesn't mean no real foundational body could come in existance from this.

One thing it is not is a joke. The real joke is TBF.

Satire maybe yes but not mainly. Satire is the sideeffect.

514  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Attention Cryptsy Users: Somethings Very Wrong With Cryptsy Lately. Be Advised. on: February 03, 2015, 02:30:55 AM
I at least give poloniex credit for de-listing certain coins that are over the top garbage.

Then why do they list them in the first place?  While Bittrex gives advance notice, "This coin will be delisted in 2 weeks if the daily volume does not exceed .2 BTC", Poloniex sells you a coin and the next day they say they're delisting it, no discussion, no warning.  In December Poloniex announced 17 delistings in one day of coins that apparently weren't worth having - which was over 10% of all their coins.  And why?  To make room for new crap that they will eventually delist.

All of these exchanges are in bed with the scamcoin and shitcoin creators - all of them. Some exchanges even make own coins. There is no exception. All of the exchanges are corrupt.

Thank you for your reply!
We might indeed see a dip and if it starts getting lower it is only buying opportunity but as it is said, 0.01 is something that may not happen in near future. But, in case it happens it is indeed good to have 2-5 btc waiting in reserves.
It is funny that people pay attention only on TOP 10 or 20 Cryptos. Those people end up making money the least percent wise. For example, buying just btc is pure waste of money and time unless you do not buy UNO with your btc. Mere bitcoins are too risky even after it has dropped 80-90 %. Realistically bitcoin can drop another 80-90 % before we have reached the bottom.
Turtle seem to be a good choice. I consider UNO the benchmark coin.

That's right. UNO could be king altcoin.
Litecoin is very, very similar to bitcoin. Uno is a real alternative.
Should be established and will find many buyers later after sticking around at higher cap. No doubt about it.
Smaller caps are more risky. Most people only daytrade and not invest. Most just play swings on larger coins. They will like Uno especially when it can show to maintain high cap and growth and be resilient other than most coins.  Wink
I think Uno can reach critical mass and more people should be able to trust it at some point. Once people understand the idea, they will be very interested.
I think Uno has a bright future.

@Charlie:
Paycoin, omg! What a huge scam. I'm just glad i didn't buy into it. How long will it be until its cap dropped below Uno? Weeks?

Things like paycoin bring in regulation.

A small bitcoin pump is incoming. Maybe you're lucky and can grab a sellwall when it pops up or some little dumps from people who want bitcoin.  Wink

BTW, when will potato man run out of potatoes?

i think he is saving up a bit  Roll Eyes

you can see: at cryptsy is still selling going on - also on trex. So if you are patient you can buy a lot more at these prices.
I'd recommend not moving the price up a lot until the lake hasn't been dried up at this level. I sense some impatient people on the buy and on the sellside.  Wink

My buy orders are waiting to get dumped (0.012 and 0.01225). However looks like I am not going to get coins at those orders.
I agree on patience.
The price should be higher to attract the big money buyers who do not bother invest in low prices since the their pouring of 10 000 USD will make the price rise quite high.
I see 0.01 and below unrealistic but I might be wrong, too.

I also think below 0.01 has become unrealistic (but you never know). The longer a coin trades in a certain range the more stable it is in that range. Yes, most people will only pay attention to bigger marketcaps, that's correct.
sounds like you have a good plan  Smiley

Core-tanium should be used AFTER a dump, not before.  Thoughts?

correct

I'm also sitting on the backseat with btc ready to catch falling knifes. Everything below 0.01 is a buy to me.
So core-tanium has some backup of course.

People shouldn't get too excited too fast. Some meditation and patience is good too. Uno can with no problem trade sideways without much volatility - we have seen that many times now.
If you buy it up too fast you just attract dumpers. I seen a sellwall flashing when btc went up so we have still passangers who are willing to sell for a rising bitcoin. In case btc gets a little pump you could maybe get some bargains again Wink

And don't forget the cryptsy-potatoeman

Slow rise is always best so sellers have always time to make up their mind and sell over time if they want to. Stability is trump. Never go full retard Wink
