hashrate and difficulty trippled  Shocked
522  Economy / Speculation / Re: Yes, I care for the price of bitcoin. (Explain how you feel). on: February 01, 2015, 11:57:54 AM
I don't give shat about bitchcoin aka Gavinshitcoin anymore! Not a single fuck! And Litecoin has me betrayed today also! But you know what? Quark is holding strong! Ixc did a jump 100% yesterday with a large buy-in and UNO is rising since 6  months took another jump yesterday - it is actually even rising against the USD.
And you know what these coins have in commen? Low inflation, motherfucker! Screw these inflation shitcoins! They use a lot electricity and there is no profit in them!

Fuck these coins that can go down for years due to heavy oversupply! All they have is high hashrate - AND THAT'S IT. I'm done with shitcoins like Gavincoins and Litecoins! DONE!

I do hold Bitcoin only to buy up the dips on the low inflation ones. I'm so over it, believe me.

Do you know Iocoin (the old one)? Nobody is interested in it normally. There is no community to support it really but guess what!? IT'S RISING MOTHERFUCKER! And it's a low inflation coin!
The days of inflationary crypto are numbered! DONE! FINITO! OVER! Get out while you can.

The low inflation ones are more stable too - merchants will adopt these coins in the future. #justsayin'
First mover does mean jack shit! Low volatility, sustained marketcap, and no miner dumps - that's where the ball is at now!
Don't put too much hopes in bitcoin. Better diversify in fiat and low supply coins.

Demand in low supply coins is going to spark and then it's full moon baby ... Bitcoin will be left in the dust.
Bitcoin is high supply, low demand and the game now shifts to low supply and when these have high demand you will kick yourself for not getting in when they were underrated.

To summarize:
I am frustrated with the market for bitcoin and frustrated with how people seem not to be ablle to count 1 and 1 together.
But i know i don't suffer as much as others probably do because i learned to be a bear on inflation and a bull on low supply. So i managed to to stay in the black. I can just imagine what kind of losses some people must have.
I would welcome some profit. The sooner people understand bitcoin is a hopeless case the better. Buy into low inflation coins and don't wait for jesus christ or wallstreet to save you!

right, look at this painful market in Bitcoin

man! Why do people even take part in that?

Uno is way better suited for the job.

Watching this bitcoin priceaction gives me pain to my bones.
525  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Current wallet 0.9.5 on: February 01, 2015, 07:52:51 AM
I just saw that Tweet. Is the side-chaining business good for UNO?

If you ask me, we don't need that. It would also screw with the monolythic nature. Will it make Uno a better store of value? (no) Or will it cause blockchain bloat? (yes) Keep it simple.

I think Bryce just wants to hype as usual.

You remember that guy who asked for blocknet implementation? Same retarded neophile mindset.
This space is full of neophiles who flip flop all the time and only fail because nobody thinks a year or two ahead or even intends to be sustainable.
Where is blocknet today? Oh, right. It made 0.2btc volume today and will be delisted next few weeks ...

See this article:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neophile
it links at the bottom to 'low arrousal' theory

We should be concerned with improving security and not with lowering that. Uno is a pure moneytoken and we don't need bells and whistles imo. It is good the way it is. You can build on top of it. You don't need to introduce changes to a perfectly running blockchain.
We have a perfectly stable foundation with this blockchain. It doesn't need change. Build on top of it without a hardfork, dammit!
If you weaken the foundation you do no good. Don't bloat the chain! It's mindblowing compact and small. The extremely small blockchain is a huge sellingpoint in the future. Why screw that?
Sidechains is phony hype at this stage. I want to see it in bitcoin and how it doesn't cause trouble. I think it will cause a lot of trouble.
my 2 cents.

(sorry for ranting but this space is full of neophiles and 99% of things fail. So please let's be conservative a littlebit. The neophiles right now are screwing bitcoin - don't let them screw Uno. So far they screwed everything up they started with that mindset. I'm not against innovation btw but when you have a monolyth you don't hang a sink, a lantern or a birdscage at it.)

Thank you for the reply I like rarity in a coin,I am one of the few in the world that own one 42 coin.Have you a link to your white paper please I now think its worth reading.Again thanks for your time

The whitepaper are the specs.
I'm not aware that one would exist. And why should it? The path is simple, the way is clear.

All the message is in the specs.
527  Economy / Speculation / Re: who are selling at these prices on: February 01, 2015, 04:43:24 AM
Quite simple. People who thinks that price will drop and wants to sell now and buy after some days.
That was the prevailing logic all or most of last year but now it can be dangerous to do so hoping to make a few extra bucks back per coin, especially if you're leveraged. We've come to a point towards the end of the bear's rope where people have to think a little more clearly about self-preservation and not be so fickle or opportunist. The market will turn at some point and likely soon so your undoing could happen while you're in bed or before you know it. It's not worthwhile to chance it at this point and after the last downturn, there's very little to be had on the short market but way more on the upside. Take your pick: missing out or getting your ass squeezed to where you'll never recover anytime soon in your life or stake out a long position for future profit. There's way more upside at this point than downside, unlike 6 months ago. The spectacular shakeouts are already behind us. Shorting now will be the kiss of death.

The problem is that people have been saying this all the way down.  Perhaps there isn't a bottom?  It irks me when people make such strong statements about a highly volatile investment.  There are a lot of gullible people out there who use forums to guide their financial decisions, unfortunately ..

the sustainable price with the 3600 coins/day is way below 200$
528  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Current wallet 0.9.5 on: January 31, 2015, 03:07:40 AM
[Making sure that new members can acquire a reasonable stake is in the best long term interest and valuation of Uno, imo.   Newcomers will shun a dead and illiquid market, and that doesn't produce demand. The more people with a financial & emotional attachment to Uno, the better for Uno long term, and the better for the value of Uno.

At a higher price more coins could come to the market again. Right now you have to sell yours, i can't sell mine, sorry  Grin

Low supply is a specialty of this coin. So what do you expect?  Roll Eyes

It's illiquid on the sellside because the price the buyers make is just ridiculus. There can still be coins had on cryptsy if you're not looking for a ton or more.

Because value is potentially unlimited people will be as happy with 5$ coins as they will be with3$ coins. And later people will buy for 10$ gladly. At 50$ it's still a bargain.
529  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Current wallet 0.9.5 on: January 28, 2015, 10:21:05 PM
Bitcoin crashing hard.
Sitting in Uno is better than sitting in BTC

BTC bearmarket is infinate. It looks like it really has a problem there. I don't see it recover fast.

@Benefactor

BTC at 600$+?
That's operating costs of 2.16 Million USD every day. The money isn't there to support that. Uno at 600$+ is more likely (costs 9k$ in a day)

2.16 million vs 9000

Seller being impatient and dump. Very good. Path is clear again.

Dumping for Bitcoin crash, huh? Genius move Mr. seller  Roll Eyes

Every time Cryptsy draws from the cold wallet, they move all of the coins to a new cold wallet address.
The wallet had been marked as Cryptsy in the past, but these guys are drawing the Uno out of it so fast that I gave up trying to mark it.

It could be 1000 people with with 44 coins each, or Wolong with a huge stash.  It's probably somewhere in bet ween. I'm surprised to see it below 23% now. But you know.... what can you do. It's cryptsy. We'll have to get Bigvern drunk one of these days and find out more about it.

But I think this is impressive: checkout the "last change" dates on the top 10 wallets. Lots of them have not moved for 200 to nearly 400 days! Uno doesn't turn over the way other coins do. It's a long term hold.

*pic*

there are wallets which have not moved since 2013

lots of wallets in top 100 approaching 1 year untouched. That's what a store of value coin looks like. No BS.

536  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Current wallet 0.9.5 on: January 26, 2015, 10:17:27 PM

What's more special about UNO, besides that the no 1 bagholder almost holds a quarter of all coins?

the no1 bagholder is cryptsy coldstorage. Duh!
why so big, people prefer letting their coins at cryptsy instead of in their own wallet?

We don't like that too but it's probably not only one person but a few. We are busy draining it empty over time (what else can you do?).

If you take cryptsy coldstorage out of the equation the coin is really well distributed compared to most other coins.

Someone was smart, bought the coins up in bulk when they were cheap and now slowly sells them back to the market. That's the status. The coin was fairly distributed with powmining. We also can't help it that everyone was selling their coins to the whales  Roll Eyes
But that's what people always seem to do. It's a natural law: either you are a whale or you sell your coins for cheap money to the whale. There isn't much between that.

539  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Current wallet 0.9.5 on: January 26, 2015, 08:05:08 PM

I agree with everything you have said. I am looking forward to seein where this coin takes us. Maybe this will end up being a solid store of value down the road and BTC will be used as day to day $$$ its very hard to say still. I could see this being a store of value ...btc being a day to day currency ...as well as peercoins and digibytes....those are a few of the good ones I have seen.

That's what i am thinking too. Bitcoin and most other coins are more of a currency. For longterm storage of value you'd choose Uno.

So far it has been doing that well.
540  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Current wallet 0.9.5 on: January 26, 2015, 07:43:58 PM

Thank you and sorry if I sounded like an ass hole. I really love UNO it seems like a amazing idea. However you lost me here "Unobtanium is an extremely costly or impossible material by definition.
Element 120 is radioactive but doesn't decay as fast - it wasn't found so far. There's a lot to discover in this brand.
"
What do you mean by all this exactly...I am trying to fully grasp the idea of UNO...I still need help. What would be some other real world uses for UNO down the road? You see people hoarding it because it will be super valuable?  Also what is stopping another dev team from trying to replicate UNO ? Or make another scarce "commodity"?

what's pretty special is the combination of all the things:

-scarce and stable (low volatillity compared to more inflationary coins)
-fair
-community backed
-no greed from dev attached (creator doesn't hold a large stake, no premine,no flashmine, no bullshit)
-very compact blockchain
-original crypto
-cool brand

and so on

All the different pieces to the coin give a really good picture. I don't fear copycats for this coin tbh. It isn't easy to copy. Right now it has no competition at all - after existing for more than 1 year. In fact we are competing with LTC and BTC directly in that sense as Uno is a moneytoken good for real world application - possibly even better than BTC and LTC because it has less volatility, is more efficient, faster and is able to preserve its value better. I wouldn't be surprised to wake up one day and find it at a really fat marketcap  Wink
